Katherine, the second wife of the emperor Christian De Fasanovia, did everything to make sure that her son would be the emperor. So when her other concubines attacked the crown prince, she closed her eyes. Her only goal was to save her son and for that she wanted him to be emperor, the ultimate power and authority. On the day her husband died, she was more than happy, as the crown prince was already dead and now only her son was left! Katherine's face glowed like a wilted tree and was given good water and fertilizer while Sophia, her face turned like the bottom of a pot that had been forgotten on the stove for long.
The contrast was huge. It was worth watching how Sophia tried to control her ugly expressions. If possible, Katherine would have called a painter there and then and captured that look in a huge painting so that she could give it to her husband.
Sophia excused herself soon with the pretense of an urgent work she had forgotten all this time and left the table but Katherine could smell her jealousy from far away.
She only smiled and lowered her head to eat.
"Then excuse us too." Len and Luci stood up to bid her goodbye and left the grinning empress alone.
Her smile was only increasing with time when the maid stared at him with the corner of their eyes as if they were looking at a foreign being.
