"Satan Gave Me A Family"

On Satan's desk was a letter that was poorly handwritten. Since Satan was the leader of the underworld, he had no problems whatsoever in understanding the writing.

'Dear Satan, my name is Chen. I have been abandoned by my parents since I was young and this Christmas, all I want in life...is a happy family.'

Satan read over the letter again and again, thinking it was a mistake to send it to him. 'The person must've confused me...with Santa?' He thought to himself.

Satan didn't have any good relationship with Santa so he didn't bother talking to him about it at all.

He sat there, thinking of a way to gift this kid. Lately, he has been sending the wrong things to people so he decided to make sure to do it correctly.

He grabbed a book entitled "Book of Life and Death" from the bookshelf behind him and flipped to a certain page.

Name: Chen, no last name.

Age: 8 years of age

Birthdate: June 15, 2009

"Hm, great longing for parents huh. He did say it in the letter." Satan muttered.

"Asmodeus, Gremory, I need you to do something for me." Satan called for two of his underlings.

...

"You called for us, Master?" Asmodeus asked Satan.

Satan nodded, "Yes. The reason I called for you is to go to a kid named Chen."

Gremory asked, "What do we do, Master? Torture him to a thousand lashings? Eat him alive?"

Satan shook his head. "Today, I want to make a change. I'll be nice for a day. Go and accompany this Chen as his parents."

Asmodeus and Gremory tilted their heads as if confused.

"Asmodeus, you shall be the father of this child. Gremory, you shall be the mother of this child." Satan commanded.

"Yes, Master." They both acknowledged the command. They bowed and flew away to where Chen was.

...

It was now December 25th. Chen opened his eyes and looked around. There was nothing new at all. He sighed and went downstairs to eat some breakfast.

Hours later, an old woman came up to Chen saying, "Chen, someone wants to adopt you."

Chen looked at the couple that wanted to adopt him.

The man was somewhat tall, with jet black hair and a dashing face. The woman was curvy in all the right places and a beauty also.

The woman went up to Chen and hugged him. "I'm sorry son." She said.

Chen was confused. "What do you mean?" He asked.

The woman whispered, "To be honest, we're the ones who abandoned you. It was a matter of financial problems you know. With a stable life, we want to take you back."

Chen was still wary, "Are you really my long lost parents?"

The man bent down and smiled at Chen, "Don't worry. Everything's gonna be alright now."

Chen teared up and smiled. "I want to go with you!"

The man and woman looked at each other and smiled. They held Chen hand-in-hand and left the orphanage to go to a new house.

...

Chen was sleeping in the back of the car while the man and woman reverted back to their original appearance.

Asmodeus sighed. "How long do we have to do this?"

Gremory replied, "Master said one day is enough. Let's just make him have the best day today. His true parents are dead already. It's in the Book of Life and Death."

Asmodeus said, "Let's do that then."

...

The woman covered Chen's eyes before they exited the car.

Chen asked, "Where are we?"

The man laughed, "Where else other than our house?"

The woman removed her hands from Chen's eyes to let Chen take in a view.

Chen was astounded. 'My new house is this big?' He thought.

The house had 3 floors and covered around 800 square meters of space. Surrounding it was lush green grass everywhere.

Entering the house, the woman asked Chen, "What do you want to eat?"

Chen happily replied, "Pasta and chicken!" He couldn't eat this at the orphanage but he wanted to try at least once.

The woman laughed and went to the kitchen. "It'll take a while. Play with your father okay?"

Chen nodded and went to his father. The man chuckled, "What do you want to play? Outdoor games? Indoor games? We have everything here."

Chen answered, "Let's play frisbee!"

They went outside and a frisbee materialized out of thin air on the man's palm. They played with it for hours until the woman shouted, "Food is ready!"

Chen and the man sat down on the table with the woman. There were many sorts of pasta and chicken dishes laid down on the table.

They ate happily.

...

They were watching a movie until Chen fell asleep.

The man and woman looked at each other and brought Chen to his bed.

The woman bent down and kissed Chen's forehead.

She slowly said, "Merry Christmas, Chen."
