Gu Xijiu looked back slowly, only to see that Di Fuyi had just briefly opened his eyes. He held part of her clothes in one of his hands. However, it slipped away from his grasp when she turned to look at him, as he was still too weak to exert much energy.

He woke up! He was really awake! His eyes were really open! Profoundly, he fixed his gaze on her.

Their eyes met. Gu Xijiu felt as though she was hit by something overpowering, as all the depressing thoughts vanished almost instantaneously. Like a ray of sunlight penetrating through the dense clouds onto the earth, she was overwhelmed with immense joy. Her heart was immediately lightened from the burden that she had been clinging on. Her nose twitched, and she began to weep.

She pinched her lips into a line as she blinked to wipe away her tears. She held his hands. "You are finally awake!"

His hands were still cold. Her hands, however, were even colder than his, as though a pair of ice sticks.
