Glowing Blue

Meeting Sona went better than he expected. After suffering for years under the House of Phenex, he's expecting to be further harmed. Instead, all he's been given is kindness and love. Thanks to Rias, he's gained another friend. That new friend being Sona Sitri. But she wasn't on his mind, his powers were. His Blue Fire was all that's on his mind right now. Rias was accepting of his fire when the Phenex family downright despised it. He never knew why. He didn't know why they hated him, why they despised him, why they hated his fire. None of it made sense to him and he was just too scared to ask. He could never really control his magic because he was never trained to. The Phenex Family hoped that his magic would just fade away and he would lose his blue flames. But to their misfortune, that never happened. So, they had strengthened their mistreatment of him.

But now in the House of Gremory, maybe he can actually learn how to control his powers. No. Rias might have accepted them, but who's to say her parents will? Maybe he should just keep it a secret. They had spent the rest of the day just playing hide and seek or doing other activities. During all of it, Azar kept his powers contained and tried his best to not accidentally let it out. He was being cautious. His cautiousness was always interrupted by Rias whose energy wouldn't let him be slow. At the moment, she was oblivious to what he was thinking and feeling. Can't blame her. They are just kids. When the day ended, Sona had to go home with her parents much to Rias's dismay. But the red head lit up knowing she at least had Azar. Since Sona left, nothing really noteworthy had happened.

Azar just remained in the room he was given, occasionally coming out to seek out Rias or hang out with her. She's one of the only ones he feels genuinely safe and comfortable around. He doesn't mind being around Venelana as she does nothing but show kindness, she also took the effort to try and educate Azar. It was a struggle at first, but he managed to get the hang of it after some time. Especially when it came to reading. Poor boy didn't know how to read but can follow commands well. It pained Venelana to see this in someone so young as she also grew distain for whatever family had him before they found him. However, the way he was raised is unacceptable to her. He's a 4-year-old boy with absolutely no reading skills but can follow commands well. It brought a scowl to her face but didn't let Azar see it, so he didn't take it the wrong way.

Zeoticus has been curious about Azar's DNA test. Seeing that it showed he was related to the House of Phenex, he was curious why he left the home. He was going to ask them directly but figured that he wouldn't get a truthful answer. He isn't too worried about Azar being a Phenex, seeing how he interacts with Rias and how happy she is around him. It would be a dick move to separate the two. As far as he and anyone else is concerned, Azar is under the protection of the House of Gremory. If he was abandoned by the House of Phenex, who's going to object? If the Phenex's really didn't want him, then they wouldn't care at all. But he's still going to pursue answers as long as his questions keep piling up.

Speaking of our protagonist, Azar was in his room looking at his hands. He was given the room to stay in as it was previously a guest room. The Gremory's had plenty of guest rooms so giving one to Azar was not a problem at all. He had been thinking about his blue flames endlessly as previously mentioned. He just cannot shake them from his mind ever since Rias was accepting of them. Her kindness is what's really pushing him forward. He is swiftly taken out of his thoughts with the sounds of the door to his room opening.

His gaze shoots up in an instant and he looks at whoever was coming into the room. Coming into the room, he saw Venelana and someone new. He was tall and had bright red hair, just like Zeoticus and Rias. He had a very lax expression that held a neutral smile. He also had the same blue eyes as the aforementioned pair.

Venelana: "Your awake! Good." she says, using her normal calm tone when around the young boy.

Azar: "W-who is this?" he asks, a little frightened by the new arrival.

Venelana: "This is Sirzechs. Rias's older brother." she introduces. "he's visiting for a few days, much to our dismay."

Sirzechs: "I would stay longer if I could. But something came up and it requires my attention." He defends calmly. "But we can worry about my job later." he waves it off before looking at Azar. "I was told that Rias found you and my parents have been taking care of you since then. Is that right?"

Azar nervously nods, not sure if he could trust this newcomer. After getting a response, Sirzechs spares a glance towards his mother who stands beside him. Sensing the gaze of her oldest child, her eyes shift towards him before quickly looking back at Azar as she approaches him. She could tell he didn't trust Sirzechs, and considering what his past was. She's not surprised. She sits on the bed which is what Azar was on. He was sitting on the edge in silence before they walked into the room. Sitting beside the nervous and cautious boy, she gently places a hand on his back in a comforting manner.

Venelana: "You can trust him, Azar." she says calmly. "You trust Rias, don't you?"

He nods slowly.

Venelana: "Rias trusts Sirzechs. That means you can trust him too." she said calmly.

He nervously glances at the tall red-haired man in the room. Said man just stands there patiently. He had been told about this boy staying at the Gremory Manner for a while. His wife had informed him of the boy's presence apparently the day after the boy arrived. He'd been curious ever since and now he had some free time to spare so he came back home to see his family and to see what the fuss was about. He wondered where the boy came from. Now that he is in the boy's presence, he can sense some dormant potential within him. If trained, this boy could be pretty powerful. As he is now, he's weak in Devil standards. But that can change with enough hard work and determination. That is if the boy is up to it.

Sirzechs: "Do you mind if I ask you a question, Azar?" he asks, calmly.

Azar nervously shakes his head, giving the go ahead for Sirzechs to ask his question.

Sirzechs: "have you ever trained in your magic?" he asks.

Aar shakes his head once more, too nervous and scared to talk to this stranger. Yes, he got a name and yes, he's part of the Gremory's, but his anxiety is getting the best of him.

Venelana: "What brought this up?" she asks, curiously.

