The 4 Great Maou's peerages.

Hello again, welcome to another rant of DxD lore, this time we will be talking about the 4 maous peerage, despite 4 of them having little to no details. Let's gets started shall we:

I-1-King: Serafall Leviathen:

"Aah, it's you, Serafall. So you came here as well."

...Serafall...? I-I seem to have heard this name before...

"It's Leviathan-sama."

...For a moment, I couldn't understand Buchou's words. Buchou said once more to me who didn't get it.

"That person is one of the current four Maous, Serafall Leviathan-sama. And also, she's Sona's onee-sama."--Volume 4, Life 2, Part 3

Introduced in the Volume 4, Serafall Leviathen is the Maou in charge of diplomatic affairs.

"By the way Serafall is in charge of foreign affairs."

"V! Leave the negotiations with other nations to me." Serafall-sama winks while doing a peace sign. She's cute, but is it okay to leave foreign affairs to her? I think she was trying to attack the heavens because she was shocked that she didn't get called for observation day at school--Volume 8, Extra Life.

Originally the heir to the house of Sitri, she was born with unmatched powers among her clan and a Mutated version of their Water manipulation, instead gaining Ice manipulation.

In the distance, Falbium Glasya-Labolas was on his feet, yawning repeatedly. He was 18; just a year older than Sirzechs.

Sirzechs, Ajuka, Serafall and Falbium were not only almost the same age, but they had also known each other since a very young age, becoming very close friends. --Volume 0, Chapter 1.

Born around 500 to 600 years ago, she is and the other 4 new Maous were very close friends from childhood.

Originally, a hot headed individual who is quick to anger and quicker to resort to violence, she changed over time and became obsessed with magical girls.

Ironically, she never understood why Sirzechs loved his younger sister so much, until she got one of her own, and became obsessed with her too.

As far as power level, we have some statements and feats we can go through, but I would rank her as a High Maou-class. Here we go:

"No way, Sona-chan! If I am told that by Sona-chan, your Onee-chan will be sad! Sona-chan doesn't know that her onee-chan is admired as the Magical girl! Since with the glittering stick, I erase Angels and Fallen Angels ☆."

"Onee-sama, please be prudent. If my onee-sama, the Maou, glitters, then this small country would be destroyed many times over."

She isn't a Mahou Shoujo, but more like a Maou Shoujo! Maou Shoujo Serafall Leviathan-sama is scary!--Volume 4, Life 2, Part 3.

Because of the Unreliable narrator problem, we can't take this statement for fact. But since nothing contradicts it yet, we can take it as a measurement for her power. And seeing how small Japan is, I can believe that she can erase it from the map multiple times.

[It is the Gigantic monsters VS Levia-tan!]

When the channel changed, Serafall Leviathan-sama appears on the television. I heard that she couldn't sit back while the Underworld was in a crisis, so she left the Maou territory to start a fight with one of the Bandersnatch on her own. Very thick ice appears on the screen. It's the favourite technique of Serafall Leviathan-sama. –The wasteland turned into a World of Ice. Bandersnatch of course isn't safe from such an attack, and more than half of it's body is now frozen. ...The demonic-power difference is way too large. A demonic-attack that can affect the land itself….. This is the power of Maou Leviathan...--Volume 12, Life -1, Part 1.

As we can see, this is Serafall's finisher: Celsius Cross Trigger.

I-2-Queen: Behemoth:

Now some explanation of the setting behind the scene. Among Sirzechs's group there is the "Kougyou of the Deep Sea", Bahamut; among Serafall's group there is "Magical Beast King of the Earth," Behemoth; among Ajuka's group there is "King Snake of the Realm of the Dead", Falak; and among Falbium's group there is the "Blue Holy Bull", Kuyutha. They are all legendary creatures.

For them to appear just for the setting...…probably won't happen. I just revealed it to the fans who likes the setting of it.--Volume 8, Afterword.

As we can see, we don't have much details about Serafall's peerage other than the fact she has Behemoth, the magical beast king of the earth.

As for how we know he is the Queen piece? Here:

<<I never had someone like that on my side to begin with. Anyway, I've also left most of the things that will come afterwards in the care of my [Queen] here.>> [I see. I've also done as you have, Serafall, Falbium, and I have left my [Queen] here for the future. So Grayfia will remain here.] <<I see, you're leaving Grayfia-chan behind. I think that's for the better.>> <<It's because each of the Maou's [Queens] are treasures of the Underworld.>>

Sirzechs-sama and the other two Maou-sama engaged in conversation.--Volume 21, Last DxD.

II-1-King: Ajuka Beelzebub:

"Aaah, I still haven't introduced you to them Ise-kun. The man with the mysterious atmosphere is Ajuka Beelzebub. He is the chief advisor for the technology department including the Technical Equation Program."

Ajuka Beelzebub-sama then shifts his sight at me.

[It's good having a mysterious atmosphere because it seems devilish. Oh, sorry. Nice to meet you, Sekiryuutei-dono. I have heard rumours about you.]--Volume 8, Extra Life.

