Vince & Ash
The vice principal looked around, possibly to find anyone to use as a scapegoat to warn the other students but they were smart enough to read the mood. He soon gave up and began talking, " I am Master Alvin Santos and in this school, I and everyone here on this balcony are gods". A huge uproar came from the students as they were astonished by the level of arrogance he needed to have to say that.
"SILENCE", it seemed he was nowhere near done with his speech, "now if I may continue, we are gods and if you disrespect me or any of my fellow gods then you'll be sorry"(A/N: My head prefect used this in a speech when I went to boarding school so it's kind of based on a real experience). "Now some of you have surprisingly been deemed worthy to be taught by some of these gods, so those who hear their names should stay afterwards.
"Chris Amari, Zoan Silva, Yamayto Kubo, Arthur Alistair, Will Quezi, Connor Quezi, Aliah Sinclair, Tyrone Willis, Jaq, Tom Shaw, Suzanne Eze"... the names were called out for a while then they suddenly stopped. "These are all the capable ones among you, the rest can leave". As usual, the vice principal was sharp with his words but they all left and after a few minutes, only a couple hundred were left from the thousands of first-year students, the people on the balcony got down and started picking the students they liked.
Khrone came to Will and just teleported to his home on a hill, the moment they got there Will started to vomit intensely. Khrone looked at him in surprise then a look of realization appeared on his face. "Hahaha, it seems you haven't done this before. No matter you'll be used to it soon enough." Khrone led him to a small hut behind his house and told Will to stay there and train in his natural energy till he had achieved a qualitative change and left hurriedly. Will looked at his master's departing figure and wondered about the kind of person he had associated himself with.
Aliah was taken to a palace by Alicia, the palace was probably her home and was quite empty as there were only three other people aside from Alicia who lived there, They were an old couple called Gran who was the cleaner and Gramps who was the cook and butler alongside Freda, a nurse whose mental ability helped her to increase the recovery rates of her patients. After meeting them, Alicia took Aliah to a dome-like room with many tiny holes all around the walls. The older woman had Aliah dress in an all-white attire and told her to be careful because she will wash this by hand whenever it gets dirty.
The moment Alicia left, brown pellets shot out from the holes in the wall in all directions. Aliah narrowed her eyes and began to dodge as many pellets as she could though it would probably be useless but still training is always useful in some way or the other.
Connor was taken as a disciple by the principal who took him to a room which was cold to a skin-permeating degree. His test was to heat himself and stay alive for as long as possible. With the principal's help, it took him thirty minutes to get the hang of it and the moment he could the principal told him, "You can call me Master Ebenezer" and left.
It seemed this was the training style of Permora's teachers. Even Khay who took all of the four families' descendants as students just made to use their abilities till they were exhausted and when they did, they would rest and start all over again. It was quite stressful to use one's special abilities repeatedly, just like curling dumbbells the more one does it the harder it gets but in the long run it only gets easier, but they were the descendants of great families for a reason and they were showing it with their will and determination.
This was happening to all the students who had received mentorship, they would be given something difficult to do and then they were left alone to do it, almost as if they had copied the same teaching style.
Some hours ago
After Vince had left Khrone's clone, he rode off into the sky thinking about the past – mostly about his wife. Seeing her adopted father had caused a great number of submerged memories to begin to pop up. Vince had just graduated from Base Four at the top of his year group and Ash graduated from Forty-four which was considered a lesser version of Base Four which created a rivalry between these two camps.
Being as proud of their origins as they were, they continued the rivalry by themselves. This led them to go from rivals to friends and after some time, lovers. They would sometimes go on missions together and had started saving up money to retire early and create a comfortable life for their future family but in life, not everything would go one's way.
One time some people offended a Grandmaster-level beast(A calamity beast) which caused it to attack the nearest city where the newly wedded Vince and Ash were temporally living. The soldiers in that city and many others were called upon to delay the beast to buy time for the closest grandmaster-level warrior, who happened to be her father, Khrone, to arrive. Vince and Ash were part of the evacuation team when they saw some of the great families' descendants escaping in two MOBA(Mobile Battle Artillery) aircraft [A/N: Lowkey just revealed my school here] while the civilians were arranged to take a path which went through a monster-infested plain.
Ash tried to reason with them, asking them to take one aircraft and let them use the other one to carry the weak, sick, children and anyone in particular who couldn't make the trip but two things shocked her following this request. One, the person said he would not allow such a thing as commoners are not fit to even touch the aircraft and two, two grandmasters were protecting this "young master" and his friends who did not even bother helping out in the fight.
Ash could not take this injustice and called them out, not wanting their families' names to be sullied, they killed her and some of the people among the civilians whether or not they agreed with her, the remaining were helped to flee by Vince and the remaining soldiers into a forest till Khrone arrived to deal with the then exhausted beast. He immediately went to find his daughter but only met Vince who explained what happened.
Khrone in his anger destroyed one aircraft which had enough power to kill him but was stopped by the two grandmasters. People have different ways of dealing with things, Khrone joined Permora to create a more equal world for everyone and opposed the families behind the scenes. Vince on the other hand created a group, who were branded as cultists due to their violence and determination towards their cause, to oppose the families publicly. These old thoughts made Vince sad but he grinned when he saw his people had survived their operation, he sped up his vehicle showing off before his men before landing. He and Ento looked each other in the eyes and smiled understanding it was time to tell stories of their missions.
AUTHOR HERE, THIS IS A RELATIVELY LONG CHAPTER BUT NECESSARY TO FLESH OUT VINCE AND HIS MEN. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT MY STORY IS ON DIFFERENT SITES WITH DIFFERENT AUTHOR NAMES BUT DON'T WORRY IT'S ALL ME, KIND OF A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT.
