Bad Luck

Lan Si made up his mind without hesitation. He activated the Sacred Universe Art and the Five Thunder Heart Technique at the same time, and his whole body was enveloped in cyan-white energy. 

Lightning surged around him, and his speed increased to its limit. He leaped off the Green Lotus platform, summoned his Clear Sky Bamboo Mallet Martial Soul, and rushed toward the Soul Devouring Spider.

His speed was so fast that it left afterimages in the air.

Qian Renxue was a proud woman, with a strong desire for control and a focus on interests. As long as the benefits were high enough, she could even abandon Titled Douluo elders who were loyal to her faction.

In the dark, Snake Spear Douluo and Porcupinefish Douluo were also taken aback by what they saw.

Not only had Lan Si driven the Soul Devouring Spider to their young master's location, but he had also seen her martial soul.

Originally, they had planned to kill both the Soul Devouring Spider and Lan Si, but after seeing Lan Si summon his second martial soul, they changed their minds.

"Snake Spear, did I see it right? It's actually a twin martial soul, just like His Holiness," said Porcupinefish Douluo incredulously.

"Yes, no wonder a mere rank 30 Soul Grandmaster was able to drive this over 2,000-year-old Soul Devouring Spider into such a pathetic state. And judging by the appearance of that lightning-covered hammer in his hand, it seems to be no weaker than the Clear Sky Hammer, which is known as the strongest tool martial soul," Snake Spear said gravely.

"So, should we kill him or not?" Porcupinefish Douluo swallowed nervously.

"Let the young master decide. She's about to wake up. Such a genius, if we can't recruit him into the Spirit Hall, must be destroyed," Snake Spear's eyes flashed with ruthlessness.

"I'll follow your lead. Besides, it seems this kid doesn't want the Soul Devouring Spider to harm the young master, which is why he exposed his twin martial souls. As long as he doesn't approach the young master, we won't take action," Porcupinefish Douluo agreed.

While they were talking, Lan Si had already caught up with the Soul Devouring Spider. With a swift motion, he hurled the Clear Sky Hammer from his left hand at a tricky angle. The hammer brought a silver streak of lightning from the side, striking the spider on the head and flipping its huge body through the air. After spinning several times, it crashed to the ground.

Lan Si didn't give the Soul Devouring Spider a chance to catch its breath. He raised the hammer again and attacked furiously. After a few moments, the spider was dead. Small purple lights began to gather above its body, finally forming a purple soul ring.

As the Soul Devouring Spider died, Lan Si sighed in relief. He retracted his martial soul and looked toward Qian Renxue, who was a hundred meters away.

When a soul beast dies, its soul ring can last for an hour. As long as it's absorbed within that time, it won't dissipate.

Lan Si didn't immediately try to absorb the Soul Devouring Spider's soul ring. Although his physical condition wasn't too bad, it wasn't great either. The frequent use of both martial souls had drained most of his stamina, and his soul power was nearly depleted. 

If he rashly absorbed the soul ring of the most evil and violent of soul beasts, he would have to endure the impact of that violent energy. If his body or spirit couldn't handle it, it could result in a fatal backlash.

Most importantly, Qian Renxue was a ticking time bomb nearby.

His handsome face, fair skin, and slender figure, paired with his soft black hair, made a decent first impression on Qian Renxue.

However, she couldn't tolerate anyone approaching her while she was absorbing a soul ring.

Just as Qian Renxue was about to question the two Titled Douluo protecting her, Snake Spear Douluo's voice suddenly sounded in her ear. Using the advanced soul master's ability to transmit sound directly, he explained everything from beginning to end.

When she heard that Lan Si had chased the Soul Devouring Spider to her, she was angry. But when she heard that he had revealed his twin martial souls to kill the spider, her anger turned to surprise.

"So, this boy has twin martial souls?" Qian Renxue transmitted her voice to Snake Spear Douluo and Porcupinefish Douluo.

"Yes, young master. His first martial soul is a green lotus, and his second martial soul is a peculiar hammer. We estimate that the quality and strength of the hammer are no weaker than the Clear Sky Hammer. He looks to be just over twelve, but his soul power has already reached level 30. Using these two martial souls, he chased a Soul Devouring Spider of over 2,000 years to you. He is undoubtedly a genius. Even our Spirit Hall's Golden Generation pales in comparison to him at his age," Snake Spear responded.

"Originally, we planned to kill him immediately since he not only drove the Soul Devouring Spider to you but also saw your martial soul. But after realizing he's a twin martial soul wielder, we decided to let you make the decision," Porcupinefish Douluo added.

"You did well. I will explain this to my grandfather," Qian Renxue smiled with satisfaction and walked toward Lan Si.

As she approached, Lan Si finally saw her up close.

She appeared to be around twenty, with skin as fair as snow, a straight nose, and slender phoenix eyes, exuding a majestic aura. 

She wore a golden palace gown, simple yet elegant, with a high collar protecting her long, snowy neck. Her golden hair hung loosely behind her, contrasting sharply with her meticulously arranged attire.