Introduced in Volume 8, Ajuka Beelzebub is the chief advisor for the technology department including the Technical Equation Program and the Maou in charge of the Evil Pieces System and the rating games, making him the most important person in the Underworld currently. Since it now heavily depends on Peeragesamd rating games.

Originally the heir of the Astaroth House, he was born with transcendental powers, making him nigh-unrivaled among the devil race when he grew up, except for his friend and rival Sirzechs.

"The members of the Maous family seem to be obsessed with the young members of the noble families of this generation"

The boy was Ajuka Astaroth, born within the Astaroth Family. He was the same Age as Sirzechs.--Volume 0, Chapter 1.

A calm and rational person, Ajuka liked equations since he was a little child and so wanted to see how the world ticks, how the laws are in place, how the elements are balanced, how the pillars of creation are established and many other facets of creation.

"The reason why I can concentrate on my hobbies is because Sirzechs considers all of my will as well. He… No, I have had a long relationship with him. He's the only one who I can call my friend. That's why I know him better than anyone, and he knows me better than anyone. I only became a Maou because he became a Maou. That's how Sirzechs's and my relationship goes."

Ajuka Beelzebub-sama and Sirzechs-sama have known each other for a long time. In other words, they were rivals when they were young. I think there are things only the two of them understand. That thing is absolute to Ajuka Beelzebub-sama, and he easily rejected the offer of the terrorists. --Volume 12, Life -12, Part 1.

Almost unrivalled since birth, he only have one true friend that can keep up with his transcendental levels of powers, and so, he cherishs that individual.

Truly, as a great man once said: It takes a man to be best girl.

He likes to play mysterious, as he find it adds a more "Develish" touch to him.

"What attracts us the most about you is that you are the only Devil who could compete against "that" Sirzechs Lucifer. I hear that you and Sirzechs Lucifer are irregular Devils who are envied greatly and feared by the descendants of the previous Maou. If one of you joins us, then we can't ask for anymore manpower than that."--Volume 12, Life -2, Part 1.

Unlike his friend Sirzechs, whose power is geared towards destruction, Ajuka's power is geared to creation. He is one of only 5 confirmed Transcendent-class Devils to ever appear. Making him sit in the Top 10 strongest beings in the world if he is serious.

He mainly fights using his masterpiece, the Kankura Formula. Here, we can have a look at it:

Ajuka Beelzebub-sama is said to have an absolute technique where he can control all phenomena with just equations and formulas. Ajuka Beelzebub-sama changed the directions of the opponents' attack with his own demonic powers. The faces on the Devils from the Old Maou Faction are that of those who are in fear. Ajuka Beelzebub-sama continues on.

"From my point of view, all the phenomenon and abilities that occur in this World have rules and laws in them. I am able to get an answer by filling in the equations. I have liked calculations since I was a child. That's why my demonic power became specialised in those areas. Look, I can do things like this."--Volume 12, Life -2, Part 1.

Using the Kankura Formula, Ajuka can basically have a limited reality bending. However, his most favourite tactic is just controlling other people's attacks and using it against them. Not only that, he can go beyond just hijacking their attacks:

They realised that they can't run away from it, so they once again release an offensive aura from their hands. From the quality of it, it has the same power as the one they shot earlier… No, it is even more powerful. But the attacks controlled by Ajuka Beelzebub-sama easily break through their attacks and pierce through their bodies. Demonic powers that were split into many bullets created huge holes in their bodies.

…He even increased the power of the attacks he gained control of! He changes the direction of the attacks coming after him, and he uses the formula to take control of them. On top of that, he can change the shape, the velocity and the power of it.

"…So, this is the power of this man's [Kankara formula]..."

"To have this much power with moving only slightly… How much power do you and Sirzechs possess…?"--Volume 12, Life -2, Part 1.

He can make the attacks he controls faster, stronger, change their directions, shape, etc...

Simply speaking, he is the worst type of enemy to face if you aren't just a simple brawler.

II-2-Queen: Falak:

Now some explanation of the setting behind the scene. Among Sirzechs's group there is the "Kougyou of the Deep Sea", Bahamut; among Serafall's group there is "Magical Beast King of the Earth," Behemoth; among Ajuka's group there is "King Snake of the Realm of the Dead", Falak; and among Falbium's group there is the "Blue Holy Bull", Kuyutha. They are all legendary creatures.

For them to appear just for the setting...…probably won't happen. I just revealed it to the fans who likes the setting of it.--Volume 8, Afterword.

A private communication magic circle appeared near Ajuka. It was a call from his [Queen] Falak.

Falak was a giant snake ruler whose stomach was rumoured to be connected with Hell.

Usually, she took the appearance of a human woman.--Volume Shin DxD, Unknown Threat.

Not much is known about Falak either, like her fellow Maou's Queen pieces. We do have this vague description however.

From what we can understand, her stomach is basically connected with hell. So that means she can either summon things from hell through her stomach, or whatever she Devours will get sent to hell.

She is said to be even calmer than Ajuka himself, which is a suprise in and on itself.

Falak said.

"Please, look at the recording... She said something that's quite honestly hard to believe…"

To think that Falak, who was usually more calm than Ajuka, would say so…--Volume Shin 4, Unknown Threat.

