Magic Show

After arriving in California and settling himself with Noah's family, Ryujin didn't do much for the first month. He familiarised himself with the locals and also got close to the neighbors.

It was just another day when the four of them were having dinner. What was odd was that both Emma and Noah had weird expressions while Ryujin and the little Olivia ignored them.

Olivia was sitting on Ryuji's lap as he fed her breakfast while telling her interesting stories while she happily laughed and giggled.

What caused Noah and Emma to have weird expressions was that Olivia and Ryujin were too close, To the point that Olivia didn't leave his side at all.

Emma looked into Ryujin's eyes as he fed Olivia. She found it strange, why did he seem so sad whenever he was with Olivia.

Of course, Ryujin could sense their gaze but he ignored them. The last month had been the most peaceful for him.

He had spoiled and pampered Olivia as if she was his sister. How could she not get attached to him?

Well besides being a good brother he was also constantly searching for any information regarding Grauzauberer and Lavinia.

But he knew his stay with them was going to end soon, he had found a few clues regarding 'The Grey Wizards'.

After thanking Emma for the breakfast he headed out.

He wore the same white shirt and pants he had on when he first came to California. He took out a black mask and wore it.

It covered the lower half of his face.

He let his hair stay messy and started walking towards the car and drove it away. He had borrowed it from Noah. It was Saturday so he didn't need the car today.

Having driven for around 10 minutes he arrived at his destination.

It was a large entrance and it had a huge banner ahead of it that wrote,

Ryujin took out a ticket from his pocket and glanced at it before looking above again, "Pretty fancy."

He had heard of this happening from Noah and he immediately grew interested in it. There could a chance of meeting a real magician there and if his luck was good then even Lavinia could be there.

The show would start at 11 am while he was here at 10:30 am.

Why?

Well, he was one of the participating magicians.

After having entered the venue he glanced at the staff that still seemed to be preparing some things. He walked towards one and asked where the waiting room was.

After getting the directions he headed towards the waiting room and saw a lot of chairs and tables.

There were around 20-25 people present there. They were all the people who had passed the preliminaries. All of them including Ryujin were the best of the best.

They looked at the newcomer for a second before swiftly returning to what they were doing.

After all, Ryujin didn't look any special besides his silky smooth green hair that even some of the girls envied.

His appearance was quite normal compared to some others who had all sorts of spikes on their bodies or others who had weird clown-like getups.

Ryujin didn't pay them attention and sat down alone on a table in the corner. He chose this one because he could see everyone from there.

Making himself comfortable he glanced at everyone in the area. His eyes roamed over when suddenly they stopped at a particular figure that seemed to be happily chatting with some others.

It was a beautiful buxom young woman with long flowing blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. She appeared to wear standard Magician robes with a hood.

His eyes narrowed as he felt a sense of danger from her.

Lavinia was having quite the fun talking to these people she had just met. Though she was bored at the start, she was now enjoying herself.

She was just about to continue the conversation when she sensed someone looking at her. She turned her eyes and tried to lock onto the person but she found everyone doing their own things.

'Was it a mistake?'

Soon she forgot about it and waited for the competition to start not knowing the eyes that were previously observing were now full of glee.

"Lavinia," Ryujin muttered under his breath. He had finally found her. She didn't look like an adult yet but he could tell that she was older than him.

He felt his shoulders lightening as he breathed a sigh of relief.

The first step of his plan was complete.

The second step was to get her interested in him.

When he thought of this he was reminded of the times he tried picking up girls from his college or bars.

He needed to gauge her personality first. Although he trusted the anime he couldn't blindly believe it. A person's personality could change due to various reasons and the one he was targeting was a younger version of Lavinia.

She could have a totally different personality than her future self.

A suitable way to find out someone's personality was either talking with them and observing them or conflict and how they behave during the conflict.

Now, He couldn't just go and talk to her, he didn't want to get her suspicious for the wrong reasons, and nor could he fight her, honestly the idea of currently finding trouble with her was idiotic.

He looked around again and his eyes landed on a buff person that was a little loud. He was showing his friends the magic he would use on stage. He had short black hair and eyes. His face was above average as well.

Seeing this Ryujin smirked under his mask.
