The Transfer Student

As the bell rings, the students in the Meiou Academy ran outside the classroom. Many of them go towards the field as they take the ball and play it. The situation is chaotic, but the teacher didn't bother interfering with them and let them play as they wish.

In contrast to the energetic students, there are two people walking out from the classroom calmly.

"Lian, do you want to play after school or you have something else to do?" one of the two students asks.

Lian yawned, "Didn't you have a promise with your girlfriend?"

"You're right," he slapped his forehead with grin, "Then off I go!"

Lian watches his best friend running in the hallway with light smile. Walking to the stairs, he walked down and stares at the crowded gate with frown. Moving his feet, he change direction to the school backyard.

A completely different view awaited him. Because there is rumor that the school backyard is filled with ghost inside the big park, which more similar to a mini forest, none of the student dares to come here. As for Lian, he just walks inside the forest without fear.

After walking for several minutes, Lian glance towards the tree several meters in front of him. There is something or someone hanging on the branch.

'Is that a monkey?'

From what he knows, there is no one who lives here. Before he could get close, that thing falls down to the ground with loud voice and followed after that is the sound of a person panting and talking.

"Yes! I finally succeed!" the person in the ground yelled with excitement.

Lian interest piqued up and he walked closer to the person. He finally can see the other person face and recognizes him as the new transfer student in Meiou Academy named… he forgot. Because Meiou is an international school, there are many transfer students from different country, including the one in front of him, so he cannot remember their name.

"What are you doing on the ground?" Lian asked.

"Whoa!" he immediately jumped from the ground and looks towards Lian, "You scare me!"

'You're the one scaring me.'

"You haven't answered my question," Lian said calmly and glanced to the side. He could see a bunch of equipment and weird weapon there, such as kunai, chain, and many others.

"Ah, you're not allowed to see it!" the transfer student shrieked and throws a kunai towards Lian.

Lian watches silently as the kunai hit the tree beside him. What an amazing accuracy!

The transfer student face reddened and he tried a few times more. Unfortunately, none of them hit Lian, which depressed him.

"Please don't tell anyone about this…" the transfer student said in low voice.

Lian is obviously intrigued, so he nodded, "I won't. What is your name?"

"I'm Nanda from class 1-C, and you?"

"I'm Liam from class 1-A," Lian answered, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm training my skill because I'm an apprentice ninja," Nanda answered with awkward smile

"You're a ninja?" Lian ask with disbelief tone. He had heard about ninja and their skill, especially because many of them are adapted into movie or manga, but this is the first time he sees such a poor ninja.

"Isn't ninja is the same as an assassin?"

"Ninja is the term from our country because we're the only one who's famous," Nanda said proudly.

"With the way you're training, it's obvious that people would see you," training in broad daylight with such poor skill. Not to mention that this is a public place.

"I thought that no one passed through this forest because of the rumors," Nanda said helplessly, "And, I'm actually the worst in my class, so it's not like the ninjas have poor skill like me."

"…. Why are they sending someone as poor as you here?"

"For training of course," Nanda said excitedly.

"…" I'm impressed you can get chosen with such personality.

Nanda look towards his watch and yelled, "Wah, I'm late! Don't tell anyone what you hear, okay? It's a secret!"

'If it's a secret, you shouldn't have told me about it.'

"Fine," Lian agreed as he watches Nanda frantically cleaned up his equipment and dashed quickly. Lian shakes his head as he looks towards the ground where Nanda dropped one of his kunai. Seeing that Nanda already run far away, Lian didn't bother to call him. He picked it up and glanced to the target Nanda draw on the tree.

"The one they send to this school is the worst, huh?"

Putting the kunai between his fingers, he aimed and threw it within a second. The kunai goes straight to the center of the target.

"Well, you're not the only one."