Other than that, we know that her inspiration is Falak, the Serpent residing in the deepest layer of hell in Arabic mythology.

III-1-King: Fablium Asmodeus:

"And the one over there who seems like he can't be bothered to do things is Falbium Asmodeus. He is mainly in control of military affairs."

[...Hello. I'm Falibium.]

What an uninspired voice... Is he really a Maou? Military affairs….. Is it okay for Maou-sama without any spirit to be in charge? I was making unneeded worries….--Volume 8, Extra Life.

Introduced in Volume 8, Fablium Asmodeus is the Maou in charge of the military.

[...Serafall and Sirzechs work too hard. I live by the thought that "working means losing". Apart from important jobs, I just leave it to my servants you know? For times like these you need to gather good servants and make them do the work... Aaah I'm tired....]--Volume 8, Extra Life.

He is a lazy individual who finds that working is losing, so he prefers to just either work efficiently or just not at all.

We don't exactly what happened to him, but whatever the case is, Fablium as of now is an individual with almost no loved ones so to speak off, we don't know why is this the case, if his family died, if he just doesn't care about them anymore, or something else:

[I understand, Serafall, Falbium. —Have you finished saying your farewells to those you love?]

Upon hearing Sirzechs-sama's question, Leviathan-sama showed a saddened expression.

<<…I've been troubled about it until the end. That child will certainly cry, and I don't want to see that child's crying face. Otherwise, I would definitely hesitate…>>

On the other hand, Falbium Asmodeus replied rather cynically

<<I never had someone like that on my side to begin with. Anyway, I've also left most of the things that will come afterwards in the care of my [Queen] here.>>--Volume 21, Last DxD

But despite this, he indisputably is the best strategist in all of the Underworld, that's why he is on the military to begin with.

Originally the heir to the house of Glasya-Labolas, he was born with unmatched power among his clan and a Mutated power unique to him:

"Take Zekram Bael's head, and the direction of this war will change! Fire!" "Ooooooogh!"

The elite force was large, and fired endless magical explosions.

In the midst of all this, a devil with a titanium body slowly emerged from the Resistance's line of defense. The elite troops relentlessly fired their magic at the devil. Countless explosions and attacks focused only on his figure and distorted his surroundings.

The ground folded and collapsed violently, and dust covered the space between the Resistance Army and the Royal Army, blinding everything in sight. Then the dust settled, and there he was, Falbium Glasya-Labolas, standing just there, unharmed.

Witnessing Falbium's unharmed state, the leaders of the houses of Agaliarept and Fleuretty were stunned.

"... Gh .. it can't be."

The elite forces of both Houses were also stunned by Falbium's unharmed state after receiving numerous explosions of magic. Falbium spoke while scratching his head:

"I'm sorry, but it won't work." --Volume 0, Chapter 4.

As we can see, Fablium can be considered to be the ultimate tank. He has a power called Absolute Defence, which as the name suggests, can block all attacks. Here is the description from the novel itself:

However, the orange aura that enveloped Falbium did not move at all by the attacks. None of the magic shots that the elite force launched had any effect on him. Even under the fire he received incessantly he murmured to himself without enthusiasm, as always:

"Ummm, I'm sure you heard about me before. Well, I believe that I am not as well known as Sirzechs. "

Falbium Glasya-Labolas was born with the "Absolute Defense" ability. It could, as the name suggests, block all attacks. Falbium's body was constantly enveloped in an orange aura. However, it intensified and was now extraordinary. Neither an upper-class devils, nor anyone with a higher ranking, could destroy Falbium's aura.

Even the light of the angels, which devils are usually weak against, could not move Falbium's aura at all.

Sirzechs' [Power of Destruction] was the only thing that could disable it, but the aura barrier could always regenerate.

Just as Sirzechs' body has always been enveloped in "Power of Destruction", Falbium's has always been enveloped in its "Absolute Defense" aura.

Falbium always said he would lose if he ever had to fight Sirzechs, and he recognized that he was better than him.

It was said that, as of now, the only devils in the Underworld who are currently capable of doing damage to Falbium were Sirzechs, Ajuka, Serafall and Grayfia (and, of course, Rizevim Livan Lucifer).--Volume 0, Chapter 4.

But this isn't the only ability he have. He developed another technique to pair it up with his "Absolute Defense":

However, "Absolute Defense" was not his only skill. There was a fine aura that the lazy Falbium had created for himself. Once the dust generated by the attacks of demonic power had dissipated, Falbium changed his orange aura and put himself in an offensive position. It was then that Falbium realized.

"Oh, it's true! No one has yet seen my offensive strategy. I only showed it to my close friends, as it sucks. Do people think I'm just a tough piece of meat that likes to think about strategies? Is that why you thought you had a chance to beat me? Hmmm... "

Falbium was thoughtful in his own self-deliberation session.

"In any case, I suppose I will simply demonstrate that they are wrong." He said, while releasing an immeasurable amount of aura out of his body.

