Episode 8 - The Disappearance of Martin Bail

Kathy stands outside Northdale Police Station, she sees Leon walking out, and towards his car. Kathy then nods "alright, now I can go".

As Leon drives off, Kathy then runs inside Northdale Police Station.

Walking inside, she walks over to Leon's office, but as she tries to open the door, it doesn't budge.

Kathy pulls out the Sonic Screwdriver and sonics the door open.

Walking into the office, Kathy runs over and she tries to look for any evidence that Leon has on herself and The Doctor.

Kathy then hears a computer chime.

Kathy turns to the computer, and she sees a new case has popped up.

Clicking on the case, Kathy stares in shock as the case says 'green creatures have been spotted. Martin Bail missing! Suspicion at Harlow Block!'.

Kathy then smiles "sorry Doctor, but I'm doing one quick case before I come back".

Kathy arrives at Harlow Block, a massive apartment building. Kathy then walks over to a man and she says "hello, detective Yates, I'm here to check up on the disappearance of Martin Bail?" the man turns around and he stares at her and says in a deep voice "the Bail's? Fourth floor, number thirty" Kathy nods at him "thank you".

Kathy then turns back around and says "can I take a name please?"

The man then sighs "Richard, now leave me alone Kathy!".

Kathy then walks away from Richard and towards an elevator.

Richard then turns around he watches her walk away, he then pushes out a loud sound, of gas.

Kathy steps out of an elevator and she walks over to door number thirty.

Kathy knocks on the door.

As she waits for the door to be answered, she sniffs the air and says "it stinks".

A woman opens the door and says in a Scottish accent "yeah? What do you want?" Kathy stares at her "detective Yates, you're Mrs Bail? I heard your husband's missing?" Mrs Bail nods at Kathy "yeah, we moved in about two weeks ago, the neighbors are nice, they took care of me when I arrived. But Martin went out to take the trash, he never came back" Kathy nods at her "I'm sorry to hear that". Mrs Bail nods "I'm Jennifer by the way" Kathy nods "well, I'm gonna do some looking around, if I find anything I'll come back, and maybe I'll come back and ask you some questions" Jennifer nods "thank you, Kathy, I mean that" Kathy smiles at her "no worries". Jennifer smiles.

Kathy walks down a flight of stairs and she continues to sniff the air around her.

A woman then walks up the stairs and bumps into her, oh...I'm sorry" Kathy smiles at her "don't worry about" the woman then says "you're here because of Martin?" Kathy nods at her "yeah, can I take a name to please?" the woman nods at her "I'm Macey" Kathy nods "nice to meet you, I'm detective Yates" Macey smiles "nice to meet you, I actually just moved in, it's a weird environment, people around here are a little weird" Kathy stares at her "what do you mean, weird," Macey says "it's like they're constantly watching you" Kathy stares at her.

Kathy takes some photos of the area around her, but suddenly, her phone starts to ring and she answers it "hey Doctor, listen I won't be long, I'm just checking something out, I think the perception filter is working, I've not seen any signs of UNIT, I'll be back soon".

Kathy then puts her phone into her pocket.

Kathy takes a look through someone's window, but all of a sudden, Richard opens it and shouts "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Kathy stares in shock "I'm sorry!".

Richard opens his front door and says "you want something?" Kathy nods at him "I'm just looking around, you never know what I could find".

Richard nods at her "well, Kathy Yates...you're not welcome anywhere near my place".

Kathy stares at Richard, but she then says "how do you know my name? I havent-".

Another man walks out and says in a Scottish accent "who is it?" Richard says "the detective" Kathy looks at the man "your accent, you're from Scotland?" the man nods at her "yeah?" Kathy stares at him "so is Jennifer Bail".

Richard starts to laugh at her.

The man starts to laugh at her.

Richard starts to let out gas, so does the man.

Kathy stares at them with disgust in her eyes.

Richard flicks his hair to the side, revealing a zip on his forehead.

Kathy shakes her head "what are you?".

Richard starts to unzip his forehead, and a blue light flashes out, as his green head starts to emerge out, revealing a Slitheen.

