Spell books

Orion stopped twisting and contorting his body and surveyed his surroundings.He appeared to be in some sort of underground cellar.There was a runic inscription circle in the middle of the room along with some piles of corpses around it.

Orion could see four statues in some parts of the room which appeared to resemble an obese demon with multiple long arms ending in four fingers and one thumb on either side of each hand.The demon had multiple horns that appeared to curl inwards and penetrate its own skull.

All four statues were portraying the demon as lying down on a bed or on a comfortable chair.

"Perhaps these statues are meant to represent the patron of these necromancers.Its probably a demon judging by its appearance."Orion surmised the purpose of the statues and believed it to be some kind of shrine to a sort of god or demon or an offering to their master.

Orion looked around the underground cellar a bit more and found some books on the floor.They appeared to be spell books judging from their titles.

"A mages guide to ice magic"Orions curiosity was piqued so he began reading.Not too long after his efforts bore some kind of fruit.

"Oh"Orion was happy to be able to learn a spell and was delighted to find that he had a system.However he would check the status after he figured out how many spells he could learn from the spell books.

[This is a defensive type spell that can be used to summon a 2 metre wall made of ice around the caster.Depending on the distance from the caster more mana may have to be used to cast the spell.However more mana maybe used to increase the size and durability of the icy wall.]

[This is an offensive type spell that can be used to fire a 20 metre Ray of ice that freezes everything that comes into contact with it.Depending on the distance from the caster more mana maybe used to cast the spell.However more mana maybe used to increase the destructiveness and range of the spell.]

Orion couldn't make heads nor tails of the rest of the book so he stopped reading it and read another book on necromancy.This time he could only learn one spell called raise undead before he decided to check his status.

Orion was a bit taken aback by his tiny amount of mana since he could only use some of his more powerful spells a few times.

Orion was also dejected by his low stats since he was only 1.8 times stronger then a regular person and 1.5 times more agile then an ordinary person.He did read from the spellbook however that he could reinforce his body with mana in order to increase his physical abilities drastically.

Orion also wanted to try and raise his level but he assumed he only had to kill living creatures in order to level up.The level thing wasn't an issue right now so Orion wasn't bothered about it.

What Orion needed to know was how to learn some more spells since he was in an unknown world.He took the two spell books in his spatial inventory and decided to pick up a strange staff.He felt a strange energy from the staff that was probably mana.

As he picked up the staff he felt power flow into him and felt his mana increase.He simply wished he had an assessment skill like the one found in webnovels.

Orion thought he was prepared enough so he decided to go explore the rest of the building.