Falbium held out his hands, and from there, he shot a gigantic aura towards the Royal Army. His attack almost destroyed all the surroundings in front of him.

The only attack that Falbium had created was one that would absorb all the offenses that were directed at him, and allowed him to attack with his demonic power. The more powerful the attacks you endured, the stronger your counter attacks were.

Soon, Falbium launched all the attacks absorbed in a single explosion of demonic power. Each strike fired at Falbium were returned in a single combined explosion. No one could have survived after receiving a blow from such an immense and devastating demonic power.

In front of the Resistance, only a vast, open and burnt land remained. The entire Royal Army had been destroyed, leaving only the leaders of Houses Agalariept and Fleuretty, and a few soldiers who were fortunate not to die from such a devastating attack.

Those who managed to survive, also suffered very serious injuries and, if they did not treat in time, surely death awaited them.

Falbium predicted this result. He thought it would be better to take some living hostages than to eliminate them completely.--Volume 0, Chapter 4.

As we can see, Fablium basically created Meliodas' revenge counter. He can basically replicate the damage thrown upon, concentrate it and throw it back in one giant attack.

III-2-Queen: Kuyutha:

Now some explanation of the setting behind the scene. Among Sirzechs's group there is the "Kougyou of the Deep Sea", Bahamut; among Serafall's group there is "Magical Beast King of the Earth," Behemoth; among Ajuka's group there is "King Snake of the Realm of the Dead", Falak; and among Falbium's group there is the "Blue Holy Bull", Kuyutha. They are all legendary creatures.

For them to appear just for the setting...…probably won't happen. I just revealed it to the fans who likes the setting of it.--Volume 8, Afterword.

Like Behemoth, we know next to nothing about this Kuyutha too, other than the fact it's called the "Blue Holy Bull".

Kuyūthā is the cosmic bull in medieval Arabic cosmography. It is said to carry on its back the angel who shoulders the earth and the rock platform upon which the angel stands. The bull is said to stand on the giant fish or whale, Bahamut.

Yeah, this the theme that Ishibumi wanted for these 4. Well, this somewhat confirms that Islam is in DxD? Who knows, we also have Jewish cosmology monsters like Ziz in DxD, maybe I'll mention them later.

III-3-Unidentified peerage menbers:

"....Asmodeus-sama used up most of his lifetime's will to do things when he gathered his servants, and gathered talented people. And after, I heard that he orders his servants and passes the majority of his work to others. In other words he's the type who does all the homework in the first day and use the rest of the days for taking a break. He is said to be the person with the Underworld's best tactics and the best strategist…."

Buchou told me quietly. Also thank you for giving me an easy example. I see. He did his best first but left the work to his skilled servants after that. You can do that…..? The image of a Maou inside me is crumbling… --Volume 8, Extra Life.

Now, unlike his other 2 colleges Ajuka and Serafall, we did have confirmation that he has other peerage menbers. We also get to know what type he was looking for. And from what we got, he was looking for competent military leaders and advisors that he can delegate his work for and laze around. So that's that.

IV-1-King: Sirzechs Lucifer:

"It's an event that I organised."

That moment, a man with crimson-hair who was sitting at the far back walks towards us. It's the person who was drawn in the portrait at the corridor. He seems to resemble Buchou...

"Onii-sama."

Buchou called this man that. Wait, Onii-samaaaaaaaa!?

T-Then this person is the... M,M,M,M,Maou Sirzechs Lucifer-sama!?--Volume 2, Life ∞ vs Power ∞

Introduced in Volume 2, Sirzechs Lucifer is the Maou in charge of domestic affairs, he basically givers over just about everything that matters to internal devil affairs.

Originally a heir to the house of Gremory, Sirzechs was born with transcendental like powers, specifically he was enveloped within an aura of Destruction that he inherited from his mother, Venelana Bael:

It has been a long time since the God of the Bible and the Yondai Maou were eliminated. At the Gremory residence in the Underworld, a prince was born without crying during childbirth.

Many observers in the room witnessed the newborn baby floating in the air whileemanating a very powerful aura. The demonic power that enveloped the said newborn was that of "Destruction".

This demonic power was so strong that it began to distort the shape of the furniture, accessories and other objects that were inside the room. Even the doctor who performed the delivery did not dare to put a finger on this baby, since the aura that emanated from him was very strong.--Volume 0, Chapter 1.

Born around 500-600 years ago, Sirzechs was and still is a very kind individual, he liked to play on his Piano for the children of his territory and disliked the suffering that the Maou Descandents were inflicting upon the Underworld.

Despite this, Sirzechs did not want to be involved in the Civil war when it began. It was only after the Maou Descandent camp killed an audience of children he was going to play for that he decide that there time has come to an end.

In his normal form, Sirzechs is a little bit stronger than Serafall or Fablium, seeing that Azazel believed that Indra is equal to the 4 current Maous.

Azazel also believed that it would require himself, Sirzechs, Tobio and Dulio to be able to defeat Hades, one of the top 10.

Hades laughs.

<<For you all to come here…. Fafafafa. I certainly didn't expect this.>>

Though it seems you are pretty confident. His strength is the real deal though. He knows that he can beat us even if he were to fight against me and Sirzechs.--Volume 12, Satan.

