Chapter 3- Settling in

After looking at the wolves, Zero turned to Azaleigh who was busy unbuttoning her top. With every button she released, more are more of her breasts were displayed. Zero's eyes jumped out of their sockets so surprised he was, but he immediately called out to her to stop while he blushed profusely, "What are you doing? You can't take off your clothes in the presence of male!? Do you dare accept the consequences?"

Azaleigh furrowed her brows, "What's the issue? As a wolf, I never had to wear a cover. These clothes are uncomfortable." She revealed a disgusted face.

Zero shook his head disapprovingly, "You are not a wolf anymore, you're a human and we do not walk around naked. Have you ever seen a human walk around naked...? That's because we have to cover our sexual parts it's just how we've evolved... So please keep it on, you'll get used to it soon enough. Trust me." He said then revealed a faint smile.

Azaleigh sighed, "Okay, I'll try." However, she was not happy about it. The sudden emergence of having to deal with cleavage was annoying to her. Yet, she listened to him and fixed her clothes.

Once Zero saw that she was buttoning her clothes again, he asked her to tell the wolves to split up and find a cave so that they could find a safe place to sleep. However, it was unnecessary as they already had a cave where they slept. This news put a smile on his face. They then lead him to where the cave was.

The entrance was three meters tall and pitch-black inside. The wolves had night vision so they were able to see without a problem. Zero had to wait for his eyes to adjust and even then it was too difficult to see. Once he realised that, he walked out of the cave with Azaleigh to a nearby tree. He then asked her to use her wind scythe to cut off a branch which she did. Then using a fire spell she set fire to the top of the branch. Lastly, she cut off a lot more branches which they carried into the cave by the aid of fire lighting the way. Because Zero had given her the skill, [Magic Affinity] casting spells was a lot easier for her than before.

Once they got to their den, Azaleigh's stomach growled violently. This made sense as before they met they were on the hunt for food. Thus Zero commanded the wolves to go find food for themselves but also to bring meat back to him. Unlike them, he couldn't eat the meat raw. He liked his meat medium-rare not alive.

Immediately, the wolves dispersed and went on the hunt for food... Fifteen minutes later they returned with a massive deer. It had bite marks all over its neck, body and legs indicating that it was a struggle to kill. This made Zero furrow his brows, he wasn't looking forward to eating muscle enriched meat. However, it was better than nothing so accepted it with a smile.

"Well done on collecting this meat. I'm glad I can depend on you." He said to the wolves causing them to wag their tails with joy. Then Zero decided to ask Azaleigh to cut the meat in parts so that it could be shared. Once she finished dividing the meat, it was distributed to the respective parties. Thus the wolves began eating their meat raw. Azaleigh tried to eat hers raw as well but as soon as she took a mouth full her body shivered and she spat it out.

This left her confused yet again? Why couldn't she eat this meat? She had always eaten meat this way. She scratched her head and scrunched her brows as she remained perplexed. Seeing this Zero laughed, "You are human now and we eat our meat cooked. That is why you can't eat it raw anymore. If you were to eat certain animals raw you would get an upset stomach. Trust me it isn't worth it. So let me prepare a human meal for you. It won't be great given that I have no seasonings, but you won't spit out in the end."

Azaleigh nodded her profusely as she was hungry. Seeing her enthusiasm, he set the wood that he gathered together then he asked her to light it up. Immediately the light of the fire lit up the cave making the walls fully visible. Then he took their meat and pressed a stick into the middle of it. He dangled the meat over the fire rotating it so the sides were evenly cooked. Once it was ready, he removed it from the fire and gave her a stick that had meat on. The juices were dripping out of it creating a heavenly smell that saturated the entire cave. The wolves that were sill eating suddenly lost interest in their food as they looked at the cooked meat with saliva running out of their mouths.

Azaleigh gladly excepted the meat and gulped deeply. Then without further ado, she bit into the meat as the juices oozed in and out of her mouth. As her taste buds registered the flavour, she smiled and took another bite. She ate her food with her mouth open but that was to be expected so even though it was one of his pet peeves, he let it slide. Instead, he took a bite of his meat and tasted its flavour. The meat had a similar flavour to beef albeit different enough to classify it in its own category. It was also not as muscly as he had expected it to be, it only required a few bites before it was transformed into a bolus ready for swallowing.

Once they had finished eating they decided to go to bed. Azaleigh circled the place she liked then lied down, Zero followed shortly. When they were both on the ground they closed their eyes. However, they found it challenging to fall asleep as they were sleeping in a different condition to what they were used to. For one, Zero was sleeping on the rock-hard ground instead of a bed. His bed before was nothing fancy, it was merely a single mattress, yet, given the choice, he would choose it in a heartbeat rather than on rock.

On the other hand, Azaleigh struggled to sleep because of the new body she found herself in. In her wolf form, it was customary to tuck her feet in and feel the fur of her belly. This was something she could no longer do, furthermore, this was the first time she felt the cold rocks on her skin. She no longer had luscious fur to protect her. If it wasn't for the fire, she wouldn't have fallen asleep at all. Yet after a while, they both fell asleep while the other wolves watched over them.

The next morning, Zero woke up, Azaleigh was still sleeping soundly with her finger in her mouth. Seeing that he was alone awake, Zero decided to use this time to process his situation. By now he was a hundred per cent certain that he was in another world. Though, he had no idea how he got here. Was he summoned here, if so where were the people that summoned him? Did the spell go wrong causing him to be summoned in another location... Or maybe that was entirely wrong and he died on Earth then transported himself into the doppelganger from another world but due to unknown circumstances, he cannot remember anything from this world. There were multiple theories all viable in a fantasy setting where anything was possible.

When he realised that, he decided that he wouldn't think about it. The only fact was that this was his new life and he wanted to live it the way he wanted to. Thus if he was summoned by someone for a purpose, he would humbly decline. Once that was settled, he began thinking about his ability, ' I can evolve creatures this was displayed when I changed Azaleigh from a wolf to human. Using this ability I can create a powerful army for myself. In worlds like this strength is usually the determiner of whether you live in oppression or freedom.

Although I can evolve others, I wonder if I can evolve myself? Then maybe I could make myself stronger too thus not having to depend fully on my underlings for protection. When I think back to when I activated my ability, the only option that was unlocked was human. Could that be because I am human, or because it's the only thing I have touched? When I arrived here I pinched myself to check if I wasn't dreaming. Maybe at that moment, I acquired the DNA script of what makes a human. Thus to confirm my theory, if I touch myself and I'm able to change myself into a Silverwolf I can confirm that touch is how my ability works as well as confirming that I'm able to evolve myself. And if it turns out that I can't evolve myself, I'll have to try it on another creature other than a silver wolf. Yes, let's test it out.'

Once he thought that, he took his hand touched his forearm.
