Talking about the goblins threat

A few minutes later Orion found himself in front of Mandar Schion whilst carrying the net with the goblin inside it.Mandar was pleasantly surprised to see that Orion had succeeded but he would keep his promise.

"I see you succeeded in capturing a specimen of a mutated goblin alive.Before I teach you some magic I would like to ask you some questions.Did anything major happen whilst you were out there?."Mandar sat behind a desk full to the brim with books and research notes.

"Well Torrent died and so did the farmer and his family."Orion had seen the remains of the farmer and his family when entering the farm house.There had been nothing left but splatters of blood and scraps of bone in the first floor.He could only assume that the farmer and his family had been eaten by the goblins.

"The farmer and his family is understandable but how was Torrent killed?.He was a mid B class mage and a formidable one at that."Mandar expressed his confusion at the untimely demise of Torrent.

"He was overwhelmed by the sheer number of goblin reinforcements that had arrived after this goblin called them with a communication orb.They were powerful reinforcements as well with a good number being at the low and mid B class."Orion gestured towards the chef goblin in the enchanted net.

"You say they possessed a communication orb and that a good number were at the low to mid B class.If that is true then I might need to reassess the threat that these goblins pose.I'll have to consider advising the royal prince to pass out the order to exterminate these goblins.Could you describe some of these goblins and whether or not there were any deviations between the goblin you captured and the goblin reinforcements that arrived?."Mandar needed to know more about the mutated goblins in order to better study them.

"Most of them appeared to be unusual mages and there was a large number of them that had strange red mushrooms growing out of their heads."Orion revealed the details about the strange mages and red mushrooms.

"Well I'd love to know more about the magic that these strange mages used.Theres a high probability that the fog of the broken out dungeon gifted some goblins with magical knowledge.Its been too short a period of time for them to learn new magic professions after simply being mutated.As for the red mushrooms growing out of the goblins heads I have a few theories.Perhaps its a mutated parasitic fungus that has been created by the fog that feeds on the goblins in some way.Or perhaps its a symbiotic relationship between two organisms.Either way I'll need a specimen in order to know for sure."Mandar went on a rant about what the things Orion talked about could mean.

What Mandar talked about caused Orion to think for a second.The fog could bestow knowledge onto those who were made pure by it.Orion became more and more interested in the fog the more he heard about it.Perhaps it could give him knowledge on who his new master was since coming to this world.

"Were you able to collect Torrents remains and keep it from falling into the hands of the goblins?."Torrent asked a question that Orion had been waiting for.

"No I was only able to collect his severed head."Orion replied in a grim tone.

"That's a pity Torrent signed some contracts in order to donate his body to the study of magic.I don't think he intended to have his body be eaten and wasted by goblins.Its even worse for his belongings and space ring.He was working on powerful magic and spells in order to break through to the high B class.His research and spells simply fell into the goblins hands and it will only increase their power.As for his severed head and give it to me.I already have an idea on what study and experiments to perform on this goblin here."Torrent recieved the enchanted net with the chef goblin still inside it and Torrents severed head

The two mages then headed to a jail cell where they put the sleeping goblin inside.Torrents severed head was placed in the custody of a mage who was overlooking another specimen in a different jail cell.

"Now I did say I was going to teach you magic.I know that your able to use ice magic but let's get an idea of your affinities first."Mandar Schion proceeded to lead Orion to a different room.

The room had a certain device with a pad in the middle of it.Mandar advised Orion to head to the centre of the pad.He then advised Orion to place his hand on the centre of an orb and insert his mana into it..Orion did so and when he looked at Mandars face he appeared to be in a state of shock.

"This...this is unheard of."
