Chapter five

" what do you think?" Ariana asked eagerly.

" It's nice." Max told her.

" I know" she bragged.

" Ariana, I won't be back till two days. Max please keep her company" Mrs Wilson said.

 This wasn't new to Ariana. Sometimes, her mum would leave her for a month and she wouldn't have anyone but Beatrice to keep her company because her mum was a divorcee and that was why she and Beatrice became best friends.

" Bye." Mrs Wilson told them before leaving.

" So, what should we do?" Ariana asked eagerly.

" Maybe we could go watch a movie at the Cinema" Max told her.

" Sure. I'll go change" Ariana told him.

" But you look great this way" Max complimented.

" I missed you but I'm still changing" she told him.

" I'll like to shower first." 

" Hmmm. The bathroom is upstairs. Opposite my room" she told him.

" I don't know your room".

" Come with me" she told him and he followed.

" This is the bathroom. The only one in this apartment." She told him and left for her room.

Few minutes later, 

       Max came out of the bathroom and changed into a pair of jeans and an orange Polo. He put on his sneakers, some deodorant and he looked charming.

" I'm ready" Ariana told him as she came out of her room. She was wearing a white crop top with peaches on it along with a pair of black jeans and her sandals. She let her hair down to one side and put some pins to decorate it. She put on light makeup, carried her purse and was ready to leave.

" Come let's go" she told him.

" Yeah, yeah." He told her and they left.

* What are you doing here" Ariana asked Beatrice after hugging her.

" To watch a movie with someone" Beatrice said.

" Who" Ariana asked looking around.

" My new boyfriend" Beatrice said playing with her hair.

" Who? Tell me" Ariana asked eagerly.

" Raymond Styles" Beatrice said happily.

" You've got to be kidding" 

" Hi there. Got us popcorn" Raymond said and pecked Beatrice.

" You must be kidding. You.....and this jerk....." Ariana was shocked.

" Ari, be nice I don't want him to get upset and......" She was interrupted by Max.

" Hi. Got the popcorn" max said giving popcorn to Ariana.

" Who's this?" Beatrice asked.

" Beatrice, meet Max. He's my bestie, Max meet Beatrice. She's my best friend" Ariana introduced.

" Nice to meet you" they both said as they shook hands.

" Come, the movie is about to start." Ariana told them as they walked into the hall.

      After the movie, the friends went outside and took a couple of pictures and had a lot of fun.

" Hey Ari, aren't you sleeping over at my place? Your mum's not home." Beatrice asked

" Don't worry, I got company. Max will be staying at my place for sometime and guess what?"

" What"

" Max will be coming to our school next week."

" Cool" Beatrice told her. " Okay. I'll be on my way now. Good night" she said and hugged Ray before getting a taxi and leaving.

" Ari, i've gotta see some old friends alright? I'll be back late" Max told her

" Sure. Have fun" she told him before pecking him.

" Bye" Max told her " I've asked for a taxi to come pick you up alright? See you later" he told her and left.

" I better get going" Raymond said

" Not so fast" Ariana said " listen, I know you're just using my friend"

" And how would you know that?" Raymond asked.

" Because you're Ray. The most arrogant guy in school. Why would you even date her" Ariana challenged.

" And who told you we were dating?"

" She said so" Ariana said.

" Well, that's what she thinks. I can't blame her. All girls are like that. You talk to them and they think you're dating. Such foolish creatures" Raymond said

" That was rude but at least you were open. How do you feel about that?"

" It felt great being open" Ray thought.

" Okay. You claim you're not dating so why did you invite her to the movies" Ariana asked.

" I didn't. I met her here." Raymond said. " Why am I even talking to you. We're supposed to be enemies. We've won most passionate enemies in the last three hall of fames." Ray said

" You're right but here is something. Stay away from my friend. She's not your type. You're...."

" Im not? So who is" he asked moving closer to her. " So who's my type? You?" He stopped moving closer when she was caught in between his arms and a wall.

" Never. I'm not your type neither is she" Ariana said pushing him away.

" You know Ms blonde, I'm beginning to think you've got feelings for me." Raymond said running his fingers through his hair.

" Never. Not in this life not e......." She was interrupted by a kiss on her lips from Raymond.

" Are you mad?" Ariana asked furiously after landing a slap on Raymond's face.

" How dare you" 

" That should be my question. See, I'm not like the other girls who get excited when you walk towards them. Let this be the last you try something like this, else I'll tarnish your reputation. Move aside my taxi's here" she said pushing him aside angrily before getting into the taxi.

"Why'd I even do that?" Raymond asked himself after Ariana left. He'd never felt so eager to kiss a girl before. What was this girl doing to him. Thank God his best friend was resuming the following day. At least he would be able to consult him.
