I transmigrated?

'First, I don't know how to hunt for food, so it's still better to venture out and check what's on the opposite side of this slope.'

'If I'm lucky, this body probably came from there, so I might see houses and path walks. If I'm not, I would only see mountains and trees once again... and that would mean I'm fucked cause it's freezing here and I'm hungry as hell.'

Lydia took a deep breath in. Once she regained her calm, she approached her make-up shelter and picked a sharp edged stick. Then she fixed her hoodie and started ascending the slope.

When she remembered she had been wondering what her hood looks like when exposed to the light, she pulled it off and stopped.

'This looks like it's made with real fur,' she thought before shifting her eyes to the diamond jewels that are embedded in it.

She rubbed one and wore her hood back before moving ahead. 'That doesn't feel like plastic at all. Besides, the design of the hood is unique.'

'My boots and clothes have a distinct look and feel too, so I've been thinking…'

'I might have…'

'Nahhh… there's no way. There's no way.'

'Transmigration only happens in books and movies. I'll calm down once I see the people here.'

Lydia continued walking and stopped by gradually to rest because of the huge amount of effort required to take each step.

After about fifteen minutes, she reached the top of the hill .

There were houses below it, but they didn't look like the ones she was used to seeing. Besides, most of them had smoke rising from their chimneys.

'Hmn, odd.'

Lydia's eyes narrowed as she stared at the thick, dark smokes coming from the houses.

'I can't see the roofs because of the snow, but I'm pretty sure the houses look the same.'

She raised her hands and shaped them into a telescope to narrow the scope of her vision. Then she took a deep breath in to calm her nerves.

'It somehow feels like I'm looking at medieval houses, but I'm seeing things from a distance, so it's not good to assume.'

Lydia brought her hands down and picked up her stick before descending.

'I'll inspect again once I'm closer. For now, I should think about what will I do once I reach the village,' she thought before looking at her left hand.

When she did not see the mole on her wrist, her eyes narrowed. 'This is definitely not my body, and that's a problem.'

'I'm sure my parents would recognize me if I call them and explain things well, but how will I introduce myself once I reach the village?'

'I know nothing about this body. If I use my name and this body actually lives in the village, I would need to pretend I have an amnesia or something, but if that's the case, I would at least have food and shelter.'

'However, if they do not know me, going to the nearest police station would be best since they can help me find out my identity.'

'Once I know who I am, I would return to this body's home and stay there until I can pay or befriended a powerful exorcist. Then I would return to my home country and get rid of that bitch.'

'Hahaha, yeah, I'll definitely do that,' she thought. However, the closer she got to the village, the more she felt like she wouldn't be able to implement her plan.

'Did I transmigrate or time travel after all?' she asked as she stared at a house 3 meters away.

The walls were made of wood and mud, and the underside of the roof was made of thatched straw. Beside the door, there were stacks of chopped wood, and farther, there were houses made with exactly the same material.

When Lydia's eyes landed on a brick house, she couldn't help but stare at it longer because it stands out.

Unlike the rest, it had a proper chimney, and it was three times larger.

She blinked and shifted her gaze to her boots that were half buried in the snow.

'Should I push through?'

She took several steps forward, and stopped before looking at the village again. 'It's not like I have a better choice.'

'If I continue wandering around, I might die because of hypothermia… but the village looks shady.'

'Even if I haven't met a person yet, I'm sure this is not a well preserved historical site.'

'The smell, the looks, and even the ambiance, tells me this is how the people live.'

'Shit, it seems like I really transmigrated or something.'

'This is bad, really bad. I don't want to transmigrate at all. Damn that thief. After I finally finished 17 years of school, worked my ass off to get a decent job and finally live in a decent apartment…'

'Grrr, I don't want to live in an unfurnished house again, just after I got out of one.'

Lydia struck the air with her stick several times, but stopped and searched the area when she felt like someone was watching her.

In front of the fourth house, a young man was looking at her intensely.

He was standing still with piles of chopped wood in his hands, and he stared like she was a rare commodity.

'Does he perhaps recognize me?' she asked while looking him up from head to toe.

He had a well-defined physic that was prominent in his woolen tunic, hose, and short cloak.

With the amount of wood he was carrying, it was clear he was more than strong. However, when their eyes met, his eyes widened and he quickly avoided eye contact. Then he bowed lightly, so Lydia couldn't help but stare at him with a question mark on her face.

After staying still for a while, the man bowed once more before turning to face the door.

"Wait!"

"Wait," Lydia shouted while rushing to him.

'I definitely can't let this opportunity go. I need to ask for help, since he's the only one who's outside right now.'

Lydia watched as he placed the wood down. Then she stopped when she was half a meter away from him.

"Greetings, your grace," he said with a light bow as soon as he stood.

'My grace?' she thought while looking up at him.
