Everything Out

Excerpt ~ Now, Kendrell felt color draining from his face. " I'm. not. a. thief." he said, word for word. " I should be calling you that, not the other way round. What explains why you're in a male restroom, with a parcel in your hands?'' Kendrell asked. " Because it's mine and you stole it." Morticia replied. " No I didn't. And it's not yours!" Ken exclaimed. " Then it's yours?" " No. It's not mine either.'' Kendrell answered. Scoffing, Morticia remarked, " Great. Now we have a confused thief.'' And that was it! That was how much he could take! Taking three more steps, he stood right in front of her. " Hand it to me, so we can both leave here peacefully." Kendrell said calmly. Clearing her throat again, Morticia replied " No, I will not and I'm still gonna leave peacefully." Dropping her hands to her sides, Morticia turned to leave. But without taking another step further, Kendrell grabbed her left hand by the wrist, forcing her to face him again. But a little more than that happened, as her face collided with his chest, while her hair brushed his defined jaw. In a trice, Morticia stepped backwards, and on the third step, her back touched the wall. Kendrell then closed in on the distance between them, before he placed his hands on the wall, right above her shoulders. Bending his back a little, he spoke up, more like in a domineering manner, as his voice was somewhere between a whisper, sounding devilishly hoarse. " I'm not a thief and you are gonna hand it over to me. Why? Because it's not yours and it's not mine either." Pausing, he continued seconds later as Morticia couldn't say anything " I won't explain myself to a... stranger like you." Ken said, looking at Morticia who had goosebumps all over her. " So just give it to me, so_" " I don't think it's right for you both to give it to each other in the open." commented a viking haired guy who had just opened the door, only to find Morticia and Kendrell in a rather intimate position. " Maybe you can find a more private location." he said. " The type that accommodates positions too." he added with a grin. Morticia was dumbstruck with terror! Her cheeks grew hotter. Hotter because it was already hot while Kendrell was speaking things her brain failed to put into meaning. ~ What does the future hold for these two? _ IG: Cristabelxx Discord: https://discord.gg/qvcywz4CNX

Chapter 44: Fast at fishing

" Where were we?" Kendrell asked Morticia who said nothing, as she was still trying to stabilize her breathe.

That was sort of obvious to Ken who saw the look on her face.

" Listen miss, we're both adults, so I suggest we settle this like adults." Kendrell said.

" What do you suggest then?" Morticia managed to ask.

" What are the contents of your parcel?" Kendrell asked.

" I don't know." Morticia replied, causing Kendrell to scoff.

" You don't know? But you_"

" It's not mine either. My boss asked me to bring it along with her. Actually, my friend and I came together." Morticia said.

" Oh. So, where is she?" he asked.

" I don't know. I stepped out for a minute to.... I stepped out and by the time I came back, I could not find neither her nor the parcel." Morticia said.

" Well, I don't know how you're gonna solve that, but the parcel you're holding doesn't belong to your boss." Kendrell replied. Seeing that Morticia who had just recovered, quirked her brows, Kendrell decided to speak further.

" I don't know your friend, but since you said you both came together, then I'm pretty sure that she's not the lady I was asked to keep it for." He added.

All of a sudden, Morticia felt a bit... low. She couldn't quite explain the feeling, but it wasn't pleasant at all.

Clearing her throat, she spoke up

" Well, I'm also here to see her son, my boss' son. He had an accident. But she went in to see him first, before me." Morticia said, folding her arms again.

Quirking his brows, Kendrell asked, " So?"

" So.... we have to settle this, so I can go see him." Morticia said.

But then she realized what she said didn't make sense at all. It sort of didn't relate to the issue on ground.

' Maybe you're just jealous.' a voice in her head whispered.

'' Eww! No, I'm not!" Morticia exclaimed.

" Are you okay?" Ken asked.

" Huh?"

" You said something.'' Kendrell answered.

" Oh, it's nothing." Morticia replied.

' Damn it Morticia! How can you think like that? Why should you even think that?' She scolded herself inwardly.

' You're acting like a fucking teenager! Get your acts together' she scolded herself again, gritting her teeth.

'' Listen miss, you've made me talk enough for one day. It doesn't belong to your boss and that's it." Kendrell said.

" Then, what if I let you go and it happens that it's actually hers, what would I tell my boss then? I can't afford to loose my job, It seemed really important to her and..." glancing at her wristwatch, Morticia continued,

" She must be looking for me already." she said before she raising her head.

" Listen, it doesn't belong to her because the package was with me all the while, but since you're having doubts, there's only one way to clear them." said Kendrell.

" Which is?" Morticia asked.

" You're gonna call your friend, so you both can find each other. If your boss' parcel isn't with her, then we'll have no choice but to open the one you're holding. But if it is..." He said, moving two steps closer, " ...If it is, then you're gonna have to compensate me for wasting my time. '' He added.

