Chapter 68
Before the dawn prayer, we would rise to have seri. A meal made especially for this holy month of Ramadhaan.
Sometimes it’s a basic porridge or cereal on other days we have pancakes dipped in syrup. Throughout the day we abstain from eating and drinking until sunset where we break our fast, this time is called iftaar.
During our fasting we fulfil obligatory prayers as well as voluntary ones, we provide more charity. We also abstain from void activities such as vulgar language, which is fasting with the tongue. We don’t look at what we not suppose to which is fasting with the eyes. We also fast with our ears and nose. Everything we do we ensure that we are focused on Allah.
During this month we also have an extra night prayer which is my favourite. It’s called Taraweeh and is often prayed in congregation.
