Demyan

I watched Malia's face during dinner as she chewed on her piece of rib. A little bit of sauce was around her mouth which made her look like a chipmunk with her cheeks full. Her eyes caught mine and a bright blush coated her cheeks.

"You have sauce all over your face," I whispered in her ear then chuckled.

She blushed and grabbed her napkin but that still did not help. So I took it from her and wiped the sauce off before I pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. She almost swooned but distracted herself with her drink.

I smiled before I looked up to find Pa's blue eyes staring right through me. I had even forgotten we were with the family. My train of thought was all over the place that for a moment it felt like I was in my own void. When I shyly sent him a grin, he smirked before he took a sip of his whiskey then looked at Dad.
