0.3 They don’t care (Tommyinnit)

A girl and a boy, siblings who loved each other deeply. Both parents at home, just as they were. The two had been streaming on a social app called Twitch. The young boy was answering questions in the chat, whilst the young girl was running around on a Minecraft world. The boys eyes were searching through the chat, looking for words of wisdom after he had seen a few comments he wish he hadn't. Haters had never gotten to the two, but after a while, it started getting to the boy. The boy had started struggling because of it, the girl had yet to know about it. Every day the boy woke up, jumped out of bed and hoped on discord to talk to his friends. As did the girl. Until one day, the boy stopped doing that. Nobody noticed though. Nobody noticed anything changing with the boys spirits. They all thought he was the same.

He was convinced everyone hated him, while his sister was convinced everyone loved him. He was convinced he shouldn't live, his sister on the other hand- was convinced other wise. She didn't notice anything wrong with him, she didn't notice how he had gotten paler. She hadn't noticed how he had gotten skinnier. She didn't notice how he stopped getting out of bed so quickly. She didn't notice how he stopped being himself. Nobody did.

Everyday the boy had thrown his food in the trash, without anyone seeing. Everyday the boy had forgotten to shower, or brush his teeth. Everyday the boy had lower spirit. Everyday the boy was hated on.

Every night the boy had cried, the boy had cried so hard he felt like he would throw up. He cried so hard he had nothing left in him to cry about. Every night he went to bed with the same thoughts on his mind 'they don't care'. But what he didn't notice; was that they did care. Everyone cared, they just didn't notice anything wrong. The boys favourite reason for getting up in the morning, had turned into his worst nightmare. The boys most beloved friends; had turned into his biggest fear. He hated it. He hated them, but he loved them to much to tell them. The boy felt sad. He felt depressed, and hungry, but he just couldn't eat. And he just couldn't find something, or someone to make him happy.

His friends stopped calling. They stopped texting, that made the boy even sadder. They didn't even notice that he ghosted them. Yet they didn't seem to care. They always told the boy how they loved him, and how they'd always be there for him, but the truth had to get out eventually. The boy realized; it was all lies. It was just for jokes.

Weeks had past since it all started; the thoughts. The boy had wished they'd go away, he wished for anything for them to away. He just wanted to be happy again, but he couldn't be. He didn't know how.

The boy had a pocket knife, he didn't use it. But he wanted to. He didn't want to hurt anyone any more than he already had. But then again, he didn't care. The boy stepped into his bathroom one day when nobody was home, bringing the knife with him. He looked into the mirror; his hair was so knotty, his eyes had bags under them. His shirt was dirty, he hadn't showered in at least a week. He looked at his arms. 'Do it' his thoughts yelled at him. He screamed, he screamed for them to go away. But they didn't. They stayed right there, just taunting him. And tormenting him. He couldn't stand it. He picked up the knife, pulled the blade out and brought it up to his wrist. He closed his eyes tightly, dragging the blade along his arm, he could feel the blood trickling down his skin. The warm red blood, travelling into the sink below. He heard the door open, to hear his sisters voice from downstairs, calling at him to come down. He pulled the blade back and closed the knife, leaving the blood on the sink by accident. He hid the scar, and the knife and ran downstairs as fast as his tired legs could go.

He made it downstairs, but he could barley move by the time he got down there. The girl noticed how pale he was, she noticed how skinny he was, she asked if he was okay. He said he was fine, until everything went black for him. The girl screamed as the boy fell down onto the ground, passed right out. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and called 911, waiting for an ambulance to come she tried to wake the boy up. It wouldn't work.

By the time the ambulance was there, the girl was drained from tears, and the boy was still passed out. He got pulled onto a stretcher, and into the ambulance.

Once they got to the hospital, the boy was in bed. Still sleeping, his heart monitor was signifying everything was okay and running smoothly. He had IV tubes hooked up to him, pumping stuff into his blood and veins to keep him alive. The girl was sitting in a chair beside him, along with the siblings mother on the other side. They were holding the boys hands, waiting for him to awaken.

The two girls were quiet, listening to the faint sounds of the beeping from the heart monitor. Until it ended with one long beep. The girl started freaking out, she didn't know what was happening. The mother called a doctor, only for the two girls to get pulled out of the room.

Ten minutes later a doctor came out, and told them the boy hadn't made it. He told them he hadn't a enough food in his body, or any fluids at all to keep running properly. The doctor mentioned how the boy had cuts on his arms, which the two girls still hadn't noticed. The young girl started crying, the mother didn't, but she was sad. She was too sad to cry. The young girl backed up into the wall, and slid down to the floor.

The boy was gone. He was really gone. And he left the girl alone, thinking it was all her fault.
