The next morning Noel, I mean, me, woke up to the strikes of light that came from the morning sun, burning my skin upon my eyes. I turned my head, facing the floor beneath me. I stayed in bed for another hour, waking up every few minutes.
Eventually, I got up, taking staggering steps forward, only god knows where my legs were leading me, moving around carelessly I stopped before the mirror on the other side of the room and my heart skipped a beat. I must be the only person on earth who's in love with his own self.
My hand went up to cover my face, I rubbed my fingers along my cheeks and up to my eyes, going to my forehead and brushing back my hair, flipping backward and coming back again to the front of my head.
I opened my eyes and stared back at my reflection. Strong, blue eyes with a grey shade underneath each side looking down to my mouth painted with light blueberry colors upon my upper lip, moving down to my sharp joy line, tanned skin, and up again to my thick dark eyebrows.
Dark brown hair, long and messy from sleep, put a shadow on my face but the dazzling light that came through the window lightened my bright eyes, they sparkled in the mirror and I gasped at my reflection.
"Waay, I'm too good-looking", I said without thinking with a light and raspy voice "How is this possible? I look so good, my gosh" I smiled to myself, amused by myself and started to fix my clothes infront of the mirror.
"I'm so jealous of other people who can see me all the time, wow, it's so sad that I can see myself only through a mirror" my voice was raspy and low from sleep so I caught a little to clean my throat. My singlet was bending to the right too much and I did not like it, the fabric around my stomach was practically turning over to my back, so I pushed it back.
I admit, I may have done a little spin as I turned around to fix it, admits guilt, but it was fun though. My jeans looked fine so I just lifted them up a little and I already had my shoes on me, since I never took them off in the first place, so I took one last glance in the mirror before I headed towards the door.
I looked around the corridors and walked in silence, observing the empty corridor and the closed doors. This house was where I decided to hide from my brother, hoping he wouldn't bother to go this long to the other side of town. And of course, lucky me, happened to hide in the house where his girlfriend lived. What are the odds?
I swear to god, I hate my life.
I climbed down the stairs and exited from the building. My bike were just around the corner, sitting by the entrance of the house next to me, I asked the neighbor next door to keep an eye on it for me, I should probably let hi know that I was taking them.
I walked towards the door and knocked twice, I read the name on the door while waiting, in simple black letters the name Layton was written on a wool board. It opened after a while, I was not expecting the person who stood before me though. Surprised, I observed her and scanned, I mean, I guess I was, checking her out.
"Can I help you?" she asked me, her voice was pretty and it made me lean closer toward her, for her credit, she didn't step back and held my gaze. Is she going along with my rizz? I smirked, interesting.
A smile went up while I eyed her in curiosity "Yeah, thanks in advance" I shoved my shoulder on the door frame. She looked at me unpatiently and wrapped her arms together, I better stop beating around the bush.
"I talked yesterday with some old man who lives here, he kept an eye over my bikes. Just wanted to let him know I'm taking them now" I licked my lips and didn't miss her eyes staring down at it. She wore a white top and shorts, and her long dark hair was falling down in waves and created shades around her face.
"Noel, by the way", I reached out a hand for her and she looked down upon it and then glared up at me, her brown eyes were big and deep, looking at me brazenly with slight amusement. I could tell right away, that girl was my type, sure thing.
"I see" She took my hand and gave it a little shake, her hand was warm and thick "I'm Florance, come on in" She let go of my head and turned her back at me as she walked inside the house. I no longer had sight of her eyes and I sensed the void it left.
