Precious's lovely eyes gazed at him with an askance expression and then she looked away, trying to shrug off his arm from her neck. Why would he think she was falling in love with Chris? Did it ever appear to Lucas that Precious was falling in love with Chris?
Due to Precious's reaction, Lucas couldn't continue his statement the way he had planned. "I'm saying this because you might put Chris in danger if you fall in love with him."
"I don't feel anything for Chris!" Raising her gaze bravely, she firmly said to the beast walking beside her. "And why would you think I have feelings for Chris? You are all beasts! I can never like a beast!"
Precious wasn't yelling but her expression seem to be fiercer than her words.
Lucas smirked and held his hands back only for him to sit on Clint's back who had been following his master's pace gradually.
Precious glared at Lucas as he sat down comfortably on his pet. Then she had her brows up, questioning his action with her expression. Her hands were holding Rainey firmly.
"I like this side of you. The fierce little bunny," Lucas teased her.
Chris was still standing in front of Precious's room, laughing, but neither Lucas nor Precious cared.
Precious rolled her eyes. "What brought you guys to my door?" She asked after questioning herself about what had happened to bring up the unreasonable conversation she was sharing with a mad beast. Thus, she remembered that the beasts knocked on her door.
They didn't knock on her door when she locked herself in that room for two days so what was going on? Why did they suddenly care?
Precious avoided Lucas's emerald eyes and glanced down at her cat, acting as if she was ignoring his presence.
Lucas wasn't as tall as Chris. He was tall but not tall enough to Precious's liking. He had the face of a wicked teacher, who was always strict, however, he was handsome and huge as well. His jaws were filled with hair, thus, he appeared manlier than Chris because of his beard.
His hair also had a color mixed with his chartreuse hair. Dark strands of hair were combined with his weird hair color. Precious had been meaning to ask him if he had his hair dyed or if it was naturally in that color that matched the color of his eyes.
Of course, they weren't human so Precious wouldn't be surprised if he opened his mouth to confirm that his hair color was natural.
Precious noticed that Lucas preferred to dress formally even though his attire didn't have to be a suit. While Chris loved dressing casually, caring less about his environment.
Lucas shrugged in response to her question, piercing through her heart sharply with the expression his eyes displayed. It felt as if he was going to consume her just as his pet, Clint usually reacted. Precious took in a deep breath, telling herself internally that she would get used to their weird features.
She turned her head left and then right and heaved a deep sigh. Precious hoped to be able to cope with the bizarre environment and perhaps, even grow to love it.
"I'm serious, Lucas! I don't have feelings for Chris! Why would you think so?" She asked when all he did was stare at her as if he could see her soul.
"The way you look at him, of course. You are so dazzled by him, Precious," he answered.
Precious glanced in the direction of her room where Chris was standing. "I stare at him that way because he's so handsome and I can't believe that he actually exists." The girl was grinning childishly as she explained the reason for her actions towards Chris's appearance.
Lucas shook his head and snapped his fingers. "What about me?"
Precious glanced at him and nodded her head. "You are handsome but you don't look cute. You are always like your pet, hateful," she answered.
Lucas wasn't satisfied with her answer but then again her opinion shouldn't matter to him. He looked away. "Well, I would love to see your reaction when you set your terrible eyes on Edgar," he uttered and suddenly stood up, stunning Precious. The shock made her step back. She wasn't even given the chance to process what he said about Edgar.
So he isn't ugly, huh? Precious thought to herself.
"Chris!" Lucas shouted at Chris, who was laughing. And as if Lucas released Chris from the spell he was under by calling his name, Chris returned to himself. He let his shoulders and shook his head before walking to the creatures standing far before him.
"You are resuming school tomorrow, so Edgar instructed us to prepare you for tomorrow. By the way, what's with the cap you have on?" Lucas asked, taking action by removing the cap before she could explain.
Precious was left embarrassed so she looked down. Why was Lucas never giving her the chance to think about his statement before shocking her? Did he just say that Edgar instructed them to prepare her for school tomorrow? Facing the ground, she asked herself inwardly.
However, to Precious's surprise, Lucas didn't react the way she expected him to after seeing the appearance of her hair, he only handed the cap to her. "So we are starting by having breakfast," he informed her while walking away with his pet.
Precious glanced up at the cruel beast, walking away and groaned in dissatisfaction.
Chris stopped next to her and placed his hand on her head. "Why did you mess up your hair?" He asked.
Precious looked up at him. "I hated my long hair," she answered.
"You were pretty with long hair," he told her.
"I know." Precious then decided to ask about their hair. "About your hair and Lucas's," she wasn't able to ask because Chris answered her while wearing the knit cap on her head.
"Yes, it's natural but humans can't see our hair color unless we let them," he answered.
"So you let me see it," Precious wanted to confirm.
Chris nodded and withdrew his hands from above her head after wearing the cap on her head. "Edgar wants you to be part of us," Chris said.
"Beasts?" Precious was surprised. Chris made her walk with him because he took the first step.
"Yeah, beast."
"I don't want to be a beast," Precious uttered, not bothering to ask how it was possible to turn a human into a beast or if it was possible.
"Hey!" Chris raised his voice, causing Precious's to turn white as a sheet as she was caught off guard. He smirked. "Do you have a bank account? You mustn't be penniless when you are Edgar's."
Startled Precious pondered why everything in the mansion was more than weird, especially their attitudes. However, "I don't have a bank account," she answered.
