Chapter 7: It's Some Kind of Miracle.

Lian become more and more nervous as the car neared her parents mansion. If she's to remember, the last time she was there, her conversation with her parents had ended in quarrels. Her prayer was that this time it all goes well and the two parties should come to peaceful terms.

The mansion was a two story building that was painted cream and was a replica of the country's presidential villa. A ten metre water fountain stood in the middle of the compound adding beauty to the place. On its right stood another residential mansion which was separated by a perimeter wall from the latter.

On it's left was a vast recreational garden which stretched wide up to the lake shore. In it was a number of small structure where people spent time while enjoying the scenery and cool breeze that emanated from the lake.

It also had a number of fruit trees and in the middle stood a big tree with widely spread branches on which a number of swings were tied.

The middle aged couple was seated in one of the structures in the garden and a happy sigh escaped both of their lips after seeing their daughters coming out of the car which had just parked almost 300 metres from where they were seated.

Lian moved to where her parents were seated still anxious and not stopping wondering what they had summoned her for.

Well being her parents, she was never free with them and always felt intimidated whenever around them.

However, though the two parties were never at good terms, the love between them had not seized existing. Her parents loved her so much that they thought letting her into the world free would finally cause them loosing her.

On the other Lian's love for her parents grew stronger and stronger each day. Living away from them made her miss them like nothing. The problem was that she couldn't come to terms of what they had done to her and possibly it was hard forgiving them.

"I hope this solves the grudge between us ... I badly miss my little girl." Martha Lian's mother said softly with tearly eyes.

At this moment the two girls had reached their parents and seeing their mother almost crying, Belinda rushed in hugging her asking her what the problem is. Lian stood still with an aching heart seeing her mother's tears.

"Dad.... Ma ..." She greeted after wiping the tears that had started escaping her eyes.

After exchanging greetings, Edward handed his daughter some papers which seems to be a contract. On seeing the papers, Lian's heart ached the more wondering why it had come to this point that she had to sign contracts with her parents.

"I can't do this... It's ok .. I'll quit music and all that.... I'll take up the CEO position in the company..... But with this ... I won't sign a contract with you guys..." Lian muttered slowly trying to catch her breath with tears rushing out her eyes like a river that has just broken free from a barrier.

Still not able to hold back her tears, Lian moved slowly back wards her gazes fixed on her parents with evidence of timidness to face them until her back rested on a pillar holding one of the corners of the structure. There she stood crying uncontrollably.

The woman whose head was now buried in her husband's chest couldn't hold herself back from crying. "I told you this would not work..." She said..

"I had no other option.... And after all it was that boy's idea." The man replied while patting the woman's head.

The place remained silent with only sobs being heard as Belinda had joined the rest in sobbing as she couldn't bare it but cry.

After crying for a long time that she could nolonger cry anymore, Lian moved from where she had long stood placing the contract on the table just Infront her parents and turned to leave the place.

"Wait..." A voice suddenly stopped her. She paused in her movement and turned only to see the man standing beside her.

Edward extended his hands trying to get hold of her daughter but the girl repelled his gesture while moving back a little.

"I know and I understand your pain.. and I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you.... Regarding the contract, I'm still deeply sorry for that. Though it was meant for the better and I'm sorry I didn't know it would make you feel this way, However, there were better option. Actually, being a businessan, I thought drafting a contract would be the best option... Anyway why am I saying all this irrelevance." The man softly muttered while moving to where his wife was seated and sat just next to her.

"Have a seat dear .. if you don't mind..." He added while gesturing his daughter to have a seat on the opposite couch.

The girl moved slowly and took up her seat as instructed. Her eyes darted to her sister who was still sobbing silently.

"I'm sorry... That you have to witness all this.." she thought to herself while pitifully looking at her sister.

"We have come to terms that your music is good. Actually for along time we had no trouble with you taking on music but our deepest fear was that you wouldn't want to take on the family business after you getting into music full-time. But.. all I want to say is that you are now free to take on music. "

Hearing those words from her dad, Lian couldn't believe it. She thought that it was all a dream but seeing that she wasn't waking up, she realised it wasn't a dream.

Lian couldn't help smiling eventually giggling. She moved to where her parents were seated and engaged them in a big hug.

"Thank you dad... Thank you mum.." she muttered with tears down her cheeks but this time round they were tears of joy.

"We have one simple favour to ask... A time will come when you and your sister will have to take on the family business we hope you'll be available for that." Edward uttered while patting his daughter's head who was still hugging the both of them.

"Anything you ask... For as long as you let me do music." She slowly said with a smile on her face. Belinda too joined in the hug as the family had now finally reconciled after a long time of grudges.
