Eternal quest: God's hidden path

Check out my other novel too, guys!!! Author's note: Uploading it once more, but as nobody has read it, it won't matter right? I have nothing more to say, whether you are new here or have come from my other novel, I really appreciate it if you at least try it once, I am not an expert yet, so it might not be up to your standards, but I will just say one thing... This kind of story, you won't find anything like this anywhere. So be a part of it when it's in its beginning phase. I may sound narcissistic but that's the truth. And if you are reading till now, then do read the synopsis. This will be the only time I will be showing the POV of the main character. You can think of it as a chapter that will never be uploaded. Topic: The end of everything, the beginning of an end. *** On a night, an eerily feeling lingered in the surroundings. The night sky filled with thunderous lighting, screaming as if sensing an inevitable doom. At the center of different carcasses of the monsters that attacked our planet, I was holding a piece of cloth, that belonged to a woman who disappeared right in front of my eyes and I couldn't do anything. "Please bring her back... I beg you..." Looking at the sky, I begged it. A figure emerged in the sky, a figure which only I have been able to see. "You can ask for anything, I will even give up my life... Just bring her back..." I begged again, kneeling in front of him, I slammed my head on the ground, but he didn't say anything. "Please... help me... I know you can do this... please..." I kept on begging and screaming, but he didn't do anything just moving his hands. No look of remorse was in his eyes, no feeling for us. All of the lifeforms were just a plaything for him, just a means of his enjoyment. Even after knowing all this, I couldn't do anything, "She is everything to me... I will die in her stead... I beg you... bring her back... please..." No matter what I did, nothing happened. It was at this moment I realized, to him we are nothing more than a means of enjoyment. The more sad and despair we felt the more he enjoys. The more we break, the more fun it is for him. I couldn't control my anger at that moment, I was furious, furious at my puny strength, my helplessness, and his cruelty. "I will kill you..." It was then I decided... "I will end your everything..." To end all... "I will make you feel the same thing that I have been through..." To make him feel the same burden... "I will erase your existence from this world..." To free this world... "I will make you regret ever laying your eyes on this world... I will make sure of that..." But nothing went as planned, suddenly out of nowhere, I felt my body hollowing out and I fell on the ground without being able to move at all... But the flames of revenge still lingered in my eyes... *** Discord link: https://discord.com/invite/GK4TB2fw

What happened?

The feeling of dread filled the entire field and in an instant, all the guards along with the 4 trainees and Bibek were pressed to the ground in their original position.

With time the pressure increased so much that the few guards who were still standing also couldn't bear the pressure and their knees gave up. The only ones remaining standing were the instructor Brain and Sophia.

It was then, that the name of Ravi escaped from her mouth, but nobody heard her except Brain as he was the only one with a clear mind and everyone else fainted due to increasing pressure.

When Brain looked around him everyone was pressed to the ground, deeper below the surface, and if the pressure further increased, there would be no way they would survive anymore. So to resist the pressure he released his aura.

Brain didn't hesitate to give it his all and released another mountainous pressure, his aura not only covered the ground but the entire base and resisted the pressure with all his might. Both auras collided one attacking and one defending which resulted in a devastating explosion the ground started to quake but all the guards and trainees were protected due to Brain's aura.

But it was all for naught. Soon the pressure increased so much that even Brain wasn't able to handle that and was pressed against the ground. He gritted his teeth, blood gushing from it but he couldn't get up and soon he too fell unconscious.

Only Sophia was standing still and didn't know what to do anymore. She didn't know what was happening or how she was still standing when even the most veteran guards were unconscious with blood dripping from their noses and ears.

She didn't know what to do, how could she stop this? That wasn't the only she was worried about, she felt a familiar presence in that aura, the presence of her childhood friend Ravi who was lost six years ago.

Her thoughts were chaotic, the only thing she wanted was to stop this hell of a time, so with no other way, she just yelled as loud as she could, " Stop it, Ravi. Everyone will die!!!"

It was then something unexpected happened, the mountainous aura started to recede.

In an instant, the sky-reaching pressure was nowhere to be found. Seeing the pressure gone, Sophia sighed in relief, but when she looked around a worried look appeared on her face.

She hurriedly went to Bibek to check whether he was ok or not, and after confirming he was still breathing, she heaved a sigh of relief. But when she tried to wake him up, she couldn't. So she went to Brain but this time he woke up as he was unconscious for the least of the time.

