"He's just a necromancy student, is he really worth that much attention from you?" The shadow spoke in surprise.
"Hehehe, he's not ordinary! There are many secrets surrounding him, and even I can't figure out what secrets he hides. This person is very interesting." Lawrence spoke slowly, smiling.
"The target of Clark's visit to the Knight's School should be you this time. Most likely he and this Duke from the Kasi Empire wanted to make a move against you, but for some reason their mission was aborted halfway through and Duke suddenly left our country. The whole thing is very bizarre,". The man continued.
Nodding his head and remaining silent for a while, Lawrence opened his mouth to say, "Alright, you are dismissed for now. It won't be that easy for Clark to make a move against me in the Knight School anyway. Hmm. It looks like I have to move first and eliminate Clark."
The Shadow didn't say much when he heard those words and jumped up to the roof, squirming out of a hole under the roof. He disappeared into the distance as Lawrence sat inside, sipping his tea in silence and contemplating something.
The sky had already brightened by this time as the figure left and flew towards the mountains behind the academy. Han Shuo couldn't continue his pursuit openly because of the brightened sky. On top of that, with today's business, Han Shuo decided to give up investigating this fellow for the time being.
Taking advantage of the time before the students of the Knight School woke up, Han Shuo returned to the Necromancy Major early in the morning. He spent the morning alone in the dormitory, practising necromancy magic as usual and silently pondering over Lawrence's identity and his relationship with Clark.
At noon, Han Shuo went to the Academy's cafeteria for the first time, causing a small riot.
Each major of the Academy had its own independent cafeteria, and the Dark Major was no exception. The cafeteria was divided into two levels, with the lower level being completely free. Students could eat there after paying their tuition fees, but of course what was free didn't taste as good.
Upstairs, there was another level where many chefs were in charge. This level was much higher than the one below. Of course, the food on this level could only be enjoyed by spending additional gold coins. It was usually for students who were better off.
Han Shuo was no longer a poor student. There were enough gold coins stored in the crystal cards in his space ring for him to enjoy life as he wished. So he didn't linger on the first level, but went straight to the second. He swiped his crystal card to order some expensive and exquisite dishes. He took a table for himself and began to feast.
After the last battle, Han Shuo had become a celebrity in the school. Those enjoying their meals were now all Dark Major students. Although Han Shuo had won glory for the Dark Major the last time, his actions had not won them respect. Instead, he had thrown dirt in their faces. So when he appeared on the second level of the cafeteria, he had attracted everyone's attention.
Han Shuo paid no attention to any of this. As his strength and experience grew, he paid less and less attention to these Babylon Academy students. In his heart, these students were just children who had never seen the outside world, so they posed no threat to him.
"Ah, there you are!" Lisa called softly as she and Lawrence walked through the door. She smiled and walked over to Han Shuo with Lawrence.
Lawrence smiled and nodded at Han Shuo from a distance, then went off to order his own food. Lisa sat down firmly in front of Han Shuo and looked at the hostile looks around her. Her charming face grew cold as she placed her hands on her waist, "And what are you looking at? What is there to look at?"
Although the little witch Lisa was in the weak Necromancy Major, her bad temper was known throughout the Dark Major. Therefore, when she shouted, the faces of those who were staring at Han Shuo turned ugly and they ducked their heads, muttering a few curses before turning their heads again.
"Don't mind them, they're just jealous of you." Looking around and cursing angrily, Lisa sat down happily and stared at Han Shuo.
At a loss for words, Han Shuo said, "Then let them be jealous. I will not lose a single hair because of their jealousy, but if anyone dares to put their jealousy into action, then I can promise that they will not only lose a few hairs!"
Han Shuo had spoken softly at first, but when he noticed that there were still people staring at him with hatred, he raised his voice with a cold face and filled it with a warning tone.
Han Shuo hadn't dealt any killing blows in the last fight, but the cold aloofness and determination had already told everyone that he was definitely not someone who was kindhearted and would show mercy. The onlookers had even gotten the strange impression that if it weren't for the school rules, Han Shuo might have really killed those people in cold blood.
Therefore, when Han Shuo issued those warnings with an angry face, those who hadn't lowered their hostile gazes after Lisa's harassment slowly ducked their heads.
"Hehehe, looks like you're pretty unpopular!" Lawrence walked over from a distance, carrying a tray of exquisite food. He said with a smile to Han Shuo, standing next to Lisa after handing her a plate.
Shrugging his shoulders, Han Shuo said shyly, "The bottom line is that some people are really too bored. They're incompetent, but they have a strong sense of jealousy. Not only will they not be grateful if you show them a friendly face, they'll think you fear them instead."
"Indeed, I deeply empathise with your point of view." Lawrence chuckled in agreement and
he said, nodding his head.
Amy and Athena, the two girls from the necromancy class, suddenly appeared. Lisa hesitated when she saw them take another seat, then picked up her plate. "You two chat, I'll sit with Amy and the others."
Lisa stood up after speaking and made her way down two aisles, saying hello to Amy and the others in the distance and sitting down with them.
Han Shuo and Lawrence were the only ones left after Lisa's departure. Because of Lisa and Han Shuo's repeated warnings just now, there was a large area of free space around Han Shuo. Therefore, no one should be able to overhear their conversation.
"I heard that Clark likes Fanny, but he left today with a dejected face because of your appearance. Did something like that happen?" Lawrence seemed to ask at random with a slight smile.
