Jilun stood still as his eyes remained stuck on monstrosity that was the magical beast. He had seen images of it before that were taken many decades ago, so he knew exactly what the being in front of him was.
The Green Tiger.
It's hunting terrain was known to be large forests. It's multicolored fur allowed it to blend in with its surroundings greatly in order to avoid detection and hunt for prey. Green Tigers were particularly dangerous as they were extremely fast and accustomed to the obstacle filled woods. This made them extremely hard to escape when they sense your presence as they would hunt based on a persons aura, not their scent. Aura is the natural fluctuations a living being emits, and is incredibly difficult to mask. It's also very hard to trace, as it easily mixes in with the natural aura of the surroundings.
Jilun was surprised to encounter one, much less so early. They had barely stepped into the deeper part of the forest, as the herbs and plants were left on the borders as a precaution to stay away from any route a Magical Beast would possibly take.
Jilun wanted to act on his father's training but found himself frozen. He had never experienced true danger before. Just the gaze of the Green Tigers green eyes was enough to make him forget all he had learned to do.
The Green Tiger slowly raised his head from the pile of the now broken tree stem, slowly adjusting itself to face the duo that was laying on the ground.
Jia instantly recognized Jiluns situation. She raised her hand into the air as she brought it down onto him.
*Slap!*
Jilun woke up out of his daze as he looked up at Jia. Jia brought her hand down to his chin as she cupped his cheek.
"Does that filthy tiger really amaze you so much you had to stare?"
Jiluns face turned into confusion. Her sudden question made him temporarily forget the situation.
'What the hell is she talking about?'
Jias hand released his cheek as she brought his hand onto her face.
"I'm sure my face is much prettier~"
*Swoosh!*
The Green Tiger suddenly launched at the duo. It's sudden pounce picked up wind around it as the many dead leafs flew up with it's current. Jia glanced at the tiger who was making its way toward her before continuing her conversation with Jilun.
"Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to touch my face anytime you want in the future"
She mischievously smiled before picking him up and pushing him.
"Hurry up and get going"
Jilun looked surprised and worried at the same time as he looked back at her.
"What about you?"
She mockingly smiled at him.
"Want me to run with you so that if he catches us, we both die?"
Jia suddenly took off in the opposite direction.
"We'll see whos aura he will find tastier!"
Jilun spared no time to worry over her as the fear he was feeling caused his body to run on its own, sprinting as fast as he could with his dagger in hand.
***
Jia never turned to look at the fleeing Jilun. She already knew that if she was still alive, the Green Tiger would never go for Jilun. This was simply because she knew she possessed a richer aura than him.
Eyeing the approaching Green Tiger, Jia manifested a strange knife in front of her, almost as if it was out of thin air. Its color a dark, dull red. Almost no light reflected off the short blade. The Green Tiger disregarded this phenomenon as he continued his lunge at her.
But as the Green Tiger took to the air in a leap, it suddenly froze, its legs collapsing to its side as its body fell motionlessly onto the dirt forest floor. Jia watched this all with no surprise visible on her face as she made her way up to the fallen tiger.
Once in front of the tiger, Jia picked up its huge head as she made the tiger face her eyes. The weight of the tiger seemed to not pose a struggle for her at all.
The Green Tiger looked at the eyes that shone a deep dark red.
Fear.
Violent fear.
It had never felt such a feeling before. Being the top predator of the large forest, it had simply never encountered any being that could challenge it in its time of living. And its not like it hadn't seen a human before, it had actually killed many. But this being... was it even a human?
"I wonder just how much uglier your face can get..."
She brought her short blood red knife as she inched closer to its eyes. The Tiger immediately tried to move, sending its brain signals all over its body, urging it to take action, but to no avail.
No matter how hard the Green Tiger tried to move, its body wouldn't listen, wouldn't move. But as if answering his prays, Jia stopped her knifes advance.
"Were these the eyes you laid upon him?"
She looked deeper into the Tigers eyes, causing its eyes to stare back at her, stunned.
"Your eyes were blessed enough, you have no need to possess them anymore."
She stabbed out one of the tigers eyes, but the tiger made no sound. It's not that it didn't want to, but it just couldn't. The tiger felt the agonizing pain flooding his face but could do nothing about it. Jia removed the knife from its eye as she brought it to her mouth, licking the dripping blood off of the knife.
"Don't worry, you won't die..."
She brought the knife up to its other eye. The tiger noticed this and knew all to well what was next, its pupil widening it fear.
"... you still have another eye left..."
She suddenly stopped the knife on its nose.
"But you can't be let off that easily"
She looked up to the sky as if pondering about something.
"I still have a couple of minutes before I have to return to him... but i'll be sure to spend a lot of time with you so that you won't miss me~"
She stabbed his nose, blood gushing down his face, painting the previously green fur red.
"I can't have you forgetting me, right?"
