Dream

"I wonder what it would be like to go to the moon? What would it be like if I met an alien? What do they look like? Why haven't we caught one yet? These questions filled my mind day in and day out to the point that I couldn't sleep. I would lie awake turning and tossing in my sleep until one day I got my wish. I got a letter in the mail saying that out of a select few of my school I was chosen to represent. A mission to space and beyond. I was excited. I packed my things, waived goodbye to everyone and was about to head out the door when I stopped and remembered something. My mom was still sleeping and I hadn't said goodbye to her. I slowly closed the door not to wake her up and crept to her room. When I opened the door there she lay in her nice red dress. She had slept walked again. I went to her bed and whispered goodmorning in her ear. She woke up with a startle which would have awoken the dead. I reached in to give her a big hug but when I wrapped my arms around her all I felt was air. She slowly faded into mist and I stood there, alone with my thoughts. Was this real? Was this a dream?

"Billy!!!" I turned to find the source. "Billy!" There it was again. It was coming from the wormhole that I was approaching. "If you don't get off of that couch and your head out of the clouds then I'm coming up there. One.....Two...…." I flew through the air as fast as I could to reach the wormhole before she could get to three. I rushed into the wormhole and fell through. Rocks threatened to bring me down but I pushed on. She was in sight and still in her red dress. I slowly walked up to her and stopped. She looked down at me and I up to her. Our eyes met and I knew I was home. I stretched out my hands and wrapped my arms around her. Relief rushed through me when she didn't turn to mist. She was real. I squeezed tighter knowing that I was safe.

"Billy. That trick is not going to work on me again. This is the second week in a row you got detention for dozing off in class. What are you even thinking about all day? It can't be school cause I just came from there and I'm not happy with what I saw. You got two D's. Why?"

I didn't hear anything she was saying or care what it was. As far as I knew iIt was words and that was good for me. Now I don't know if aliens are real or what they look like but one thing I do know is what my mom looks like and that she is real.
