For Them

Demyan

I paced back and forth in the bedroom as anxiety and stress nibbled away at my ankles. My fingers constantly fiddled with the ring on my left hand as I looked down to the engagement ring Ethan had given me. To think he was so close to officially proposing before we had gotten interrupted.

His friends would have caught us in the moment, in fact they had caught us in the moment because I could tell Ethan was deadset. Once he had something in his head, he would execute it no matter what. The only thing he needed was time.

Seeing his friends popped that bubble because it was no secret they did not approve of me. They had voiced it every time we were together and I believed they were the key reason why Ethan pulled away from me when we first broke up.