Now do not be confused, this here is ranking the normal Sirzechs, his base form, because Azazel simply doesn't know Sirzechs true form, neither did he ever see Ajuka when serious.

Now, in his True Form, Sirzechs becomes a being made of Destruction, and becomes like 4 to 5 times stronger than his normal form:

What appeared in the middle was power of destruction in the shape of a human. The new form of power of destruction looks at Hades.

[In this form, the power of destruction spreads without my command. Without any barrier of field, it will make everything go back to nothingness. –It was fortunate that this shrine was made very strong. It seems like this place will last longer.]

The new form of the power of destruction is none other than Sirzechs himself.

So this is the true form of Sirzechs...

Are you telling me that insane quantity of power of destruction compressed itself into the form of a human...? But the quantity of aura I can feel with my skin...! From the amount of aura I can feel right now.... Isn't it ten times more than that of the former Lucifer!?--Volume 12, Satan.

We also have an estimate, he is apparently 10 times stronger than the Original Lucifer in his true form. By this math, we can get that:

New Maou= 2-3× Old Maou.

True Form Sirzechs and Serious Ajuka= 4×New Maou= 8-12×Old Maou= 10×Old Maou.

But anyways, what is interesting however is the fact that:

[That's what I would like to know. Though it's certain that it is a sudden mutation. –Either way, the current me can eliminate you.]

<<Fafafa. Doesn't sound like a joke at all. If we fight, then the realm of the dead will definitely perish.>>

Yeah. If it is the current Sirzechs, then that won't be a joke. This miscalculation makes me very happy. At worst I thought we had to handle Hades by force, but the current Sirzechs's power can accomplish that with ease.--Volume 12, Satan.

Yeah, True Form Sirzechs can defeat Hades "easily", keep in mind that Hades is one of the top 10. Now I don't think he will defeat him "easily", but he will defeat him anyways.

Another thing to note is that True Form Sirzechs is stronger than True DxD Issei, the same True DxD Issei that defeated the Heavenly-class Dragon Apophis. This basically means that Sirzechs is stronger than Draig. Here is what I I talking about:

The core attempted to clash with Sirzechs-sama in a frontal assault and engage in melee combat. Despite the fact that the core's hands and feet were erased as soon as they touched Sirzechs-sama, it still continued to attack. Sirzechs-sama himself was good at melee combat, so he was able to respond in turn. Damn it! I originally wanted to seize any chance that there was to give that core a taste of one of my large blasts.--Volume 21, Last DxD.

As you can see, True DxD Issei was very much struggling to keep up with the fight between True Form Sirzechs and the Trihexia Core.

If I was to hazard a guess, I would say that Draig is around 2/3rd of True Form Sirzechs' power.

IV-2-Queen: Grayfia Lucifage:

[Hello everyone. I am Grayfia, a maid from the House of Gremory and today I will be the arbiter of the Rating match between the House of Gremory and the House of Phoenix.]--Volume 2, Life 4, Part 3.

Hailing from the House of Lucifage, one of the extra Demons and the Lucifer Six, and around the same age as Sirzechs, Grafyia was placed to watch over Sirzechs by the old Maous descendants when they saw his vast power in an old gathering, before the Civil War.

They soon had the chance to know each other more and more, and eventually fell in love. But they had to separate when the Civil war began. They eventually came together after the Maou Descandents lost the civil war.

For her power, for the longest time, she was considered a rival and an equal to Serafall Leviathen, she was even a contender for the title. Their fights lasting days upon days:

Grayfia Lucifage positioned herself at the front line to deal with Serafall Sitri, who, with her demonic ice power, was repressing the first-rate troops of the royal army alone. For days, the two most powerful devil women on both sides faced each other in a furious battle of demonic power, aura and magic.

"I will freeze you to death, Grayfia!" Serafall, with her immense magical ability, instantly froze her surroundings. Grayfia Lucifage also used her aura to destroy the ice world that Serafall had created. Even Serafall's strongest magic was unable to freeze her; in the worst case, the only thing she could do was stun her.

"Serafall, it seems that your magic only works to freeze opponents with that same violent aura of yours. It's tedious. "

Grayfia said calmly, as she managed to neutralize Serafall's aura with herown. Serafall began to get frustrated seeing that her freezing aura was practically useless against the descendant of Lucifage. Serafall and Grayfia found themselves enveloped in a back and forth of giant auras in the sky.

"Grayfia, if you hadn't joined that side, freezing Damaidus would have been easy!" "I am a descendant of the Lucifage Family. I wouldn't dare to join your side. "

"I thought we were friends." "Me too. But this is inevitable. "

Serafall and Grayfia continued their furious back and forth with destructive auras against each other for several days.--Volume 0, Chapter 3.

IV-3-Knight(×2): Okita Souji:

"I will introduce them, to all of you then."

Rias realised that we were shocked by these unexpected and unknown visitors, so their introductions began. First, it was the man wearing a haori….Okita-san.