After Brain woke up and looked around him, he asked Sophia anxiously," Where is he?!"

Knowing the severity of the situation, she replied immediately," I don't know. When you went unconscious, I didn't know what to do, so I screamed for all this to stop and the pressure went away."

Listening to her Brian speculated that the man was still there and he knew he couldn't face him all alone. So, he immediately pressed the button of the waistband in his hand and a blue screen with the logo of a man with a sword in his hand appeared.

It was the call to the warrior's headquarters, and after a beep, someone picked up the call.

[ Warriors headquarters, how many I help you?] A girl spoke from the other side.

"Hello, it's Brain. A third-stage warrior, requesting backup as soon as possible. We have encountered a human-looking monster whose grade surpasses my abilities." The brain immediately stated its purpose.

[ Is it at the fourth stage?] The girl questioned with a worry in her voice.

"I don't think so. It surpasses the fourth stage."

[All right, I will immediately send the backup. How many guards do you have left?]

The girl immediately asked as it was a troublesome situation. The brain was only at the third stage while the enemy was probably at the fifth, it could lead to a catastrophe.

Brain breathed out before replying, "I am the only one remaining, everyone has collapsed because of the aura of that monster."

Now it was a critical situation, a third stage warrior facing a fifth stage alone. The outcome was expected. Now the only hope remaining was for the backup to reach them quickly and save as many people as they could.

[The backup is heading your way. Stall for the time and evacuate as many people as you can.] After saying that she ended the call.

Brain and Sophia were looking at each other and they both knew the situation was dread, and if the monster wasn't killed then their village would cease to exist just like the many others.

"I have to kill that monster." Brain spoke while taking out a pendant from his pocket.

When Brain said 'Kill that monster', Sophia felt a sudden rage in her heart, her eyes glinted when she glared at Brain and she felt a new different feeling that she never felt before.

That might be a monster for them but he was her love and everything. So she clenched her hand to calm her anger down and asked but with a cold voice,

"And how will you kill him?"

The brain suddenly felt a sudden chill hearing her voice and looked at Sophia only to find her eyes shining blue and ground around Sophia turning into ice.

He instinctively stepped back and prepared himself for a sudden attack.

Seeing him taking a defensive stance and facing her, Sophia realized her power was going out of control. So she calmed herself down and the frozen ground turned back to normal.

"Sorry about that." She apologized and continued," How will you kill him?" But this time without the cold voice.

Brain calmed himself down and spoke while maintaining a certain distance from her," The pendant in my hand is special." He looked at his hand where the pendant was taken out from his pocket and continued," I found it during my exploration, it gives you power but with a certain prize."

He stopped for a moment remembering the time he got the pendant, it said it would fulfill his wish and the cost would be, that it would take just one thing away from him.

His heart skipped a beat and he gulped, just remembering the smile of the demon made him feel so scared that he clenched his hand and with a resolute expression, he spoke,

"I will use this pendant, and eliminate that monster, even if I have to sacrifice myself."

He was ready to kill himself if it meant the village's people would be safe. His gaze was firm and if he could save people before his death, then he would die proudly. It was the only thing he wanted, so he was willing to trade himself as the cost for his wish to eliminate that monster.

But his firm gaze was gone and he frowned when he felt a cold sensation in his feet, only to find his left leg was frozen half.

He looked at Sophia was head down facing the ground when she spoke with a heart-piercing cold voice," If you say 'monster' one more time, I will kill you."

Brain was shocked and puzzled to see Sophia talking to him like that, was he wrong calling a 'monster' a monster? No, he wasn't but it wasn't a monster for Sophia. Even if he was she didn't care.

Meanwhile, Sophia herself wasn't aware why she spoke like that and threatened to kill him. The new feeling she felt before was resurfacing again, and she believed she 'would' kill him if he spoke again.

Not wanting to speak to him anymore, she wanted to confirm whether her suspicion was true or not, whether he was Ravi or not.

So, she ran towards him at the full speed at which she could control herself, and seeing her speed Brain was shocked as his eyes couldn't follow her movements.

'How is that possible?' he thought but couldn't follow her as his legs were frozen.

At the entrance gate of the village.

Sophia arrived shortly after she left the training ground and rather than being shocked with her unbelievable speed, she was shocked and terrified seeing what was in front of her.

'What happened?!' was her only thought.
