Spell bombardment

Orion stood up immediately once he had been helped down from the tred.He wasn't expecting the fire mage to possess such a powerful spell.He didn't even understand how it worked as he had too little information to work with in figuring out the spell.

The fire mage didn't launch or fire any flames and yet Orion was immediately set on fire and engulfed within an explosion when the fire mage chanted and stomped his foot.Orion didn't understand enough about magic or the spell to reach a conclusion.

Orions development would make the people of this world die of envy but he was still weaker compared to a single mage.Orion could tell that he was above a regular human but below actual fighters.

Orion also noticed that he was level three probably from all the deaths of the guards of the trading caravan.He also noticed that he had an assessment skill just like in webnovels.

Orion hurried over to the group of necromancers who seemed to acknowledge him as they had seen his battle.He might have lost but he showed that he was clearly above the average skeleton.They no longer had any reason to disrespect him.They didn't mean everyone however.

"How dare you lose.You didn't kill a single person by yourself.I saw that last battle and you flopped hard."Vousch showed his displeasure at Orions incompetence snd failure.

Orion for his part simply ignored him and payed attention to the battlefield.It appeared all the adventurers were getting together and discussing what to do next.Orion believed they were possibly debating whether or not to continue on their journey or go back to Ring City.

If they went back they would probably report the occurrence to the proper authorities and the necromancers might be attacked.Orion as an undead would also be killed in the attack so he had to come up with something to escape his impending fate.

"Initiates now is your time.Prepare to attack these adventurers and kill them.Do it for the dark Lord Varimathras."Secthir gave a grand speech which rallied the initiates of the sordid cult forward to attack the adventurers.

The initiates charged into the battlefield as a group and began casting powerful spells.This caught some of the adventurers by surprise and they took a bit of time to prepare casting their own spells whilst the warriors readied their shields.Their lack of preparedness would possibly prove fatal.

The initiates completed their spell casting and all sorts of projectiles made their way towards the adventurers.There were regular dark bolt spells and dark armament spells such as spears,halberds,arrows,knives all of which were made of dark energy and threatened the adventurers lives.

There were mages who had been vigilant enough to cast a barrier and even throw a counter spell at the initiates.The majority of the group of adventurers however were unprepared.Some didn't throw up their barriers in time and were hit by a bombardment of spells.

There were some who died on the spot by being impaled by dark energy that permeated their bodies and killed their internal organs.Others were unlucky enough to just lose limbs and slowly bleed out.The warriors found their shields to be insignificant in the face of such a bombardment.

There was one group however which had survived temporarily unscathed.This was the group with Harkon and Reginold along with a few other adventurers who were lucky enough to stick by them.

Harkon had conjured a large dome made of flame that surrounded himself and a number of other adventurers.He had placed a significant amount of mana into the dome and was being helped by an adventurer known as Ruth.She was using a holy light element spell in order to reinforce Harkons already existing flame barrier.She was also using a significant amountvof mana.

Their joint efforts created a sort of pseudo element barrier to fight back against the darkness.The barrier wouldn't last long in the face of so many spell casters however.Their enemies would simply put more mana into their spells to counteract the barrier.

"We have to escape or this barrier won't last long."Ruth spoke desperately to Harkon who nodded in agreement.

A spell caster by the name of John noticed this and began casting the portal spell in order to get back to Ring City.He began chanting as the holy flame dome was pounded by another round of darkness element spells.

"The barrier won't last another round we need to get out of here quick."Harkon spoke as John completed the chant and a portal to Ring City opened.They all funneled into the portal and found themselves in one of the taverns of Ring City.

The portal closed behind them as the holy flame dome broke and shattered under the third round of darkness element spells.
