"I'll like to meet this new kid." the master suggested.
Venus bit her lower lips when she heard her father's words. 'Why does he want to meet him?'
"It's no one important. He's just a friend of Julius and he's not even a part of this Academy." she tried to convince him.
"Really? Then that's the more reason why I should see him. I'd like to know the type of friends my students keep." he retorted.
'Since when did he care about such small things? He must have heard of what happened earlier.' Realizing this, she knew that there was no point lying to him anymore.
"Okay! I'll get him to come see you right away." she finally accepted and went off.
Tarot couldn't help but smile mischievously. 'If I can get that kid on my side, everything would go smoothly. All I need is to sweet talk him and promised to repay him with whatever he wanted. Isn't that great?' He wondered. He already had everything planned out and very soon, they'll attack.
Tarot went back to his study and it didn't take too long to hear the sound of the door knocking. Indeed, his daughter was the most effective.
"Come in." he focused on a map on the table as he used a brush and ink to mark out some points.
The sound of the door opening could be heard and two individuals walked in. Due to Tarot's sharp senses, he knew that it was his daughter, and the second individual, had a stronger demeanor. Immediately he walked in, Tarot gripped the brush in his hand a little tighter but no one noticed.
The two of them stood in front of him. Finally, she got the attention of her father. It wasn't hard to tell that this was Venus's father because the resemblance was striking and even a blind man would be able to tell that they were blood-related.
Indeed, Zagan was waiting to be called by him but never expected that it would be that fast. He didn't even have to put in much effort.
"Sit," Tarot spoke without lifting his head from the map he was studying. After a while, he dropped his brush and looked up.
"Excuse us." When he said this, he was looking at Venus so she knew that this statement was directed at her. She didn't make a fuss out of it and just walked out.
After Venus was long gone, Tarot stared at Zagan and began to ask him some questions.
"You created quite a ruckus in my Academy today."
Zagan didn't say anything and simply lifted his brow. Tarot had never come across someone so intimidating that even he had to take a few moments to compose himself.
"What is your name?" he asked again. This time, Zagan paused a while before taking the writing brush and the paper that laid on the table.
"Yang," he wrote. He wasn't stupid to tell them his real name as it would not be beneficial to him. He felt more comfortable telling this name to strangers.
The headmaster took the paper and read, 'Yang' his eyebrow twitched. Yang. Most people with this type of name belonged to the Lynx clan although not all of them but the possibility of Yang belonging to the Lynx clan was high.
He began to rethink. Maybe it wasn't going to be that easy after all.
In the next second, Zagan took the paper and began to write again. "I know of your plan to attack the Lynx clan."
When Tarot saw this, his head creased and his eyebrow furrowed. Is that his main reason for coming here, to send a warning? Well, that's not going to work. I'm definitely taking my revenge no matter who this is.
"And?" Tarot asked. If this young man is here to send a warning, then I might as well send a message to that God damn clan.
Zagan took the brush and paper again. "I want to join your army. That's of course if you want me there. If you reject my offer, I might as well just build an army of my own."
Tarot took the paper and read through it. He didn't know if he should be happy with this statement or consider it a threat. He decided to go for the better option. Letting him in on the plan but of course, he wasn't dumb enough to tell Zagan everything. He was only willing to let him fight and tell him the basics.
"How do I know that I can trust you?" he stared at Zagan quizzically.
Zagan lazily leaned back on the chair, took the paper, and wrote, "Leo clan."
When Tarot saw what was written on the paper, his eyes widened. He stared at Zagan then the paper in his hand then at Zagan. He was astounded to the point that he didn't know what to say.
It's no wonder he was so strong. It obviously had something to do with his heritage. The Leo clan was always known for their strength and victory in battle. They never lost in any battle; it was a shame that they fell and still a mystery how easily the Lynx clan was able to win the war against them.
Ha! Now, he had found a real enemy of the Lynx clan.
'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' Tarot thought. This was a great opportunity for him and he was going to use it tactfully.
"Well, what can I say? I can't possibly reject this request of yours." Torat was more than excited. A soldier from the Leo clan was just the perfect person he needed.
"Alright then. I'll think about this issue and get back to you." didn't want to look eager for more power and wanted to show that he was still the one in control of the attack.
"But for now, thanks for visiting our school. I hope you can stay here for a longer period. It would be good to have you around." Torat was more than happy that Zagan wanted to fight on their side. But it would be better if he stayed in their academy. Who knows, Venus might pick an interest in this fine young man.
If only he knew... If only he knew that this was the forbidden prince of the Leo clan... Then, he wouldn't hesitate to bow to him. Even though Zagan was never exposed to the public because of his horrendous features, being a prince of the Leo clan was like having a god on earth.
Zagan seemed okay with his proposal except for the part of staying in the academy. He had no idea when master Wen Xu would be returning and he didn't want his master to come back and not find him at the temple. He picked up the paper and wrote,
"I have some important matters to handle. I won't be staying here but you can always notify Julius whenever you want me around."
After writing that, he stood from the chair and turned to leave without waiting for a response from Tarot.
Tarot couldn't say anything as he watched the magnificent god, walk out of the door.
It took some time for Tarot to come back to his senses. He had just met someone from the legendary Leo clan and it turned out that the things he heard about them were true. They were indeed domineering.
He pinched the space between his eyebrows and scoffed.
'And to think that I would still meet someone from the Leo clan, Ha! What a surprise? Now all that is left is to slay the king of the Lynx clan and find a way to make Yang marry Venus. Ha! What a perfect plan?'
