According to the words that Mark spoke to him during his meal, one of the very first pieces of information that he believed everyone knew was the name of their planet. Nepiter.
The ancient world had decided on that name after civilization began to grow in the fullness of its power and more geniuses rose to shake the world.
Nepiter, their world, was home to six continents, each continent possessing tens of large and small cities as the world's population continued to increase even if decreases occurred many times.
The six continents were named as such, Grandul, Krivov, Jeston, Aurelia, Hevria, and Dracan.
Each continent was a carrier of memorial battles that had raged on for decades and centuries. All of them possessing historical evidence that the continents were not initially positioned the way they currently were.
The continent of Aurelia was the one Tristan found himself on, and according to Mark; was known mainly for its academies. Many prominent figures who stood as world leaders or important individuals were results of the great academies within the continent.
Although Tristan found that detail quite interesting he had requested for the ones that concerned the world as a whole. He recalled what Lax had spoken about monsters emerging from the ocean.
"As history would have it many years ago, I don't know the exact amount of years, but it's pretty long ago. The sky had shattered, the winds had blown fiercely and the sky had turned blood red."
"Six objects had been sighted to have emerged from outside the world, burning up and causing utter destruction upon the planet and its system. The death rate that single day in history had said to have wiped out sixty percent of the world's populations and seventy percent of all green grass."
"Fifty percent of all water bodies dried up and many land-forms were said to have been shaken up so much that whole valleys caved in, and lush plains not only burnt up but shattered as great heat rose from the depths of the world do deal great damage."
"I honestly do not know the full details, so I don't know exactly what happened when those massive objects landed on the planet, but they are nowhere to be seen in current times," Mark admitted, scratching his head.
Life had honestly been cruel, so much so that the details of certain things were not even available in that town. Still, he knew most of the story.
"No worries, I'm already getting a lot from you," Tristan stated, his eyes deep with thoughts as those words entered his mind and settled for digestion. What in the world was going on? He wondered.
Mark nodded, took a deep breath, and continued.
"Right after the great event called 'The Entry' devastation had been the order of the day, but soon after, strange glowing objects began to spring forth from certain sites of destruction." Mark's words pulled Tristan in as the young man held talent in storytelling.
"At first these shiny chunks of stone were kept in the background, but as history would have it, everywhere those multicolored stones were found, magical occurrences were the order of the day!"
"Until one day, a certain woman who had sustained a fresh injury came in contact with this stone, and the first inheritor was born."
"A woman?" Tristan chipped in, finding that detail quite intriguing.
"Yes. I'm unable to recall her name, but it's well-known. She was named the mother of inheritors and was the strongest of them all for a certain period."
"Oh yes! How did I miss out on that detail? Before the first inheritor arose, strange creatures had been recorded to have emerged not only from the ocean but from sites with high numbers of the shiny stones."
"Those monsters of different species had been the second cause of deaths, but then after the mother of us inheritors, more arose and the power of Kaos was revealed." Mark continued, he himself found that recount of history; rather interesting. It made him think of things he never considered.
"Kaos?' Tristan asked. "Is that what allows you all to do all those things?" He inquired.
"Correct. It was only after the first inheritor arose did she speak of the very world being filled with the dark-purple energy that filled her body and of course her spirit."
"Spirit?"
"Yes… the inheritance unlocked the pathway into the vast and undiscovered parts of human existence. His spirit. But not only did they unlock the pathway to the spirit they also bestowed upon us powers over certain aspects of the world."
"I understand this part of the story since it still happens now and even to me. The spirit and the deposited inheritances are what allow us control over the elements. We absorb Kaos into our spirits and it improves our bodies and abilities." Mark paused, he saw slight difficulty in the features of his audience.
"What don't you understand?"
"Not much, but for now just go on," Tristan responded.
"Uh… this technique is called Spirit Cultivation it is the only type of cultivation that exists, but various forms exist to reach that same goal."
"As the years passed more Inheritors came to be and the first great battle against the Creatures of the depths began. According to history, this battle raged on fiercely for two hundred years, until finally a break for humanity arrived."
"Peace was restored, even if the monsters were not completely eradicated. By this time most of the population now wielded the power of an Inheritor."
"Fast forward many years later and here we are at a time in history where everyone possesses the bloodlines of an inheritor and as such our bodies began the process of awakening."
"Now when children reach the age of six they are at the stage of being able to properly wield the power of Kaos, and are made to go before the Ancient Crystals, where bits of their blood is spilled to allow them to obtain their inheritance, and also unlock the pathway into their spirit."
"This is essentially the basics," Mark heaved a sigh, he had been at the top of his breath throughout his explanation.
"It's a lot to take in at once, but I'm capable. I want you to tell me about the various classes as you called them." Tristan stated, honestly enjoying that interaction between the two of them.
Mark nodded and proceeded to open his mouth to speak. Unknown to him, he gained all his intelligence from a certain source.
