CHAPTER TWENTY- SIX...

LYDIA'S POV

As usual, I'm stalking V again. He still had the habit of always running in the early hours of the morning, and although I was not a morning person I'd do anything to see him.

So I trained myself and unfailingly woke up every morning to watch him. What we do for love.

I had done this even when Selena was still here, and I was so glad when she died.

Call me a bad friend, but we stopped being friends the day she and V met as mates, we were all close friends before that cursed day.

Then I had the luxury of always being around V, everyone knew I had a crush on him, and when he turned out to be Gianna's mate instead of mine, I was heartbroken, to say the least. On top of that, everyone looked at me with so much pity.

Although I hated seeing that expression of pity on everyone's faces but not as much as I hated seeing them together. Since that day I had hated her passionately. And I couldn't put into words my excitement on the day she died.

I had thought she was no longer in the picture, finally, I would have a chance with the love of my life but fate wasn't having any of it, and then came this Gianna girl.

I hated her just as much if not more. At least with Selena I always thought we were still friends, but I completely hated and loathed this Gianna girl with everything in me.

So you can imagine my shock when I was at my usual spot waiting for V then I saw both of them, together, holding hands. I felt like charging at her and tearing her into pieces, but once again I controlled myself. Easy girl, there's time for everything, easy. I didn't want to be discovered.

It looked like they were having a serious discussion. I took a deep breath to concentrate so that I could use my wolf hearing to hear their conversation and of course, they were talking about Selena and being friends. I screamed in my mouth. Ugggh, why would they want to be friends last time I checked they hated each other guts. When did this annoying development occur? and why wasn't I aware?

I knew I had to do something fast before they got any closer to each other. I stayed quietly in my position watching them go behind the trees to change. I was quite happy they were not close enough to change in front of each other just yet, but I was still so angry about the fact that they came together today, I wondered if they would be coming together from now on.

if they became friends then that means they would. it was normal for friends to run together. I needed to do something and I needed to do it fast. They were getting too close to each other too fast and I didn't want that to happen. Vladimir was mine and mine alone. Not Selena's and certainly not Gianna's. Mine and only mine and I would do anything to make that happen. There can only be me.

I didn't go as far as to suppress my wolf which might I add is a very dangerous thing to do. Life-threatening to be exact. I was still a full-fledged werewolf, I only permanently blocked her emotions. I didn't need her finding her mate to interfere with my plans with V, my self-made mate.

So I didn't go through all that just to have Gianna snatch him. I'd kill him, then myself before I ever let that happen.

I stood at my spot and watched them run together. I should let them enjoy the little time they had together. It wouldn't be long before Gianna had to go and I was going to make sure of that. very soon.

Something on Gianna's fur caught my attention and I was taken aback. A birthmark, shaped like a crescent moon. A birthmark on her fur was very strange because as wolves any mark we had on our human bodies stayed there and does not reflect on our wolf skin. this was good because if you got injured and changed to your wolf form you'll heal faster and it'll be like nothing ever happened, but that cannot be said for injuries gotten in your wolf form. That's an entirely different matter altogether. you could die if you transformed in that condition, it could be life-threatening depending on the seriousness of the injuries.

To add to it the mark was shaped in the form of a crescent moon which is always a special sign in the wolf world and it glowed. Hmmm…. It was strange. I needed to find out what it meant. To eliminate your enemy you need to know every single thing about them, so as not to be caught unawares by anything.

I watched them until they finished and dressed up to head back inside. Vladimir also noticed the mark and asked her about it.

Hmmm…. It was also interesting to know it had only started glowing when they met. that was useful to know and I knew exactly who to ask.

Today's watch was interesting.
