A Test

Instructor Fengges eyes turn to face the goddess, though his face blank without expressing any confusion.

Xuanyin was an oddity to even himself. To him, it seemed like this incredibly talented disciple came from seemingly out of nowhere. It was only recently that she was assigned to his building by the grounds master himself.

It left a lot of questions at the tip of his tongue.

The building of fire wasn't really the place to house such a genius. It was something that was rather obvious and had no attempt to be hidden as it was common knowledge. Not only that, though Xuanyin may seem to struggle to match him, he knew all too well it was anything but the case. She was a girl young enough to be his granddaughter, yet he was never able to see through her.

Though, it was none of his business, and as an measly instructor, was the least of his concerns. But he had to admit, her senses were amazing. At such a young age, she was already able to tell energy fluctuations. It really had him feeling as if a 1,000 year old monster sat disguised as a human among him.

Xuanyin's blue eyes wandered the disaster site, taking in the details of the event that had played before her, later landing her eyes on Jia and Jilun.

"Quite special to cause the Disk of Nature to crack, you wouldn't mind if I participated with the trails, would you Instructor Fengge?"

Fengge look puzzled at Xuanyins remark.

'The collapse of the Disk of Nature was the girls doing?'

Xuanyin wasn't a regular student in the eyes of Fengge. Not only possessing great martial knowledge, but power as well. Speaking just a bold remark, that a disciple new to the martial way was able to destroy a artifact created by the founder of the grounds, a prominent master in the arts, so easily? Even he, nor the grounds master could achieve such a feat, which was one of the main reasons that he had discarded such a thought, for it was simply, not possible.

He just couldn't wrap his head around the possibility of such an event and took it as Xuanyin's way of expressing interest in the duo. Fengge nodded as he responded to her question.

"It would not be a problem, we just had a minor mishap."

Of course, considering Xuanyin's position in the grounds, rejection wasn't an option for him to begin with.

"We shall move on to the combat test next, the strength test shall be conducted at another time."

Instructor Fengge walked through the somewhat stripped door. It was decided that he would first inform the grounds master should the oddity of this girl be true.

Seeing as Jia and Xuanyin stood still, Jilun followed Fengge first. He was already used to her babying act, almost as if she was his mother.

Xuanyin stood still as she delicately brought her hand up, pointing in the direction of the door with her pearly hand slightly above her waist.

"You may go ahead first"

Her blue eyes reflected the calm of the ocean themselves, a ripple not appearing in within their infinite sea.

Jia's red eyes only shone in response.

"Resorting to such means, you only prove to amuse me. Such a desperate final struggle, and I can't wait any longer to see it play out"

Jia smiled as she started her walk towards the door, only leaving the fragrance of her rosy hair in her wake.

Xuanyin had no emotional response to such a strange claim, her face remaining cool and indifferent, only calmly following behind.

Fengges quarters were very close to the training grounds. As the building for fire is separated into different sections, most of the residences, especially the new ones, surround the border of the main building.

As Jilun walked with the group, the eyes of the other disciples walking in the vicinity only had their sight attracted by the angel that walked among the mortals. It seemed that, regardless of her high status, it still failed to fend off such shamelessness, though, not unwarranted, as Jilun couldn't help sneak a glance once or twice.

Fengge arrived at the training grounds, opening the grand double doors.

As Jilun approached it, nothing had changed. The training ground looked as he had first saw it, it was again empty.

Jilun couldn't help but question it.

"Instructor, why is it that the training grounds is always empty? Is there another location that is often practiced by disciples of this building?"

Fengge turned to face him.

"It is normally heavily practiced in, it is just that it has been temporarily closed at the request of the grounds master for the duration of Xuanyin's stay in our building."

Jilun surprisingly looked at Xuanyin. It seemed this angel was true beyond whatever he had within his expectations. A personal request at the command of the grounds master? Truly extraordinary.

As the group made its way in with the doors closing behind them, the instructor spoke.

"For the next test, we will be testing for general combat knowledge and awareness"

Instructor Fengge started making his way down the flight of stairs. but before he could advance any further with his descent, a melodious voice spoke out.

"I would like to be the opponent to test them in this exam Instructor"

A white robe figure suddenly passed him, her robes waving in the air of her motion.

Instructor Fengge stopped in his steps, looking at Xuanyin, who had already passed him, awkwardly.

"Sure, It is not a problem"

Though, within his head, Fengge thought otherwise.

'Isn't Xuanyin rather pushy today?'

He had never seen Xuanyin so active and hands-on before, compared to her normal reserved personality, it was a stark contrast.

As Xuanyin further descended the stairs, she jumped, lightly gliding through the air like a fairy.

Setting her two feet upon the platform of the platform, her robes fluttered beside her.

looking back at the trio in the raised platform, she spoke.
