February 21

Lux's POV

We arrived at the town of Xiyah where we can find the registration for Mercenary, It takes us about three days to get here in this town Xiyah, and luckily we arrived on time.

Like I told you I'm not that really into joining mercenaries but whatever I said to Jessica, she keeps on insisting that we will join if we want it or not.

This town looks incredible than the other town because most of the buildings here are concretes and the design looks awesome. They have a shelter district, a housing district, and also a shopping district.

This place looks lively because there's a lot of citizens and adventurers visiting this town unlike the other in that there are only a few citizens, but a lot of adventurers.

Stop being amazed, Lux! Time to focus on what we're doing. We find where's the town square since all of the events take place there because it has a big space and this mercenary thing is yearly so I expect this to be grand or something that mat does not destroy my expectations.

We walked towards and see a lot of contestants having a line in the corner. Are we doing some kind of duel or something? Seems scary if you ask me.

I look at the venue and it looks kinda grand but not well... this is mercenary so it has to look simple, am I right?

"By the way, we're Number 10!" Jessica said to us.

"When did you register for a ticket?" I asked her.

"Twenty minutes ago?" She said with a chuckle.

"That's quick," Blue said in shock.

"Hey, guys! Are our opponents?" The girl said in our back.

"Yep!" Jessica cheerfully answered.

"Seems incredible if you asked me." The boy said in her back.

"We will not hold back so you better be prepared to face our wraths!" said the other guy.

Someone hit his head. "Sorry for his attitude." She said and then bow at us.

"Apology accepted," I said to them.

We waited for several minutes until the MC finally called our numbers o start a duel. I was feeling a little bit ill because it's nerve-wracking, and we as a team didn't participate in any team fight or sort so, we don't know if it will look messy or not.

The girl walk towards me and gave me a hand. "Let's have a good fight." She smiled and walk past us.

"Let's get the party started!" Blue said in excitement.

We positioned in our spot and get ready for an attack. "There is no holding back guys," I told them. "I'll take on their leader while you Blue attack the archer in your fast movement he can't hit you immediately, Gina you take on the lance guy since he's using a spear he can't move that quickly, Jessica takes on the swords lady she can't get close to you since your weapon of choice is a lance and lastly Jeremiah, you take care of assassin she can't last long in close combat."

After a few planning, the bell started to ring so I immediately rush the Girl that I thought is their leader. Our sword immediately collided hard that everyone in this place heard a loud metal being hammered.

"Not bad." She said and then signaled someone.

I looked at her back and saw an arrow coming towards me. I can't dodge it in time, I'll just take it, and then suddenly I saw a hand and catches the arrow.

"Hoo... That's a close man." Blue said as he continues to pursue the archer.

"You got a nice team their ey?" She said she back off me.

I pointed my blade at her. "I didn't expect that but let's see then."

We clash like predators who were fighting over our prays as we keep on blocking every attack with no holding back, our body likes this kind of thrill. I glanced at my surroundings and saw the archer having a hard time shooting an arrow because of what's Blue doing. I saw Jessica fighting as her opponent struggled to face her head while the lance guy had a hard time rushing at her and Jeremiah blocking the path of the assassin to target our archer.

Our plan is going smooth until one of us messed up and that's blue because he was tricked by the archer, the archer immediately shot an arrow towards Gina so she immediately dodges and the lance guy charges Jeremiah, and until we realized we're surrounded by them.

"What's the plan Lux?" Gina asked.

"Just wing it," I said as we fight our way to get out of that moment.

We force our way out so we can finally take them on more fairly and that's what we did we fought our same classes. Gina fights the archer guy, Blue fights the girl assassin, Jeremiah fight the swords lady, Jessica fights the lance guy while I fight their girl leader.

We fight for a long long time until the MC spoke so all of stop the fight and stare at the MC. "That was an intense fight but we run out of time and our judges can't decide which team has a good tactic so we decided that it's a draw! which means all of you are accepted to be officially a mercenary!" The crowd cheers and mentioned their fave team. "This is the first time this happens so both teams you have to be grateful you have a draw." The MC walked towards us so we stand at the center. "Take this as a token that you are a true mercenary." He gave us all a badge that has a sword and shield logo. "Thanks to all of you and we will launch this another year!"

All of us were tired and grateful that both teams were certified Mercenaries, they offer to join them to celebrate our win. We ordered some food and waited for it to arrive.

"Before we start this party we should introduce ourselves." The girl said. "I'm Rachel the sort of a leader if you say, and this is the person beside me is Shan who's expert in flame magic and also a shy type person." She said as she points at Shan. "These two twins are Zach and Zeke that look similar in every angle." And lastly, this young lady right here is Rose, our assassin maiden in our team."

"I'm Lux and to tell you honestly not a leader more like a tactician, These two right is Gina and Jeremiah is a sibling that has frozen hearts," I said.

Gina smack me in the head. "I just keep my words simple so shut up." She said.

I scratch my head for a bit. "And these two right here is Jessica the happy go lucky and the young man right here is Blue."

"You have a lively team huh?" She said in sarcasm.

"As I told you they are more inspired than I am," I said we both laugh.

"Same, no kidding at that." She said as she chuckles

All of us spoke about each other and how we started our journeys and how our teams formed until the food arrived and we ate together with laughs of some sort. When the skies start to darken we both set out and go to our Inns they stayed at the west alley inn and we are in the north side alley so we were far from each other.

When we arrived and book the rooms we need, we immediately lay down on the bed in tiredness. boys and girls have a separate room because girls need more privacy since we have different sex than the other right?

"That's so tiring," I said as I stretched my arm.

"I know," Jeremiah said as he covers himself in a blanket.

"That's more fun than I thought," Blue said as his eyes formed like a heart.

"Cheerful as always," I said as I backed out because of tiredness.

February 22

While we are peacefully sleeping in our beds when we heard a loud explosion near us and it's only midnight, some, Jeremiah, and Blue immediately got up and stare at the window.

We saw flames and destroyed buildings as the invaders try to swarm the area, the numbers of those invaders can't be counted in our fingers since there's just a lot of enemies. We immediately suit up and head out to protect the people outside.

When we got we were immediately greeted by swords and arrows that are coming towards us so Blue rush towards the archers and take them while I and Jeremiah take of those people here on the ground.

If we have the girls join us it would be a great help since the two of them are long-range except for Jessica, she's mid-range only because she's using the lance all the time.

As we were forcing our way to find the mastermind of all this chaos, we saw a bright light to our left making its way towards. The three of us can't dodge so we three both ready for the impact and then--