Sighing deeply, Morticia spoke up,

" Fine!" she said with an eye roll.

Without saying a word, Kendrell opened the door and walked out, leaving Morticia behind. Gritting her teeth, she felt like hitting his head against the wall.

When they got outside the door, they walked several steps away from the restroom before they stopped.

" So? What are you waiting for?" Kendrell asked, reminding Morticia she was to call Jenna.

Without saying a word either, Morticia touched her pocket, before realizing she left her phone at the restaurant. That was also the reason she was searching for Jenna everywhere in the first place.

But her mind was all over the place, making it difficult for her to remember that earlier, when Kendrell had first suggested it.

" I left my phone at the restaurant." she said without looking at Kendrell.

" Really?"

" Yes really." Morticia replied folding her arms yet again, while looking elsewhere.

" Here. Use mine." Kendrell said, handing Morticia his phone.

Just then, she sighted Jenna approaching them absentmindedly, but it didn't stop Morticia from smiling in relief. A beautiful smile that did not go unnoticed by Ken.

" Jen. Over here!" Morticia said, waving at Jenna who also sighted her in no time, all thanks to the not so busy hospital. Not because the hospital wasn't standard or didn't have enough staffers and patients but it was owing to the fact that it was one of the biggest in all of Hentritch and so it was only in rare situations that it was considered 'crowded.'

The pair hastily walked towards each other, Morticia, forgetting that Ken was behind her.

" Where have you been?" they asked each other, simultaneously.

" I've been looking all over for you." they said simultaneously again, causing Kendrell to chuckle, surprisingly.

Even he wasn't expecting to do that. But it didn't change the fact that Jenna glanced at him before looking at Morticia with a look of 'a thousand questions'.

" Who are you?" Jenna asked Kendrell who began thinking of how best to introduce himself.

Just then, it dawned on Morticia that the parcel was the reason he was behind her. Then, a brief glance at Jenna's hand was all it took for Morticia to realize that Kendrell was right all along!

Facepalming, she shut her eyes as she began thinking of the apologies she was to offer Ken and oh, his compensation, forgetting that her actions and expression, including Ken's silence caused Jenna to knit her brows.

" What's going on Ticy?'' Jenna asked.

' Ticy? What a name' Ken mused inwardly.

" It's a long story Jen." Morticia answered.

Then it was also Ken's turn to confirm all he said previously and he did just that.

But being a gentleman, he didn't bring up the issue of the compensation in front of Jenna, he just stood in silence, primarily waiting to get the parcel back from Morticia, while also contemplating if it was even appropriate of him to demand compensation.

" I hope there's no problem though?'' Jenna asked, glancing at Kendrell again.

" I hope so too." replied Morticia.

" What do you mean you hope so too?" Jenna asked.

" A minute Jenny." Morticia said, excusing herself.

'' Please can you come with me?" Morticia asked Kendrell who followed her, without saying a word. Jenna couldn't help but smirk, thinking about when she teased Morticia about having a secret.

When they got a few steps away from Jenna, Morticia spoke up first.

" I'm sorry for wasting your time and I'm sorry for the inconveniences too. Umm, here you go." said Morticia who handed the box to Kendrell.

" So.." Kendrell said, after receiving it from her.

" Yeah." Morticia said looking elsewhere.

" Mm hmm." Kendrell also said, very much looking at her.

Clearing her throat, she spoke up to end the really awkward moment.

" So, what... what I.. what's the compensation?" Morticia asked, loud enough for only Kendrell to hear.

" Nevermind. Forget about it." Ken replied, causing Morticia to widen her eyes, looking at him in surprise.

" Umm Morticia?!" Jenna called out, causing the both of them to turn to her direction as she approached the both of them, while keeping a distance.

' So it's Ticy from Morticia huh?' Kendrell thought inwardly again.

" Madam Carmen just called, she wants the both of us in front of her right now." Jenna said.

" Oh, okay." Morticia answered.

" Goodbye then ladies." waving a little at Morticia and Jenna before he turned and left.

Immediately he left, Jenna who had tried so hard to school her expression, giggled girlishly out of no where.

" What?'' Morticia asked, clueless as to why Jenna giggled.

" You didn't tell me you have such speed Ticy" Jenna said, wiggling her brows.

In her defense, Morticia spoke up immediately, " It's not what you're thinking Jenna. It's just that we had a misunderstanding in the restroom."

" Oh, you both were in the restroom earlier?" Jenna asked with a look of surprise and amusement.

" No. Yes. But it's definitely not what you think. I've never met him before now too." Morticia replied.

" That only means you're fast at fishing my dear friend and I must say you caught a really handsome face, or should I say, handsome fish..."

" Wha_"

" Gotta go!" Jenna said before turning around immediately to leave.

Morticia then ran after her...

" Wait for me!" she said raising her voice a little, almost running after Jenna who had a silly grin plastered on her face as she also hastened her own steps.
