Entrapped In His Deadly Charms

~Excerpt~ "Excuse me, Mrs Blackwood." He said to me as we stepped out of the courtroom. My feet halted on the spot, my face reddening with so much rage I tried to conceal it to no avail. The sound of the word Mrs sounded sour in my ears, especially having him call me that. Not that I was not at the age I should have gotten married, but because I had betrayed my boyfriend by marrying another man. "I am your husband now, at least I deserve a kiss from my newly wedded wife. That is the norm after couples get married, right?" Now what was he saying? He must be totally insane! It felt as if my fist cracked because of how much it clenched. Wasn't it enough he made me betray my boyfriend? He is not even ashamed of his greediness. Not even a bit of it showed on his face! "I've given you what you want, Liam Blackwood; a signature of my marriage to you. Now if you know what's good for you, it's left for you to give me what I want as we agreed." "I never said I was not going to keep to our agreement. Agreement is an agreement!" He exclaimed, chuckling as if I had said something amusing. "However..." He said and paused in a way that made me feel my heart also paused and started beating again, racing with anticipation when he began stepping closer to me. I instinctively moved backward, trying to create some distance between us, but he kept advancing, his eyes locked on mine with an intensity that made my breath catch in my throat. He continued until I felt my back hit on his godforsaken car. I could feel his red blood eyes bore into mine and his hands trapping me against his car as if caging a cat that fought to escape. "It seems you have forgotten the meaning of marriage, my Little Bunny. Maybe I have to remind you." I could see that playful smile return on his lips, it irked me so much that the need to smash it off his face irked my hands. He then leaned in closer, his breath whispering against my ear. "Marriage means a legally recognized union between two individuals," His voice was barely audible, but his words resonated deeply into my ears as he began to explain what he knew as marriage. "characterized by emotional commitment, legal responsibility, and social recognition, often involving mutual respect, trust, and a...deep emotional connection." The way he stressed the last words made my heart skip remembering the state of the contract. Was the deep emotional connection going to happen between us? This was killing me already. The next I saw was his hands trailing down the angles of my neck, going towards my cheeks and... "Can't we...do this...some other time? I mean, we cannot just do it here...in front of people." I tried to speak some senses into him, feeling so embarrassed and flushed at the touch of his hands. I didn't know why it made my heart beat so fast again, like it did before. "Yes, we can my darling. We are a couple, after all, so it's nobody's business. No law is against husband and wife kissing in public. It's only a kiss, I didn't ask you for sex here." He returned his hand to my neck again. I couldn't get over the sensational touch that tingled in my stomach. We can't do this now for goodness sake! People are looking! "Now, make me feel the sweet touch of your lips, my Little Bunny." As he finished speaking, his lips brushed against my ears sending a thrill through my entire body. Next, he lowered his face until it was just an inch away from mine. ~~~ I joined the contest "Viral Book Call" with this novel. Please support me. Thank you so much.

Crushing Denial

Sophia's cheeks flushed with embarrassment and anger as she realized Jaden had noticed her gaze. She swiftly turned to face him, her eyes flashed at him with indignation as if she wanted to strangle him. "Jaden, that's inappropriate and unprofessional," She hissed in a low and even tone.

Liam, oblivious to the exchange, continued speaking giving out orders right from his receptionist down to his secretary for them to take care of his awaited important guest. While Sophia's attention was still fixed on Jaden, her face grew hotter, her anger simmering just below the surface.

Jaden, seemingly unfazed, smiled charmingly and leaned in closer, his voice taking on a flirtatious tone, "Ah, come on, Sophia, don't be like that. I'm just trying to compliment you."

She shot Jaden a withering glance, her eyes daring him to push the issue further.

The air grew thick with tension as the two engaged in a silent standoff, Liam's voice fading into the background as Jaden slowly pulled her out of the office suppressing a peal of laughter and leaving Liam in his deep expectations.

As Liam sat back on his chair, his heart pounded, waiting for her intended arrival and Blark his wolf was the most excited.

'I can't wait to meet our mate again' he chimed in his mind.

'I'm afraid she might not want me after all that happened between us then. Also, she is human and may not understand our bond.' That was his greatest fear. What if they finally meet again and it becomes his fate?

