Eternal Veins: Bound by Blood and Love

"Why all this darkness?" It has been haunting my mind for an eternity. I've treaded through its depths for a while now, yet I hold onto the conviction that there's always a glimmer of light at the end of every daunting tunnel. I keep moving forward until I finally come across an old castle, its darkness as impenetrable as ever. I recognize this place as the recurring backdrop of my dreams. This is where the vision always halts, the vision that's been with me since I was a 16-year-old girl. And now, as a mature woman, I've decided that today is the day I'll step inside that ancient castle, seeking answers to the mysteries that have plagued me. ..................................... "Now that you know who I am... do you still hold love for me?" His voice is calm, his expression unreadable. "Yes, I still love you," I respond, my heart unwavering. "No matter your identity, my heart remains bound to you. I yearn to spend the rest of my days wrapped in your embrace."

Chapter 18 his eyes do glows

And whoever is happy will make others happy too. He who has courage and faith will never perish in misery! ~ Anne Frank

...side story...

Miss Rizelle was a well-known celebrity throughout the country, celebrated for her beauty and her reputation for ruthlessness in the film industry. Her influential family background added to the respect she commanded. Jessy's rude attitude was something that didn't sit well with her, and she decided to focus on what mattered most.

"Hi Lucas," she greeted. Mr. Lucas and Miss Rizelle had been long-time friends. "Lucas, it's been a long time," she continued, moving closer to him even though he was trying to ignore her presence.

"You were here last week," he finally responded, his tone brutally cold. His words stung, but Miss Rizelle chose to ignore them. "I see your surroundings have changed a bit. You even hired a new staff." Mr. Lucas corrected her, stating that Jessy wasn't just a staff. Miss Rizelle was puzzled, wondering who this woman was that had captured Mr. Lucas's attention.

"I'll take a stroll around," she announced. Despite her intentions, Mr. Lucas remained cold and impassive. As Miss Rizelle walked to the garden, she was determined to find out who this intriguing woman was.

As she approached Jessy, she observed her freeing a bird from its cage. This was her chance to engage Jessy. "I wonder who you could be. I finally realized—you're a slave brought into a wealthy house. But it seems being surrounded by luxury hasn't taught you to value life brought by money," Jessy mused, looking away dismissively.

"Miss, you look quite nice with your oversized lips. I wonder who tailored this dress for a three-year-old. I doubt you paid for it," Jessy retorted, her words cutting and brutal.

"What do you mean?!" Miss Rizelle exclaimed in anger. "How dare you say such things to me?" She was ready for a confrontation.

"How dare you mention my family?" Jessy responded calmly. Miss Rizelle's anger intensified.

....Jessy's POV...

"Miss Rizelle! What's going on here?" Mr. Lucas's angry voice made me shiver with fear. His chilling demeanor felt suffocating, and his eyes held a strange intensity.

"Mr. Lucas, we were just chatting. You can join us," I attempted to intervene, breaking the tense silence. However, when he looked into my eyes, his coldness paralyzed me. There was something about his gaze that was anything but ordinary.

"Who is she?" Miss Rizelle asked, feigning innocence with tears in her eyes. Mr. Lucas didn't respond immediately. Instead, he drew me closer to him suddenly, which startled me.

"She's my wife," he stated abruptly. I was left speechless, unable to find words to respond. "Wife?" Miss Rizelle was bewildered. "But when did you get married?" Tears streamed down her face as she asked, her emotions raw.

"By contract," he retorted, leaving her stunned and speechless. She looked at me once before fleeing from the garden like a hunted animal. I managed to free myself from Mr. Lucas's grip. "When did we get married?" I questioned him, desperately seeking answers. His gaze averted, refusing to meet mine.

"Why would you use me to save yourself?" My inquiries continued, but he walked away without responding. I chased after him, desperate for explanations. "I just saved you again," he replied, avoiding my gaze. "No, I do," I smiled, sensing a strange connection. "Now I just saved you. Why can't we be friends?" I pleaded, gazing into his eyes. The coldness seemed to dissipate, replaced by a peculiar glow.

"What?!" I exclaimed, my smile growing wider. I couldn't believe his eyes were glowing. He looked away, and just as we were about to explore this revelation further, a call interrupted us. He left me alone in the garden, and as I watched him go, I felt the same fluttering sensation in my stomach that I experienced when I was with Alex...