"He is my brother's only [Knight], Okita Souji. He is also Yuuto's sword master. All of you also know him from the Shinsengumi, correct?"--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

Introduced somewhat fairly early, Okita Souji is the historical figure from Japan history. He was one of the greatest swordmen to ever be in history despite suffering from Tuberculosis. He required 2 Knight pieces from Sirzechs Lucifer to reincarnated him.

What I would like to tell you all however, is the different take of DxD on him, something I realised that pretty much all the fandom don't realise:

Okita-san smiles at Irina's shocked voice.

"Yes, that is correct. At that time I left the battlefield due to my disease and to avoid dying from tuberculosis I lay my hands on various rituals. By chance, or a miracle, I ended up summoning that person, Sirzechs-sama. Back then he was in the form of a black cat."--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

This is how he met Sirzechs, he was looking for a way to cure his tuberculosis and so had to seek rituals and all kind of things. It is what this has done however, that makes Okita Souji of the DxD different from all the iterations I have ever saw:

"When he kept on repeating his rituals, Souji-san's body became the home of monsters."

The man wearing the robe gave me extra information.

Then from behind Okita-san….a huge monster appeared which has the face of a monkey, the limbs of a tiger and a snake as its tail! A mixed monster! A chimera!

Okita-san pats the monsters head.

"This is a youkai called Nue….. It might be quicker if I say it is a Japanese version of a chimera. Due to the rituals, many youkai started living in my body... So I was able to perform a "Hitori Hyakki Yakkou"."

So many youkai like that are living in Okita-san's house! Hyakki Yakkou, just what kind of state is that!

"That's why he probably needed two [Knight] pieces. The ones who were fighting the anti-monsters, created from Jabberwocky, were Souji-san's youkais."

The man wearing the robe explained.

....Since he is a "Hitori Hyakki Yakkou" he needed two of Sirzechs-sama's [Knight] pieces. The question is how many dozens worth, of people's work, he can perform. The point where he can fight all of the anti-monsters created from Jabberwocky makes him insane in many ways!

His skill with using swords is so great that you probably need to put several words of "super", your sword skills, right? So that means Kiba's master is on a different level!

"The things I learned from master were, the way to use swords and fighting posture, rather than his swordsmanship style. So my swordsmanship style isn't completely that of "Tennen Rishin-ryu""--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

This Okita Souji in DxD, because of the many many rituals he tried, became a host for a dozen or so different Yōkai, this paired up with his legendary skill in blade work made him a great foe not to be messed with, and what made Sirzechs need 2 Knight pieces to reincarnate.

IV-4-Bishop(×2): MacGregor Mathers:

Rias then moves the introductions along, "Next, I will introduce Onii-sama's [Bishop]."

After Okita-san's introduction ended, the man wearing a robe, who has been explaining everything to us, nods to us. His movements were filled with elegance.

His age also appears to be that of someone in his late twenties, just like Okita-san. The long silts of his eyes and his shallow smile make him look bewitching. His hair, which is a mixture of black and blonde, is long and slightly wavy.

"MacGregor's full name is MacGregor Mathers. He is a user of modern western magic and he is one of the founders of the "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn". I think he is also famous for compiling and translating the book about the 72 Pillars."--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

Next we have the most famous Magicians of modern times, a founder of the Golden Dawn and an unparalleled genius in magic. Mathers name speaks for itself if you know remotely anything about modern Mysticism and Occult. He required 2 Bishop pieces for Sirzechs to reincarnate.

Keep in mind that, the stronger the devil is, the less pieces they have to use to reincarnate a person. Sirzechs could've probably reincarnated Issei with one or 2 Pawn pieces.

Besides this, Mathers was also able to compile and translate the Lesser Key of Solomon, also known own as the Lemegeton, which has details about the 72 pillars.

IV-5-Rock(Mutated): Sutur 2nd:

And the last one to be introduced is….the huge man.

He takes a step forward with a loud laugh "Gahaha". He says loudly, while pointing at himself with his thumb.

"Now, it's my turn! I am one of the [Rook] of boss Sirzechs! Surtr Second-sama! Now, fight me! Kneel before me! As if! Gahahahahaha!"

…..He really acts, how he looks! Like his appearance, he does make me feel great temperament coming from him! He appears to be in his mid-thirties with a good body build.

Rias also introduces him while smiling.

"He is a copy of the fire giant Surtr from Norse Mythology. The Surtr, who is said to have lit the World Tree Yggdrasil on fire, while bringing an army of giants with him."--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

We now have one of 2 Rocks of Sirzechs' peerage. Sutur the second is a copy of the Flame Giant Sutur himself, the being that is said to burn down Yygdrasil in the future. The original actually appears in Azazel Cup against Cao Cao, in which he uses Lævateinn, a sword that can summon black flames that Devours gods and the word alike:

『To think you would be able to go so far, humans' hero. You did well, harming us so much. Therefore―――I'm going to show it to you. What a God's armament is really like!』

As soon as he shouted this, Surtr held his large hand high in the sky and created a fierce―――jet-black flame there.

Surtr itself was also covered in black flames.

Its sight reminded me of a passage from Norse mythology that I had read before.