'Definitely, she would accept you. All you need to do is to show her how much she means to you.' Blark said and Liam nodded to his wolf.

30 minutes passed and Liam thought to himself, was she truly coming?

The heat of expectations rising from the pit of his stomach now pushed him to his feet. He stared out through the window a feeble attempt to still his high spirit.

Finally, a knock came at the door which made his beating heart almost pop out of his chest.

"Come in," His voice resonated with a jolt on his skin as Blark almost took control in excitement.

"She's here! She's here! I can smell her already. Oh, Liam, I'm so glad!'

As Blark's excitement mounted, calming his racing heart and composing himself became a crucial task, so he took a deep breath to rein in his emotions and avoid frightening the woman away once again.

"Good day, Mr." The soft echoes of her voice made him slowly turn his gaze, revealing a beautiful woman in a sleek blue jumpsuit, hugging her figure and perfectly showcasing her breathtaking physique.

In her hand was a designer's purse which further emphasized her luscious golden hair and eyes that glinted just as the color of her hair, adding a charming feminity that made her more alluring.

The countless dead ends, the disappointments, the false leads – all were forgotten in this moment.

With the uncontrollable racing of his heart, he moved forward, his voice came barely above a whisper. "I have for so long waited to see you again, my little Bunny."

After all these years, could it be true? Could he finally find this woman he'd lost? The one who still invaded his thoughts and dreams? But then, as he stepped forward to meet her, he saw her take a slight step back and halt with her eyes spreading wide.

What in the world was I seeing? I'm hallucinating right?! There was this tremendous wave of shock that ran through me. I could feel the blood drain from my face, my jaw dropped, my skin pale as if I had seen a ghost. Without cause, my feet took a step back.

"Olivia, my dear, it's me. Don't you remember me?" I felt his excitement in the way he spoke but that only made my heartbeat palpitate.

God, why? How? How on earth could it be him? This is a dream and someone needed to wake me up.

"Olivia, you...you remember me right? It's me...the boy in..."

"Don't come close to me." The words left my mouth in a way I least expected. It was harsh, commanding, and hurtful and he received it in the same way it was said; shocking.

He halted on the spot with his raised hands hanging in the air.

"Olive, it's me... Liam Blackwood. We were classmates in high school then." He was trying to explain.

I needed to act like I didn't know him like we had never met before. Never in this life, so I said, "I don't think we've met before, Mr."

"It's me, Liam, in high school, please remember me." There was a sardonic tone in his voice which suddenly brought an ache to my heart. The looming thought of that night came vividly into my mind again.

"I don't remember any...Liam." I kept a stoic expression, doing my best not to look defeated and weak in front of him. I don't know how I was doing it but I was surprisingly performing well. "Besides, that was a long time ago. If there was someone like that, I have totally forgotten." Adding this further statement made him look defeated, I could see his face darkening, and his excitement turn sour.

Liam couldn't take it as his jaws dropped at her response. Was what she was saying the truth or she was just acting because she was angry at him for not standing up for her then? It ached his heart a lot that he felt downcasted and tears forced to form in his eyes.

It was all his fault then.

"All these years, I've been searching for you Olivia. I swear, I have had sleepless nights since that last moment we shared..."

"What last moment are you talking about?!" Her voice cut him off. "Are you alright, Mr? Don't tell me I've come all the way here to meet this! Or don't you know why you invited me over?! What sort of nonsense is this?!" There was anger in her voice throwing a deeper shock at his face. She spoke really different from the Olivia he knew. He could feel his hope draining and his eyes wetted with tears.

'This is bad, Liam this is bad! I'm sure she's the one.' Blark was hyperventilating and Liam at this point doubted at the moment. Was it truly her or was he foolishly stalking another woman?

'Liam, there's nothing to doubt, she's the one. I know she's acting like that because she's angry at you. She's our mate, can't you feel it? It's the same feeling you had that time, enough to prove that she's the one. Please don't cry, Liam, please don't.' Blark was encouraging.

Blark was right, if she was not the one, his instinct would not be drawing him to her with this undeniable pull. The intensity of his emotions surprised him - he had never felt such a deep longing and hurt before. He felt a strong desire to be with her, to possess her completely. But she was right, things had changed; they were adults now. No amount of amazing words can change what had happened in the past.

What was he to do so she wouldn't run away again?