Han Shuo was frantically going over things in his mind at that moment. He lifted his head to glance at Lawrence and replied with seeming indifference. "How could something like this happen? Master Fanny rejected Clark because she wasn't interested in him. It had nothing to do with me, don't start making up nonsense."
Lawrence's expression suddenly returned to normal after Han Shuo's words, and then he said cheerfully, "Bryan, ah Bryan. We are friends, are you going to lie to me? Rumours about the matter between you and Master Fanny are all over the Dark Major. They say nothing comes from nothing. I, for one, don't believe that there is nothing between you two.
"Say what you will." Han Shuo refused to comment. He lowered his head and continued eating, seemingly not bothered at all by Lawrence's words.
"I happen to know a bit about Clark's personality, he's not as fair and kind as he seems on the surface. It seems you've offended him. I've also heard that he suspects you of killing his little brother. It looks like you're in trouble!" Lawrence continued to speak, using his eyes to silently observe Han Shuo's expression. When he saw that Han Shuo was completely unmoved, Lawrence remained silent for a while and continued, "Bryan, we're friends, right?"
Nodding, Han Shuo put down his cup and looked at Lawrence with a smile, "I would say so!"
"Very well then. Since that's the case, I'm willing to bet that Clark will definitely make a move against you. I hope you believe me." Lawrence spoke seriously.
"Of course, when I returned to the dormitory today, I saw that the blanket on my bed had traces of being cut. It was a good thing I wasn't in the dormitories yesterday, otherwise you probably wouldn't have seen me today. I thought for a while and felt that only Clark would want to do that to me. Lawrence had beaten around the bush and said as much. His intentions slowly revealed themselves. So Han Shuo knew what Lawrence was trying to do and stopped talking in circles and admitted things directly.
When these words were spoken, Lawrence's eyes lit up and stared at Han Shuo in astonishment. Then he flashed a brilliant smile and nodded, "You are not a simple character at all. So you were prepared in advance! And to think that I was worried about you. Mm. Since you treat me as a friend, I can even help you take Clark down."
Those words were the main point. A look of astonishment flashed through Han Shuo's eyes as he looked deeply at Lawrence. He lowered his head and spoke softly, "You mean you're going to team up with me to kill Clark?"
A shiver of fear ran through Lawrence as he was shocked. He looked around and said softly, "Bryan, what makes you think that?"
Han Shuo stared at Lawrence and paused for a moment. When he'd stared at Lawrence in a way that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, he spoke softly, "Lawrence, when you spoke of dealing with Clark earlier, I could sense your intent to kill. I can be sure that you also have such thoughts, right?"
It was Lawrence's turn to be silent after these words were spoken. It was as if he was meeting Han Shuo for the first time. Lawrence looked at Han Shuo with a strange look on his face and was silent for a long time before he nodded. He sighed, "Bryan, I bow to your knowledge. That's right, I want to kill him too!"
"This isn't the place to talk. I have things to do today. Come and see me tomorrow afternoon. Maybe we can come up with a good plan." When Lawrence also spoke of his desire to kill Clark, Han Shuo suddenly didn't look at Lawrence anymore. He lowered his head and ate nonchalantly, speaking quietly.
Similarly silent, Lawrence and Han Shuo sat across from each other, eating with their heads lowered. They did not speak to each other and did not raise their heads to look at each other again.
After maintaining this bizarre situation for a while, Han Shuo stood up and walked out with leisurely and unhurried strides. As Han Shuo was about to leave the cafeteria, Lawrence suddenly raised his head and looked intently at Han Shuo's back, saying in a voice only he could hear, "What a scary guy!"
As he left the cafeteria, Han Shuo did not dwell on what had happened. He walked through the mountains to the back of the academy and hired a carriage when no one was looking and headed for the Boozt Merchant Guild.
That day, Han Shuo had made an appointment with Phoebe. The materials needed to refine the earth elite zombies and the forest troll rations still had to be done through Phoebe.
Han Shuo was also starting to make preparations to refine the Yin Demons, which were one step higher than the original demons after he had advanced to the True Demon Realm. Han Shuo had also discovered a place of extreme wood in the holy ground of the forest trolls. This way, he could also refine the wood elite zombies, and would have to trouble Phoebe for more materials.
When he arrived at the guild, Han Shuo learned from Fabian that Phoebe had not yet returned. Phoebe had left instructions for Fabian to wait for Han Shuo if he came by. She would be back later in the evening.
Seeing that the night was still young, Han Shuo let Fabian lead the way to catch up with Jack. When Jack heard that Han Shuo had arrived, he was also pleased. He found an empty seat for the two of them and they began to chat happily.
Han Shuo learned from Jack that Phoebe held him in high esteem because of Han Shuo's recommendation. Jack was apprenticed to the best teacher in the guild, learning how to keep the books and how to run a business. It looked like Phoebe was planning to cultivate Jack into someone of Fabian's status.
Phoebe finally returned when it was night and spoke immediately when she saw Han Shuo, "I've been busy all afternoon making evening clothes for you. Come with me to my room and change into it. Let me see if it fits you well."
When Phoebe said that she had been busy all afternoon making evening clothes for him, Han Shuo felt something strange stirring in his heart. His heart lurched as he stumbled after Phoebe and followed her to her room.
