Chapter 24 Lena, Are You Heartbroken?

After that night, Lena didn't see Grayson at the company for a long time. Life returned to its calm state before Grayson's appearance. On Saturdays and Sundays, she would go to her mother's place to pick up Helen, accompany her to the amusement park, and buy her clothes. Lena knew she owed Helen a lot and couldn't take care of her while working, so she tried to make up for it on weekends.

Since the drunken night, Lena hadn't seen Alice for a long time either. Alice texted saying she was out of town shooting an advertisement. The director continued to take care of Lena as usual. In the past, Lena didn't notice, but after the incident with Eva, Lena realized the director's intentions. Every time Lena wanted to explain things to the director, she never got the chance.

Grayson hadn't been to the company for two weeks, and Lena's heart still felt empty. She couldn't focus on her work, often making mistakes. Even Lucy couldn't bear to watch.

"Lena, are you heartbroken?" After Lena threw away the Nth draft paper, Lucy leaned in risking her life to ask Lena.

"No, brat, what do you know?" Lena tapped Lucy's head. "Quick, go back and draw the design, stop gossiping around me!"

Lena quietly worked on her design drafts, knowing only she understood where her heart was. Everything on the drafts felt unfamiliar to her.

Finally, it was time to leave work. Lena drove her Audi home.

On the way home, she received a call from Alice, who had returned from shooting the advertisement out of town and wanted to have dinner at Lena's place in the evening. Passing by the supermarket, Lena bought steak, fish, lobster, and several boxes of fruits and vegetables. She hadn't seen Alice for a long time and planned to make a grand meal for her, preparing her signature Wellington steak.

Just as Lena set the dishes on the table, Alice walked in. They were practically family, each having the other's spare keys. Alice entered without knocking, as usual.

"Wow, are you spoiling me?" Alice's eyes glittered at the table full of food, her stomach growling at the right moment.

"Yes, you've been working hard with the ads lately. I wanted to treat you. Can't have you getting too tired and thin. My goddaughter still wants you to buy her Barbie dolls!" Lena picked up a large lobster and put it in Alice's bowl.

Alice praised as she ate, "I haven't had such a delicious dinner in a long time." She complained about the boxed meals from the set. Seeing Alice enjoying herself, Lena couldn't help but smile. In that moment, all the gloom Grayson brought her seemed to dissipate.

After dinner, Alice helped Lena clean up. Lena lit a jasmine incense, her favorite scent that always made her feel relaxed. The two sat on the sofa, watching TV and gossiping.

Alice started asking, "If I'm not mistaken, the guy who carried you that night is your unforgettable first love, right?"

"Yes," Lena nodded without denying.

"Grayson not only has looks, height, figure, abilities, and family background all top-notch. He would definitely make a perfect son-in-law," Alice couldn't help but praise Grayson. As someone in the entertainment industry, Alice had never seen such a handsome and impressive big boss before.

Regal, tall and sturdy, heroic and handsome... Alice used all the words she could think of to praise Grayson.
