Trial of Lordship part 1.

This simple gesture sent shivers down her spine. Even though this was her first time meeting Raden, something felt oddly familiar about him.

The cold smirk on his face reminded her of Sammy when he came to fight with her the other day.

Scrutiny skill has been activated, Elena activated her scrutiny skill with the hope of finding out more about Raden, to her horror, she got nothing.

sigh, "Why do I feel my scrutiny skill is becoming less reliable lately." Elena wondered.

Returning her attention once more to the vampire noble that was overseeing the trial, she realised the first phase was about to start.

For this phase of the trial, all of them were required to undergo an illusion base test. Four spherical orbs were placed in front of Raden, Austin, Elena, and Kyle.

The orbs were meant to send them into a world of illusion , one where they would all require a high resistance to illusion magic in order to pass to the next phase. if a participant was killed in the illusion world, their consciousness will automatically be sent back to their body, and that means instant disqualification.

She stepped forward and placed her hands on the orb in front of her. with a sudden jolt , she got a system notification.

System Notification:

Warning: illusion magic detected.

Hosts intelligence stat is enough to counter present illusion magic.

Warning: Step away from the orb. Otherwise, your consciousness will be teleported into an imaginary world of illusion.

After reading the system notification, Elena's grip on the orb tightened. three seconds later, with a sudden jolt, her consciousness was pulled forcefully into the orb.

Upon arriving in the illusory world, Elena saw that the others had also arrived. They all stood at that starting point.

A robotic voice sounded directly in their mind, instructing them on what and what not to do.

The rules were simple. In order to exit the illusory world, all participants are required to acquire a flame lily flower.

The illusory world was actually a large garden filled with flowers, flowers that look identical to the flame lily flower.

Among the hundreds of thousands of flowers present in the illusory world were only two real Flame Lily Flowers.

To clear this phase of the trial successfully, the participants would need to compete with one another in identifying and acquiring the real flame lily flower.

To acquire a flower, one would have to find a way to pass through the defence of the various insect-like beasts that were tasks to guard different locations in the flower field.

After explaining everything to them in detail, the robotic voice instructed them to begin. the time required in completing this phase of the trial was 2 hours.

Elena felt this would be a walk in the park as she would be able to identify the flame lily flower easily.

The problem was that the garden was extremely large, covering hundreds of thousands of kilometres.

From where they were all standing, it was impossible for them to see the end of the large flower garden.

The first vampire to make a move was Raden. From the moment the robotic voice signalled the start of the trial, his eyes began emitting a dark glow.

Using the same type of dark energy that Sammy had used to attack elena previously, he lept upwards and then began air gliding. scanning through the large garden from above.

Kyle, on the other hand, had a speed related ability. After activating his ability, he began sprinting forward with great speed, leaving after images in his path.

Due to his speed and the amount of wind power his speed was generating, he succeeded in drawing the attention of many insect-like beasts to himself.

No matter how fast he was running, the beasts were able to match his speed effortlessly. currently, more than 200 beasts were trailing behind him.

He was left with no choice but to keep running, engaging 200 beasts that were in the legendary tier at once would result in him being killed for sure.

Following Raden's footsteps, Austin, being a wind ability user, could fly at will. so joining Raden in the air, he also began scanning through the fields of flowers.

Since this was an illusory world, Elena knew she wouldn't be able to use her dragon set Armour or the flame sword. Instead, she first of all activated her scrutiny skill.

Scanning hundreds of meters ahead, she could see that none of the flowers in the areas where she had scanned was the actual flame lily flower.

so she activated her shape-shifting skill, taking the appearance of a hornet beast she had noticed among the 200 beasts that were chasing after Kyle.

After taking on the appearance of a hornet beast, elena began flying closely above the flowers, using her scrutiny skill to scan as she moved forward.

After running aimlessly for 30 minutes, the beasts that were tailing behind Kyle began sending out sound signals, calling for the other beasts ahead to attack Kyle.

in a few minutes, Kyle was surrounded by several beasts. left with no choice. He was forced to stop running and fight.

Sending out several fist attacks that were fused with vampiric energies at the beasts in quick succession, he was only able to deal little damage before he was overpowered by the beasts and his consciousness was sent back to his body.

back in the coronation arena, his orb was glowing a crimson colour, signifying that he had been killed in the illusory world, which meant instant disqualification.

Raden, on the other hand, noticed Austin flying closely behind him. Turning around while still in the air began hauling several attacks at Austin.

Not expecting the attacks, Austin was unable to dodge the incoming attacks on time. As a result, he took two critical hits on the chest.

This sent him crashing into the field of flowers beneath. And with a jolt in his mind, he opened his eyes in the real world. After this, his disqualification was announced.

This left Raden and Elena as the only two participants in the illusory world. since elena had disguised herself as a beast, she was able to move freely without being attacked by any beast.

hence, when Raden attacked Austin earlier, she noticed both of them but decided it would be best for her not to interfer.

Blaze has been activated. She increased her speed while still scanning the entire area with her scrutiny skill. Not quite long, with the help of her scrutiny skill, she was able to detect the real flame lily flower.

Flying downwards, she positioned herself on the ground next to the flower before transforming back to herself.

Seeing an intruder standing next to the flower, all the beasts in the area quickly turned their attention to her, ready to send out their strongest attack.

Shaking her head, as if telling them she wasn't ready for any confrontation whatsoever, Elena activated her camouflage skill, blending in with her environment before rushing forward to picking the Flame lily flower.

with a sudden jolt, she opened her eyes, and she was back in the arena with the orb glowing a brilliant emerald light, making her the first participant to successfully clear the first trial.

Oblivious to the fact that someone has already cleared the trial, Raden kept scanning through the large field. 20 minutes later, his orb also glowed an emerald light signalling his clearing of the trial.

making him and Elena the remaining participants. whoever wins the next trial will become the next Lord or lady of the third kingdom.

Since Elena was the first participant to clear the last trial, she was presented with the opportunity of picking the format of the next trial.

placed in front of her were three stones. underneath the stones were several trial names. Seeing that whatever she chose will be the nature of the next trial, elena decided to use her scrutiny skill to check what was underneath each stone before making her pick.

Much to her horror, she was unable to uncover anything with her scrutiny skill. It was as if a barrier was preventing her skill from scanning the stones.

After sighing helplessly, she settled for the stone in the middle. The trial format that was recorded underneath the stone was the combat type. This means she would have to fight with Raden in a duel.
