Chapter 14: Hunter's License

After reaching the City hunter's office, he got down the taxi and paid for it.

The City hunter's office is located in hunters street that was not far away from the city gate in the south of the city.

The street is densely populated and almost everything related to a hunter are available in the street.

Either it is hunting equipment ranging from low leveled and high level hunters or potions and other technological products.

The hunters can also directly sell the monster carcass and herbs which they had collected during their adventure into the wild.

Every major city will have a hunter's street and all the matters related to hunters will be their main aim. The level of hunter's street can be used as an indicator of a city's development.

There are many factors which define the level of a hunter's street such as the amount of business that goes through every day, level of technology, major powerhouses etc..,

The City hunter's office is a three storey building. It was very well maintained and looked very neat and disciplined.

After entering the building, he came to the reception area on the ground floor.

"What can I do for you, sir?" asked the receptionist.

The receptionist is a beautiful blonde girl with blue eyes. Her voice had a soothing effect and was very comfortable listening to.

"Hello, Big sis! I want to apply for a hunter's license." replied Allen while blinking his sparkling eyes.

His way of address surprised the blonde beauty but she didn't dislike it as it came from the mouth of a handsome little guy.

That's right, after almost 2 weeks of training, it isn't only his strength that has improved. He turned from a mud fish into a handsome guy. Mainly his eyes, they were sparkling like gems.

Though the blonde beauty was doubtful whether his strength really reached 500kg, she could only do her job and guide him to the testing room.

The testing room was not managed by human beings but was managed by an Artificial Intelligence so that people could keep their details private.

Soon after entering the room, he was greeted by a human sized robot which called itself Doctor Panther. Ignoring its eccentricity, Allen asked about the procedure to get a hunter's license.

He was directed to a scanning device on the left side of the door which started recording various details like fingerprints, iris scan, blood test. There were even some tests whose purpose he didn't even understand .

After his data was recorded, he was asked to confirm his identity, which he did and the robot directed him towards a familiar but unfamiliar machine.

The machine just looked like the strength testing machine at his school but this machine looked more advanced with a lot of monitoring sensors so as to avoid people cheating.

After all, he heard that a hunter's license was associated with a lot of privileges and benefits. There were people in the past who took some drugs or added some mechanical enhancements to their bodies in order to get the hunter's license.

After that, the rest of the process didn't deviate much from the strength training machine at the school.

After punching ten consecutive times with a strength exceeding 500kg within 30 seconds, the machine accepted his results and declared him that he was qualified to hold a hunter's license though it was supposedly the lowest Level 1 hunter's license with the least privileges.

After the test, The robot guided him to the right corner of the room where there a lot of suitcases are neatly piled up. They are marked with a logo of a gun and a sword crossed over each other.

That is exactly the logo of the hunter's union.

The robot started speaking again, "Here! This is the level 1 hunter's kit. Every new hunter will receive one. They will be helpful in your adventures."

Saying so, it picked up a box and and after entering his biometric details into the box, it gave the box to Allen.

The box weighed about 4-5kg. Though he was eager to check out the contents of the box, Allen controlled his excitement and walked out of the testing room.

While walking out of the hunter's office, he once again met the blonde beauty whose eyes lit up looking at the box in Allen's hand.

"Seems like little brother is a little genius too. I even forgot to ask your name." she said with a smile.

"Allen, what about yours?" said Allen while stretching out his hand for a handshake.

"It's Patricia. Nice meeting you Allen." said Patricia while shaking his hand.

Just as they were about to continue their discussion, another person entered through the main door and walked to the reception.

"Alright, I got to go. This is my contact number. You can contact me if you have any doubts regarding the Hunter's organization." saying so, she handed him her contact details and hurried went to receive the guest.

After coming out of the Hunter's office, Allen went straight to his home as he was eager to check out the contents of the hunter's kit. He covered the kit with a plastic cover so as to avoid attracting people's attention.

After silently smuggling the box to his room without the notice of his mother, he closed his room door and sat on his bed and place the box in front of him.

After scanning his biometrics, The box opened with a click.

The first thing he noticed after opening the box was a Camouflage combat suit. The material of the suit is very soft and tough. It should be able to defend against the sharp claws of a level 1 monster beast.

There were also the Night vision goggles, low level monster spray, a vial of healing medicine and a vial of basic antidote.

The last item was a rectangular chip. This should be the special comm chip which is like a plug in which can be plugged in to either a watch or a computer and can connect to the hunter's internal network.

He hurriedly took out his old electronic watch and replace the chip with the special comm chip.

The watch screen lit up and after connecting to the internet, it immediately started downloading a lot of files and progress slowly started going up from 1%.. 2%...5%..
