Chapter 15

"Marriage? Do you mean he wants you to get married?" Will asked as he opened a brand new bottle of wine that had been placed on the shelf. With two glass cups in his other hand, he approached Din.

"Before the end of the month," Din finished as he watched his pal approach him.

Williams threw the cups down and filled them. He handed one to his buddy. 'That's fantastic news. Right? Beth is someone you've always wanted to marry. I'm surprised your grandfather has finally accepted her."

With a shake of his head, Din expressed his discontent with the situation. "That's the issue. He wants me to marry someone else, not Beth." He took the cup of wine in his hand and downed it all at once.

"If not Beth, who else? Do you have any ideas or are you in love with someone else right now?" Din's cup was refilled by Will.

Din shook his head. Disagreeing with his friend. "I told you earlier that two people would get on my nerves. Right?" Will smiled and nodded. "One of them is my granddad."

"I'm aware of that. And what about the second one?"

"Jessie. She goes by that name," Din remarked. He almost drank the wine all at once again when his friend snatched the cup away from him,

"Please, sir." Will knocked Din's cup on the table. "Who is Jessie?" "Did you meet a hookup girl named Jessie?"

"I'm going to marry Jessie. She is the girl my grandfather chose."

"What? Is she a random girl? That's incomprehensible."

Din clasped his hands together in front of him. "No! Williams, this isn't great! He recently told me that I had to marry her without my permission before the end of the month. "How could that be?" Din was the one who asked.

"If the girl agrees, it's doable. Is she attractive? Is it okay if I look at her photos?" Will raised a question but was met with Din's frown.

"Not funny, brosef," Din shifted his gaze away from Will and drew the cup back toward himself. 'I haven't met her yet but she is not all that from the photograph I saw. Everything revolves around Beth."

"You should have declined then. You had the option of telling him you didn't want it. What do you have to lose by refusing your grandfather's request?"

Din scoffed and shifted his sight to his pal, who returned his stare. "The company Williams. The fucking company!" "He didn't request it. He commanded."

"Oh."

"Yes! He threatened to take the company away from me, which enraged me even more."

"What?" Williams enquired.

'He said he'd pass it on to Henry.'

"No..."

Din gave a slow nod. "I'm mad and I need to get drunk, so please let me at least drink." He drank the entire wine from the cup which he had placed in his mouth.

Will felt sorry for his friend. He was about to be dragged into a marriage that he didn't want.

"When you called earlier, you mentioned you wanted to show me something. What exactly is it?" Din was the one who inquired.

Williams recalled something. "I got some things for Vegas and I thought we should go there to have fun, but now that you told all these stories about your grandfather forcing you into an inconvenient marriage, I believe you will need this more than I do."

"Can you tell me what that is?"

"I've purchased tickets to Las Vegas, and you must attend the party to get this image out of your head." Will took a few steps forward and unlocked his drawer. He returned to his friend with two tickets in his hand. He strewed the tickets on the table. "There you have it."

Din gave a shaky nod. "I'm sorry, but I can't go." I have to go to work."

Williams took the ticket from the table and bestowed it on Din.

"Don't worry about it; you'll be back tomorrow morning. It's just a party, and you can drink whenever and whatever you want. It's a place where you'll feel more at ease."

"Vegas?" Din examined the ticket in his hand. He considered how nice it would be if he could leave LA for just one night and get drunk in Vegas to get his mind off things.

"Say it a little louder." Williams let out a sigh.

"Vegas!" Din yelled.

"Yes!! Let's get started." Will yelled as he stepped away from the stool and grabbed his coat. "I'll take the wheel." He took Din's car key. "Come on, come on."

Din followed his friend out the door of his workplace. It was only for a few hours. There wouldn't be harm in going. What was the worst that would happen on that night? What was the worst that could happen in Vegas?
