What to expect

You will either love this story or hate this story. My goal with this message is to filter out those who will waste their time reading this book. I'll say this right off the bat this is not wish fulfillment or reincarnation or any of that trash. Sorry, that's just not my thing.

There are two interpretations of Gohan: The badass, cold-blooded killer or the studious kid who loves nature and earth and will do anything to protect it. 

I am one of the people who interpret him as the latter. Gohan does not enjoy fighting as his father does; however, that does not mean he is a pussy either. Within Gohan is the desire to protect Earth and even deeper inside of him is a Saiyan rage far beyond anything that anyone has ever seen. I don't care if you disagree with me, I already know some will, but that is how I see Gohan. This is what makes the character appeal to me. He is forced to fight. It's tragically beautiful, especially when it comes to Future Gohan.

This story will follow Gohan starting at the 25th World Tournament, just before the Buu arc, and will continue through Super. If I make it past Super, I'll start making stuff up or I will combine ideas from GT. This version of Gohan will be true to the character. He will not be an Alpha badass like you see in these other fanfics. If that's what you want, you have come to the wrong place.

What you are getting here is a look at what Gohan would have been like if his father never came back and he had to keep fighting. We will see how he becomes something similar to the one-armed Gohan we all love in Trunk's timeline. Of course, he will be different as different events will play out.

He will not be a coward, but he will also not be a battle-obsessed person like his father or Vegeta (I love you Goku but you are a psychopath sometimes). It's all business with Gohan, doing what's best for his people and his family. 

The early chapters will be very similar to what's canon since Goku was barely reintroduced here. Over time, the story will transform and will become less similar and predictable. 

If you are a fan of Gohan for what he really is, you will enjoy this story. If you like Gohan for what headcanons say he is, you will not.

Bonus:

I was gonna leave this out but I am a big Goten and Trunks fan. I am unhappy with them being given nothing to do in recent years and I plan on changing that, especially with Goku being gone. So, Trunks and Goten fans, you have something to look forward to.
