"Wait?! What?! I'm back!" Lian couldn't help but exclaim.
However, Tuly and the others looked at Lian with confused expressions. "Are you daydreaming?"
Only then did Lian notice that not a single second had passed while he was on Earth. Even the step he took outside the city gates was exactly the same step he had started before he was sent over. "Errr... no, I was just thinking out loud. That was all."
Carol and Duran looked at each other in response. They knew Lian quite well, so it was strange for them to see Lian speaking his thoughts. After all, he never did that in the first place. "Are you sure you're fine? You look quite distressed."
Lian nodded. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Just thinking about entering Ostalas Forest. After all, we're going there to try my skills out, but I've never really fought any of the Star Energy Creatures."
At the same time, Lian tried to contact Lugg. 'Lugg, are you there? Tell me you can hear me!'
-Uh? Of course, I can hear you.- Lugg then asked something. -By the way, what happened to you just now? For a fraction of a second there, I felt like I had lost my connection with you. It was really, really weird.-
Lian was happy that Lugg answered his call, as well as the fact that he did notice something. Otherwise, Lian would have thought he had really daydreamed. 'That's what I want to talk about. It was like this...' He then explained to Lugg everything that happened.
-Such a thing happened?- Lugg was obviously shocked to hear that.
Naturally, Lian was even more shocked than Lugg. 'You believe me?'
-Idiot. Did you forget we can feel each other's emotions? We can both tell whether the other side is lying or not without a problem. I'm sure you told the truth. The only question here is whether you were hallucinating or it did really happen,- Lugg explained.
'So, do you think I was just daydreaming? Even I'm not sure.' Lian was obviously in doubt about everything that had just happened.
-If I were to guess, I would say it definitely happened.-
'How come?' Lian asked, curious.
-Because hallucinations, daydreams, and things like that take time while they happen in your head. That means you would have walked around, spoken some bullshit without any sense, and things like that. At the very least, you would have stayed still as everything happened in your head. However, such an event that obviously took at least a few minutes happened in a fraction of a second in this world. I don't think you tried to beat the world record for the fastest hallucination that has ever happened.-
Lian had to admit Lugg was right. 'That's true... so, do you have any idea as to why it happened?'
-Hum...- Lugg pondered over it for a bit. -As you know, all crowns have the ability to disappear once their hosts die. I told you before that something like a program exists in me to bring the energy of your body somewhere else. Perhaps this woman you talked to has a similar ability. Above all, you said she could touch me, which makes it very probable.-
'I see... the problem is that knowing such a thing doesn't help us with anything.' Lian couldn't help but sigh.
-Sorry. Other than that, I really can't imagine why she brought you away. However, it's pretty obvious that this won't be the last time you'll see her.-
Lian shrugged his shoulders as he walked with his group. 'Whatever. Since I can't get an answer, I might as well forget it for now. At the moment, I have to focus on my Star Energy Control.'
With that out of the way, Lian turned to Tuly and asked, "Hey, Tuly. We're heading to Ostalas because that's also a good place to try my skills without others seeing. Won't that Star Apothecary get in the way?"
"It's okay," Tuly reassured Lian. "Star Apothecaries don't care much about others' strengths. He won't go around talking about your abilities since they don't like unnecessary trouble."
Grisa and the others were more interested in something else, though. "Hey, forget that for now. Aren't you going to talk about those other things? Errr... what was that? Cellis? Spermi?"
Carol laughed in response, saying, "Hahaha. "It's cells and sperm. Well then, I guess it won't be a problem to talk about it. The only problem is that we weren't doctors, so our knowledge about them is quite limited."
It was then that Lian had an idea. "Wait a minute." He quickly moved back to the queue and called Blan. "Sir Blan, there's something we would like you to hear while we make our way over to Ostalas. Would you mind joining us just for a few minutes?"
Blan looked a little annoyed that Lian had stopped his reading. "Is it really necessary?"
Tuly and his companions got a little nervous after that. They really didn't want to get on Blan's bad side. If Tuly knew Lian was going to talk with Blan, he would have stopped him. 'Please don't make things go out of control.'
The reason Lian did that was that he believed Blan would definitely love to hear about the concept of cells. Obviously, his knowledge of chemistry and Carol's physics should get even more of his attention. Perhaps that would become a path for him to learn about the apothecaries' jobs. "I promise you it won't take more than a few minutes. Someone of your caliber probably already heard about the last descenders' arrival, right? It just so happens that we brought some knowledge from our world, which we would want to validate with a well-read man like yourself."
Blan had to admit he quite liked Lian's flattery. "Very well, let me hear a little about it, and perhaps I can give you a few words as a response." Blan then commanded his Cubi to join the group.
Carol looked at Lian, who nodded at her. Only then did she start. "Alright. Since Senior Blan joined us, I will start with the atoms like I did before. After that, I'll enter into the topic of cells."
And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
