Nothing hits as hard as life. Everything can change so fast. 

You probe the university façade with binoculars. Announce to Gustavo everything you see. You lower the binoculars and when you look at him, you find him meditative. His metallic arm glistens in the sun.

"We will try to mediate. But if it is inevitable to end this story with bloodshed, so be it. I accept my fate" he says without looking at you. His voice is inflexible, hardened since a mob assaulted his girlfriend and him in the middle of the night, shattering his arm, and giving her a beating that led to her miscarriage. "Raise the white flag. We'll call for Parley"

You assemble all the combatants, they are armed with: Bats, chains, knives, pipes, wrenches, hammers, sledgehammers, etcetera. The barricaded students are no less people, and it seems that the siege they have been enduring for two weeks has hardened them. 

Sumire appears in her wheelchair. The respective leaders of each side go forward, you accompany your friend. Isaac follows the leader of the nonconformists without the slightest interest, as if they were strangers. Sumire and Gustavo stand face to face in the middle of the esplanade, five meters apart. They speak loud enough for their fighters to hear.

"Are you ready to sign the peace and stop this barbarism?" Sumire says.

"Peace?" Gustavo gives a humorless smile and looks to the sides. "Let's be honest, does anyone even know what that is?"
