Sun and Wings

While everyone is trying their best to defeat Icarus, who is now a bit weakened because of Sue's will to not be devoured by pride, Sue remembers the time when her friend Lark decided to be frank to her face for the first time.

"Sue. You need to chill for a bit. You're too egoistic that everyone started to gossip about you."

But Sue didn't want to listen to her warnings and even insisted that she is not that self-centered like what people think.

"I know you befriended me because I am so unattractive, that people will tell you how pretty you are when you're around me." Lark added and it made Sue guilty silent.

"T-that is not true..."

"Yes it is! You left your bestfriend for so long just because you feel inferior. But girl, even if I know all of that I still accepted you as a friend." Lark even added that even if Sue's intent to befriend her is quite ridiculous and negative, she still enjoys her company. That Lark can accept her good side but cannot tolerate her bad side, so she wanted Sue to change her bad attitude. She knows it's not as easy as she thinks it would be, but she still wants to try.

"One day all of the people around will turn their backs on you. I don't want to see you miserable."

From that conversation, Sue finally convinced herself to change - not in an instant but slowly. Right then her reputation went back to normal, and she is proud to say that she is trying to change for the better.

"I know I am a proud person, and I always will be. But there are things pride can affect me negatively, and those are the shits I want to throw away." Sue stated to the entity right in front of them. Icarus' wings vanished in thin air, leaving it free falling from the sky. Its gold arms turned to dust that cannot take shape into any other forms anymore. On the ground, the scattered gold shines as the sun's radiance hit them, sparkling like glitters.

"I don't want to be forgotten!" Icarus exclaimed in agony, and Sue replied,

"You're still deep inside of me, and I know it's hard to get rid of you completely. You will stay in this sky island as a miserable being with no arms nor wings. The sun will closely look down on you as you stay on the ground helpless."

"You think you can change, huh?" The entity provoked.

"I want to reach the sun so bad, I let my wings burn. Without those glorious wings, I am nothing. I have to live like a new person now." Sue replied and whisper to her energy gun,

"Thank you for staying with me."