―――That individual was called『Black』, or『The Black One』.

―――In the [Norse mythology], he was the absolute giant who protects the burning land of 『Muspelheim』 in the far south of the world.

―――In the『Edda』, it is said that he'll burn the world to nothing.

―――His name is Surtr, King of Muspell.

In Surtr's right hand, burning with a mighty aura, was a sword of black flames.

Surtr said,

『―――Lævateinn.』

Watching the scene, the current Governor of Grigori, Shemhazai-san, who was working as a commentator in the live coverage, said.

"We should strengthen the battlefield immediately. That thing burns everything up.... It is a black flame that burns everything to ashes!"--Volume DX7, Extra Life.

But anyways, seeing that he is a copy of this giant mother fucker, you can see why he would need a Mutated Rick to reincarnate. As for why he met Sirzechs, here:

He is a copy of that legendary being....? If he is a copy, does that means he is a clone? It's one of those things which uses the same cells and stuff, right? Is it okay to think of him like that?

"The Norse Gods were somehow able to make a copy of Surtr, but the copy started to go berserk."

The [Bishop], MacGregor-san, explains. This person really likes to explain, maybe he just likes to talk. MacGregor-san continues.

"They discarded him because they couldn't control him. Sirzechs-sama appeared and made him his servant, using a [Mutation Rook] piece. Since he is a copy, he was given the name "Second"."

--!

[Mutation Piece]!? On top of that he is Sirzechs-sama's [Rook], which is a [Mutation Piece]!?

I can't measure just how much Surtr is worth, but he is the [Rook] of that Sirzechs-sama(Worth 5 [Pawns]!) and on top of that, a [Mutation Piece] was used!?

Just how much potential power does he hold!? How many [Pawns] would he be worth if they calculate in the Rating Game method!?

I was completely shocked about it but the giant, Surtr Second-san, speaks after making a sigh and breathing out fire.

"Yeah, I was abandoned by those shits from the Norse and boss Sirzechs saved me, when I was burning with my own flames. Thanks to that I learnt how to use my fire completely and I was able to follow the boss as the strongest [Rook] in the Underworld!"--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

So yeah, when he was created, he couldn't really control his flame so he was burning himself, which made the Norse god throw him away. Sirzechs then found him and gave him a Mutated Rock, which helped him finally withstand his fire and learn to completely master it.

Besides that, we also k ow he can grow in size if he wants:

So Grayfia-san is the strongest [Queen], and this huge man is the strongest [Rook]! It's becoming so big that my head is about to explode.

But the [Bishop] MacGregor puts on a bitter smile.

"The so-called strongest Rook-sama turned into a giant at the start of the battle against Jabberwocky, used his serious fire and wasted it, losing all of his energy and couldn't participate in the last battle. Geez, that Jabberwocky was an anti-monster on a totally different level for Devils and it was also explained that it had powerful regeneration beforehand….. We wouldn't have had to waste that much time defeating it, if we took him on after we received Ajuka-sama's anti-spells for it. Your fire is so powerful that it can burn everything if you use it to the fullest, you know. Well, if you don't fail, that is"--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

So he can make himself bigger and is considered the strongest "Rock".

You know, thinking about it, all of Sirzechs peerage fought against Jabberwocky and weren't able to win.

To be more broad, the whole Underworld, with help of some Norse Valkyries and Yōkai fought against the Annihilation Maker Balance Breaker and they were pretty much losing. Goes to show how ridiculous Longinus really are. Annihilation Maker is long over due in fact, so next rant is about it.

IV-6-Rock: Bahamut:

Now some explanation of the setting behind the scene. Among Sirzechs's group there is the "Kougyou of the Deep Sea", Bahamut; among Serafall's group there is "Magical Beast King of the Earth," Behemoth; among Ajuka's group there is "King Snake of the Realm of the Dead", Falak; and among Falbium's group there is the "Blue Holy Bull", Kuyutha. They are all legendary creatures.

For them to appear just for the setting...…probably won't happen. I just revealed it to the fans who likes the setting of it.--Volume 8, Afterword.

"Bahamoot who is the same [Rook] was more useful, at both the start and the end of the battle. It was wiping out the small anti-monsters together with Souji-san's youkais."

The name Bahamoot which appeared in MacGregor-san's sentences. I have heard about it before. It's a legendary monster which glows in a light, right? Not only can it swim in the ocean, but I heard it is a giant fish which can also swim in the sky. That fish monster is also part of Sirzechs-sama's group and is his [Rook] huh…..

"I have told you many times not to put me in the same category as that fish!"--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

As we can see, Bahamut is a regular Rock of Sirzechs' peerage, he is a giant fish monster that can glow. He can swim freely in the deepest of oceans and fly in the sky. He is also quite strong.

Bahamut, or Bahamoot is a monster that lies deep below, underpinning the support structure that holds up the earth, according to Arabic mythology. We mentioned him above with Falak if you didn't pay attention.

IV-7-Pawn(?×): Beowulf:

The one who appeared, while everyone was looking at him was....a man with brown hair, who was breathing heavily. He looks like he is in his mid twenties and he is wearing a business suit.

