In the afternoon, Grayson sat in his office, his mind filled with inappropriate images of the little woman beneath him in ecstasy. He held a document for half an hour without flipping a page. His assistant, amused and shaking her head, muttered, "So even the wise and mighty CEO loses his wits in love!"
Unable to contain himself any longer, Grayson picked up his suit jacket hanging on the back of his chair and swaggered out.
"CEO, this document is urgent, please sign it first!"
"I'll handle everything, what do I need you for?" Grayson shut his assistant up with a single sentence.
Grayson went to Lena's office, disappointed to find her desk empty. He then marched to Raven's office and learned that Lena had taken leave without informing him.
"This woman can't stay put; it seems I'll have to keep a close eye on her from now on."
"If Lena wants leave in the future, have her talk to me!" Grayson left Pei Xiuyun's office after dropping these words. The colleagues in the office exchanged puzzled looks.
Outside the office building, Grayson called Lena's phone.
"The subscriber you dialed is powered off, please try again later." Grayson kicked the car door in frustration, alarming the nearby security guard.
There was an extremely important contract to be signed that evening, but Grayson was in no mood for it. He instructed his assistant to attend in his place.
The assistant was at her wit's end; the CEO was being unreasonable, and a billion-dollar deal was at stake. Nothing seemed to influence him as much as Lena did. It seemed she would have to curry favor with this future boss.
When Lena finally arrived home, it was already past 9 PM. As she stepped out of the elevator, her right eye twitched, and her hand trembled before she could open the door.
The room was dark, filled with smoke that made Lena cough involuntarily. She saw a flickering light on the sofa, and the TV played dull financial lectures.
After taking off her slippers and turning on the lights, Lena dared not even take a breath.
Grayson, with a cigarette in his mouth and a furrowed brow, didn't lift his head to look at Lena.
Lena knew this was when Grayson was most terrifying.
Approaching Grayson slowly, like a guilty child, Lena lowered her head, waiting for a reprimand.
"Where did you go?"
"I..."
His deep gaze lingered on her for a while, his eyes filled with suppressed anger, as if it could overflow any moment. His voice was restrained, as if he was forcibly controlling the rage within.
"Why was your phone off?"
"It ran out of battery... I'm sorry," Lena said, not daring to meet Grayson's eyes directly.
"Where did you go? You left without saying anything."
"I didn't go anywhere."
Lena didn't want Grayson to know about her father's situation.
"Why should I report to you wherever I go? I have my own freedom!" Lena lifted her head to meet Grayson's gaze directly.
"Who are you to me?"
Already in a bad mood, Grayson grew even more frustrated.
"Fine, Lena, you're bold. You're getting bolder!"
Grayson's deep eyes narrowed, and a cold light flashed in their depths.
"Did you go out on a date with another man?"