Sirzechs: "I can sense some dormant potential within him." he replies honestly. "And it intrigues me."

Azar: "m-my magic.... intrigues you?" he asks, speaking finally after a good few moments of silence.

Sirzechs: "of course. It's not every day one of the Devil Kings get intrigued by someone's dormant potential." He states humorously with a raised eyebrow.

Azar: "A Devil King?" he asks.

He'd heard about it before from Venelana who had been educating him these past few days. He learned about the four Devil Kings briefly. He only learned the names. Lucifer, Leviathan, Beelzebub and a fourth one he can't remember. He didn't get very far into Devil Kings as Venelana's focus was helping him learn how to read and learn other basic knowledge. Knowledge that he lacked under the House of Phenex.

Sirzechs: "I help lead the Devil people alongside three others. Sounds awesome I know but it is very boring when you get to the paperwork." he said, earning a glare from his mother.

Venelana: "Speaking of which. Don't tell me you've been slacking off, Sirzechs Lucifer." she says darkly.

Sirzechs gets nervous as he could feel his mother's Power of Destruction activating.

Sirzechs: "h-heheh, n-no I'm getting it done mother." he said nervously.

Venelana: "Good." she said, her attitude taking a full 180.

Sirzechs sighs, dodging a literal bullet there. Azar just stared on cluelessly.

Azar: "Paperwork?" he asks, tilting his head in confusion.

Sirzechs: "Avoid it like the plague."

Venelana glared at Sirzechs again before they all heard the door open. Sirzechs turned around and saw Rias enter the room. She intended to see Azar, but she stopped in place before beaming with excitement the second her eyes landed on her older brother. Within the blink of an eye, Rias lunged at Sirzechs and hugs him tightly.

Rias: "BROTHER!!" she loudly exclaimed happily. "You're home, you're home, you're home, YOU'RE HOME!!" she happily states.

Sirzechs: "yes, Rias. I'm home." he chuckled. "I was just speaking to your friend Azar here."

Rias looks up at him while hugging him. She had a sad look on her face.

Rias: "You weren't gonna see me first?" she asks.

Sirzechs: "well I wanted to surprise you." he said, calmly.

Rias: "hmm, okay!" she said, getting rid of her sadness in the blink of an eye.

She lets go of her brother and moves around him before getting up on the bed and sitting beside Azar. She then looks at Sirzechs.

Rias: "What were you talking about?" she asks.

Sirzechs: "I sensed Azar's dormant potential, and it intrigued me." he explains.

Rias: "Dormant potential?" she asks confusedly with the tilt of her head before realizing what he must be talking about. "Oh! Are you talking about Azzy's Blue flames?" she asks, a little excited.

Sirzechs: "oh?" he asks, raising an eyebrow hearing that piece of information.

Venelana: "Blue flames?" she asks, curious about what she heard from Rias.

Azar's heart dropped. He began shaking in fear of mistreatment. Rias just blurted out something he didn't want revealed and he was terrified about the repercussions. Sirzechs turns his gaze from Rias to Azar who began shaking more the minute they're gazes met. He looks down, knowing that looking directly at the person scolding him will make it worse. That's what Lord Phenex did.

Sirzechs: "Can you show me?" he asks.

Azar confusedly looked up at him to see only intrigue in his eyes. He didn't at first, but Rias noticed his hesitance and fear so hugged him from the side as comfort. Hugs fix everything in her book. After receiving clear support from Rias. He hesitantly brought his hands forward and tried to summon a flame. He had no idea how, but he'll give it a try. He closed his eyes as he was afraid of failing. After some time, he hears something ignite.

Sirzechs: "interesting." he comments with slight amazement.

Venelana: "Blue Flames." she says in slight awe.

He opens his eyes and sees he has created a small blue fire ball in his hands. Though she seen it before, Rias looks at it in awe. They've never seen blue fire before. Sirzechs is fairly impressed. Blue fire is very rare, and some consider it a myth. So, seeing a 4-year-old being able to cast a small fire ball of blue flames is a sight to behold.

Sirzechs: "Azure Flames are hard to come across. Especially in Devils." he claims.

Venelana: "How long have you been able to do this, Azar?" she asks.

Azar: "e-ever since I was 3." he replies, nervously.

Sirzechs: "So an entire year at most. Interesting. Have you learned to control it?" he asks.

He shakes his head, silently saying "No".

Azar: "They never let me train it and always punished me when I used my flames. Even if I did it by accident." he explains briefly.

Sirzechs: "they?" he asks.

Venelana: "His family we think. He's never given us a name." she intercepts. "Your father is trying to figure out who though."

Azar wanted to say it but was too scared to, in fear of them sending him back. He lowers his hands as the blue flame vanishes. He clenches his fists over his knees as he shook in fear. Rias noticed this before noticing tears coming to Azar's eyes.

Azar: "P-Please..."

Sirzechs and Venelana look at him and their eyes widen seeing his tearful face.

Azar: "Don't send me back." he pleas tearfully.

Sirzechs lightly narrows his eyes in thought after seeing this reaction. Venelana's motherly instincts kicked in and she wrapped her arms around him in an effort to comfort him. Rias joined in shortly after, wanting to help her friend.

Venelana: "No one's sending you back to them, Azar." she says comfortingly.

Azar just silently sheds tears as he tightly held onto Rias. Even though he's warming up to Venelana, he still feels safer around Rias. She was the one who found him in the first place. Sirzechs watches on as he thinks about Azar's dormant potential. His emotions would get in the way of training if Azar were down for it. But he has an idea on would be a good teacher for him.