"I..I finally caught up….."

The man takes a breath while putting his hand on the wall. Seeing that Surtr Second-san mutters.

"You're late, Beo."

"…..What are you saying. Second-san, you were the one telling me to carry this and that. The one who transported all the souvenirs, bought in Japan, to the Underworld was me!"

The man called Beo, who seems dissatisfied, was pointed at by MacGregor-san and he started to give his explanation.

"He is the other [Pawn] of Sirzechs-sama, --Beowulf. He is the descendant of the hero Beowulf and lost completely against Sirzechs-sama after he challenged him to a fight; he then asked if he could become his servant."--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

We have one of only 2 Pawns of Sirzechs Lucifer. Beowulf, a Descandent of the hero Beowulf. He is quite the strong human, as he was able to challenge Sirzechs:

Beowulf looks like he's easygoing, but he's famous for being one of the Top-5 [Pawns] in the Underworld. He is Onii-sama's [Pawn] after all. He's a strong foe who you cannot judge by his appearance. After all, before reincarnating, he wounded Onii-sama in a one-on-one battle."

He is among the Top-5 [Pawns]! So he is quite a skilled person then. On top of that he is a descendant of a hero. ...Is it possible for a man like him, who shows such a pathetic side, to have the strength of Cao Cao?--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

Now before anyone starts having delusions of grandeur, no, it isn't as Impressive as it sounds:

Wounding that Sirzechs-sama is something huge….!

"He just made a tiny cut on his arm. After that, he was battered into pieces. Right?"

Because of MacGregor-san's unnecessary words, Beowulf-san gets teary eyes again.

"Man! Hime-sama was saying good stuff about me! For those who are seeing me for the first time, their image of me will be the worst!"--Volume 13, Life Extra, Part 3.

Yeahhhh, well that's that. I mean, good job for him, this is Sirzechs after all, but still. Despite this, we don't know exactly how many pieces were required to reincarnate Beowulf. Personally, I would say 2 to 3 pieces. All we know is that Sirzechs peerage is complete. So his Pawn pieces are between 2 individuals, and the next one is certainly stronger than Beowulf.

IV-8-Pawn(?×): Enku:

"It has been a while Hime-sama."

Another voice. When I looked at the direction where the voice came from there was a strange creature! The face looked like an Asian-dragon. It seems like a dragon and it had red scales throughout its body. But the torso looks like either a horse or deer. The size is about 2 metres I think. Either way it's a creature I am seeing for the first time. I mean, was this the one that spoke? It seems like it realised I was looking at it and the creature bows its head down to me.

"Oh if it isn't Sekiryuutei-dono. This is our first meeting. I'm a "Pawn" that serves Sirzechs-sama, and my name is Enku. Pleased to make your acquaintance."--Volume 8, Extra Life, Part 1.

This here is Enku, the other Pawn of Sirzechs Lucifer. For those who didn't recognise what he is from the description, here you go:

"Ise. He is Enku. He is a Kirin, which is a legendary creature and is Onii-sama's servant. It's been a while Enku. I'm glad that you look healthy."

Buchou pats Enku.... The Kirin's neck with her hand. So it's the Kirin that doesn't have a long neck. Even I know it's name. I don't know the details about it but it's the one that appears in Chinese folklore. But Sirzechs-sama has a legendary creature as his servant..... It said that it is a "Pawn" but it definitely isn't worth only 1 or 2 pieces. Even if it is a same "Pawn" as me, he seems like he is in a different league as me.--Volume 8, Extra Life, Part 1.

Enku here is a Kirin, a Divine Creature that is worshiped in China. And yes, you heard that correctly, it is a Divine creature.

For those who don't realise the significance of this, let's do a little summary: Generally speaking, Evil Pieces can't reincarnate a God or a Divine being. It is a limitation that was discovered fairly early in its history.

Sirzechs however, is an exception it appears, or he is just that much of a Chad really:

"By the way, Sirzechs-sama is the only person among the devils who was able to make a sacred creature into his servant. Originally the two sides have relationships that are mutually exclusive. Making that possible makes Sirzechs-sama belong to a different league compared to others."--Volume 8, Extra Life, Part 1.

Other than that, we know that Kirin can bless a house they visit with "Fortune" and "Good Luck", which isn't surprising, since Telos Karma is a thing:

"I thought I should bring "fortune" to Sekiryuutei-dono's residence by coming along with you. More than that I'm glad to see the face of Hime-sama and Sekiryuutei-dono who is the Waka."

I see. Officially visiting here as Sirzechs-sama's wife and Buchou's sister-in-law is a serious matter. Wait, "Waka" again. Where does my position stand? But what does he mean by "fortune"? I was in doubt and Akeno-san whispers to my ear.

"Kirin is said to bring great fortune. It's said that if it visits a house, something good will happen to that house."

Hmm. That's good. I'm grateful. I hope something good happens to my house.--Volume 8, Extra Life, Part 1.

And that's that. This is a basic summary on the 4 New Maous and their Peerage. This is the longest rant after the True Longinus so I'll be taking a break for some time. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
