Chapter 10

After closing the door I stared at the empty hallway. I turned on the voice transmitter thats producing red light.

"Aiden any progress?"

"Vere stop calling if it's not important I'm busy."

"Stop complaining cause at the end of the day I'm youre boss. And I need you to contact Lieven Deariel and tell him to get some fresh air he'll know what that is ,and I will be sending Dynamo to him."

"Why don't you tell him yourself?"

"You know what will happen if I do he hates me to death hahaha he'd show up to my room at night after tracking my location from the voice transmitter then commit murder before leaving."

I would certainly do that to if I had the chance if it weren't for the contract.

I opened the door towards my room and untied the tie in my neck before answering.

"The Duchess wants to look into Lady Arundell the first born"

"Hmmm, for what"

"The assassination,so I'm I'm planning on sending one person there"

"You know who her butler is right" Vere replied with a soft voice that would make someone afraid knowing who he really is. Of course I know who he is he's Vesper Lefevre also known in the underworld as .....

"Sigh it's fine just send-... and avoid getting involved too much or I'll have to .... myself."

"That's why I'm telling you this because you hate your workplace getting messed up"

There are three Academy in the empire existing. Children's over six years old can enter after passing the entrance examination. For those who aspire to become a mage have different exam to those who would take the path of a knight. And some are also just normal students but those who are mentioned before recieve special treatments especially those who have an amazing talents.

If I were to send the two to a academy they would be late by a year already and the next examination would be next year. But by pulling some strings it is possible to have them enter now. But as of now I lack power and connection.

And I cannot adopt the two without the permission of my father. So the first thing I need to do is to get his permission or become independent. It's more of a humble but it would be worth it in the future.

I cannot deny that I never really cared about children's who are struggling since I myself have gone through something worse. And it's no use giving sympathy if you can not help them because that is just hypocrisy. You're just gonna making them feel worse by doing so.

But I also cannot deny that I have lingering attachment to those children's going through the same experience.

I dropped the papers I am reading on the table and looked at the door that have been opened showing Vesper.

He bowed politely as he entered the room and before straightening his back and started talking.

"Milady the prisoners have opened their eyes"

Hmmm that's only one day they have a good body constitution.

I stood up from my chair and followed him as we walk down the basement.

"While lacking up the assassins on the basement we also looked around the basement and found a pathway connecting it directly to the mansions training ground. I would also like to apologize by doing so without permission."

"That's good since using the kitchen to go there is really uncomfortable for some reasons. From now on use the new pathway going there and avoid using the one one in the kitchen."

Reaching out destination I looked at the the who's hands and feet are chained. The two still have the fierce mixed with hatred look in their eyes.

Now shouldn't I be the one looking at them like that since they have tried to kill me. Looking around this place really is comfortable. I did not appreciate it the first time I went here but it's wide. There are sofas and a glass table at the center.

"Did you clean this place? it was dusty the first time I got here."

It was really neat it seems that they also fixed it since there was a door now before entering the room unlike before that it was just directly connected with the corridor without a door.

"We did add some furnitures and tidied the place."

There are also weapons on the walls such as bow sword and daggers. It looked more of a hideout. There is also a separate table on the corner it is more taller than the one at the center of the sofas with shelves containing books and other things beside it and a wooden chair. The amazing thing is that there is even a nice comfy bed in the room.

"Are you planning on staying in this room?"I asked jokingly at Vesper as I sat on a sofa facing the three assassins.

"Yes I am" he retorted making me raise my eyebrows.

"You're wierd, well suit yourself just never use the entrance on the kitchen" I did not ask why since it is not my business but I also am curious well who wouldn't be.

"Well I'll be dirtying your room with blood for now. And can you lend me one of your daggers.....and do you have some healing potions?"

With my last sentence he flinched but ended up smiling I don't know but I don't like his smile.

Tying my hair up with a ribbon I looked at the tray Vesper brought me.

"Where did you get this?"

In the tray there are healing potions and a short knife there's even a whip, scalpel, gloves and wait I raised the glass container holding a powder in it it's salt what the-.

Without answering he just showed me a ring.

So it's a spacial ring what does he even keep in there.

I then turned my head over the three who seems to have just known their situation. I simply smiled at them as I wore the white gloves.

"Do you know how to cast a soundproof barrier? they might get noisy."

"For some reasons this room have been made as soundproof" hmm since my father only bought this mansion for whoever built this house he seems to have a lot of shits going on around him,but that makes it more advantageous to me.

Raising my index finger I looked at them this time the playfulness on my eyes disappeared.

"You have one minute to answer each question" I said as placed an a hourglass in the table feom my pocket the time the sand are already at the bottom part of the bottle is completely one minute. I would usually flip this and watch it everytime I can't sleep.

"But before that...pick one of you who will stay or should I say the sacrifice for the other two to be able to leave this room alive."

"You have one minute for that if youre not able to choose within that time limit then we can just choose for you and kill the two that is not chosen simple is it not."

I turned the hourglass on the table and smiled at them.

"Now, take your time I'll be waiting"