Kathy stares in shock as Richard's skin falls to the floor and says "we are The Slitheen".

Kathy looks at the man and says "you're Martin, Martin Bail?" Martin smiles at her as he then starts to unzip his forehead too. Kathy turns around and she runs.

Kathy starts to bang on apartment thirty and shouts "JENNIFER!".

Jennifer then opens the door "Kathy? What's wrong?" Kathy sighs "I found Martin, he's not Martin anymore he's an alien!" Jennifer stares at her "oh, I can't believe it" Kathy nods "they're coming, we have to go...now!" Jennifer smiles "this is my home, I can't leave it" Kathy stares at her "please, Jennifer!" Jennifer shakes her head "Kathy, I'm staying" Kathy stares at her "I never told you my name either" Jennifer smiles at her "oh yeah, it's funny...I thought I'd have been a better actress" Kathy shakes her head "you're one of them too?" Jennifer smiles "when Jennifer and Martin moved in, it was like fate, there were two of us that needed skin...me and Martin...but Martin was in love with Richard, so he moved in with him...we found out about The Doctor and Kathy Yates! We knew you'd take the case that involved something to do with aliens...now we have you...we can find The Doctor! WE WILL KILL THE DOCTOR!".

Jennifer then starts to unzip her forehead.

Kathy shakes her "no!".

Running down the stairs, she gets to the second floor, where she then sees Richard, Martin, and four other Slitheen's.

Martin then screams "GET HER!".

Kathy turns back around and she starts to run up the stairs.

Running up, she reaches the third floor, where Jennifer screams at her.

Kathy continues running up the stairs, Kathy then stops at the third floor as Macey stands near an apartment door.

Kathy stares at her "are you one of them too?" Macey stares at her "um, are you alright Miss Yates?" Kathy then smiles "Miss Yates? Alright, I already trust you" Macey shakes her head as the sound of screaming and running is heard.

Macey then says "what's going on?" Kathy says "everyone in this apartment block is aliens, and they're coming for us" Macey stares in shock "are you serious?".

A Slitheen then reaches the floor, and it growls at Macey and Kathy. Macey screams.

Running into Macey's apartment, the two of them block the door with a sofa.

Macey shouts "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!" Kathy says "we're being attacked by your neighbors, they want our skin to use as homes, and they're looking for my friend".

The door then bangs open, and a Slitheen walks inside and says "you can hide, but I will find you!". The Slitheen then walks into the living room, where it sees Kathy and Macey.

Macey looks in shock as it walks up to them.

Kathy says "please, don't do this" The Slitheen starts to laugh.

The Slitheen raises its arm, revealing its sharp-long claws.

Kathy and Macey then scream.

Suddenly, a liquid is thrown over The Slitheen, covering its green back.

The liquid touches Kathy. Kathy then sniffs it and says "vinegar?".

The Slitheen then says "oh no".

The Slitheen explodes, and green chunks fly over Macey and Kathy.

Kathy spits out some of the green stuff onto the floor.

Kathy looks up, where she sees Captain Jack Harkness,

Jack then says "you're Kathy Yates, right? Name's Captain Jack Harkness, I'm an old friend of The Doctor's, I need to see him...it's urgent!" Kathy nods at him "well, we're kinda in the middle of something here" Jack nods at the two of them "fill up some spray bottles with vinegar, it kills them" Kathy then nods at him "okay".

Stood inside the kitchen, Kathy and Macey stand together filling their bottles up.

Macey then says "today has been insane, I mean I'm living with aliens, who wear dead people's skins?" Kathy nods at her "yeah, it's not nice" Macey looks at her and says "but you don't seem affected by it?" Kathy says "listen, I travel in time and space with a friend, I've seen things recently that are just horrible, I suppose I'm just getting used to it, but I care about people, the people who are still alive. I care" Macey smiles at Kathy.

Standing near the door, Jack sees Kathy and Macey walking over to them holding their bottles.

Kathy says "so, what do we do? Go and kill all of them?" Jack shakes his head "we fight our way out, my team have sent a missile to our destination, this place...it's a Slitheen hive, everything here is Slitheen, they lure humans to empty apartments to use their skin, Macey here would've been a Slitheen by the end of the week" Kathy looks at Macey and then back at Jack "so we run? That's your big plan?" Jack smiles "it's always The Doctor's plan".

Jack, Kathy, and Macey walk over to the stairway and the three of them aim their bottles.

Jack then says "are we ready?" Kathy nods at Jack. Macey nods at Jack.

The three of them run down the stairway, Slitheen jumps out at them, but they shoot them with vinegar. Jack pushes a Slitheen down the stairs.

Jack then says "we're almost there!".

Suddenly, Jennifer then appears as a Slitheen, grabbing Macey.

Macey screams "KATHY!".

Kathy turns around in shock and she takes the lid off of the bottle and throws the vinegar all over Jennifer.

Jennifer screams as she then explodes.

Macey smiles at Kathy "thank y-".

Martin's claws then stab through Macey's back.

Kathy stares in shock.

Jack grabs Kathy's hand as he pulls her down the stairs.

As they reach the second floor, Kathy then says "she's dead".

Jack looks down the stairs at over a dozen Slitheen waiting for them.

Jack opens his bottle and says "I only have a little bit left" Kathy says "I have nothing left".

Jack then says "damn!".

Jack and Kathy watch as Slitheen starts running towards them.

Outside, a missile is coming straight towards the apartment building.

Kathy looks at Jack "do you hear that?".

Martin and Richard look around. Martin then says "what is that?".

Jack smiles at Martin "your end".

Jack looks at Kathy "I'm sorry, The Doctor's gonna be mad".

Kathy stares at him "are we going to die?" Jack stares at her.

Suddenly, a bright light appears, and Jack watches Kathy disappear.

Jack then starts to laugh "oh Doctor, I'll see you soon".

The missile hits the building, killing The Slitheen and killing Jack.

Kathy opens her eyes inside the Tardis and she gasps for breath "oh my god".

The Doctor then says "everything alright? I had to bring you back as your perception filter was wearing off, do we need to go back and finish anything?" Kathy shakes her head at The Doctor and says "Jack was in the building with me, Jack Harkness?" The Doctor smiles "yeah?" Kathy says "I met The Slitheen, Jack said it was a hive, but his team had sent a missile out to the building, he was in there as it hit" The Doctor nods at her "trust me, he'll be okay" Kathy looks at him "how?" The Doctor smiles "you'll see".

All of a sudden, a massive explosion goes off inside the Tardis.

Five different alarms start blaring off inside the console room.

The Doctor and Kathy hold onto the console.

Kathy then says "Doctor?". The Doctor then says "someone's trying to board the Tardis!".

A bright light appears, and Jack then teleports onto the Tardis.

The Doctor then smiles as Jack smiles "hey Doctor" The Doctor smiles "Jack".

Kathy smiles at Jack "you're alive?" Jack nods at her "of course I am".

The Doctor then looks at Jack, Jack then says "Doctor, listen to me, Torchwood has been tracking the universe, we pick up waves of sounds and waves of information from everywhere, that's how we manage to stop most invasions on Earth now, but something has been coming through for a while, an instruction, a destination, for you" The Doctor stares at her "where?" Jack then says "Trenzalore" The Doctor stares in shock...

The Tardis materialises down on Trenzalore.

The Doctor then says "here we go again".

Running outside the church, Kathy runs out first, along with Jack, and then The Doctor.

Suddenly, the church door is broken open, and The Unknown growls.

A classic-looking Tardis console is seen, the time rotor moves up and down in flight.

The Doctor then says "run!".

Jack smiles "oh, I missed this".

The Unknown then puts its hand onto The Doctor's head.

Kathy screams "DOCTOR!".

Next Time - The Unknown - Part 1 - Landing on a burning familiar planet, The Doctor, Kathy, and Jack discover a familiar villain. The Doctor realises they've been coming here for a while. The Doctor also thinks he knows what is causing people to forget The Doctor.
