Not All Ninja Are Known

[Not all Ninja are known. The bad ones are ones that get written down in history and the good ones have never been known. In the past, people have looked at Japan for ninjas but what they didn't know is that they're just a single division, a department if you will that focuses on information gathering. They were named Shinobi, It is said that they were first created in the 11nt century due to the "Hidden War".

They were the best of the best in their field. From the records, it is written that in from 11th-14th century the Sukemoto family have been ruling the Ninjas in Japan, but unfortunately, around 14th century Hino Kumawaka infested with greed killed his own father and his older brother for power and framed others for his father's death.

Historians believe From then the Japanese ninjas have spiraled into chaos, with the former ruler dead Hino has made deals with the Emperor for his own gains. While young his father never taught him the art of ninjutsu because his older brother was the heir to the clan. Ironically in his pursuit of power, he never learned the art and spent his family wealth on self-pleasure such as women and sake.

One night in a drunken stupor, he burned down the manuals in anger and destroyed the legacy he was meant to protect. It is due to this that the Japanese ninjas have fallen so far. After that, it is said that he was assassinated by his father's loyal subordinate Yagyū Sekishūsai at a later date. However, there are some people believe that it was his younger sister Shio Sukemoto who killed him. From then on the younger generation tried to salvage what was left of their teachings.

Because of his dealings with The Emperor, the Main division stopped contacting them for further support. With nowhere to turn it was the darkest time for the Ninjas in Japan. While they did mend the connection back to the main division later on it was already over, they were known to the world.

After that, the dark period between 14th-17th century was later named "The Fall Of Shinobi". The later generation tried to stop such things from happening again by ruling with an iron fist however it backfired, there was a rebellion group that resisted the iron rule of the clan. They were aptly named "Shinobi of the Hidden Eyes", they believed that they didn't need the Main Division anymore. In their own arrogance, they waged a war. In the end, they were defeated and exiled out of the clan for starting a civil war. And here is how the Shinobi have become hidden again. While there was "ninjas", they were more of red herring that was banished from the clan, so they can be hidden again. Time has passed and people were forgetting what ninja were. Now we are unknown, unseen, unheard. We are the Shinobi-]

A teen grabs the paper he was writing and crumbles it and throws it into the trash can with a disgruntled groan, and buries his hands in his face. After a while he says

"Damn it, why couldn't I write this stupid thing. I mean what the hell was that garbage, like We are the Shinobi? Oh god so fu-freaking cringy"

The youth mentally corrects his cursing while holding his head

He takes his phone and dials in a number, after beeping a for a moment or two someone answers it

"Hey man what's up, done with your punishment?"

A young male voice asks mockingly.

"Screw off!! Why the hell did I even agree to go on a mission with you? Something was definitely wrong with my head that day. And why did you answer my call!!! You know I'm running low on credits you asshole"

The youth replies with the anger of a kid who had been framed by his close friend…..Oh wait

The voice laughs and says

"Oh come on Rei, you got some credits and I got my monthly mission done, It was a win-win situation you know. "

Now named Rei replies with false anger

"Win-Win my ass, do you know how many times I got lost in there and I couldn't even pay attention in class and fell asleep. It was all thanks to you that I'm writing this stupid thing Uiru"

Uiru goes silent for a moment and says

"Ok ok no need to get all angry with me, so what's the subject even about anyway. Maybe I can help with it or something"

Rei thinks for a second and replies offhandedly

"It's about Japanese ninjas being known to the world and how it came to that, plus its aftermath. The teacher was saying something like 'People who do not know history are bound to repeat it' and gave me this" Uiri then says

"Ok dude, just leave it to me ok? I'll handle it, oh and by the way what happened to not cursing and finding inner peace and all that jazz" He asks teasingly

To which Rei replies half annoyed

"Well, one douche decided to mess with me and just being an annoying prick….. ok enough messing around, you know I gotta find my inner peace to advance to the next stage,"

Rei says the latter half seriously

There is some typing on the other side of the phone and Uiru replies

"Man the chat is lively today, someone keeps saying someone called SanMod is my alt account. Oh yeah, by the way, they were even doing some karaoke yesterday, too bad you weren't connected yet. Dude, I'm saying just bring your phone to me and I'll fix it up"

Rei looks at his phone and replies

"You know I bought this from outside, it's way cheaper but it can't connect to the I-Net. I don't think you can do it. Remember last time" Rei says with his eyebrow raised even tough Uiru can't see him

The voice on the other end replies

"Pssht I'm way better than I was before. Just believe me ok besides what are you gonna do without a connection to the net. It's worth the risk dude" After hesitating a moment he decides

"Ok, but you gotta promise to not go crazy with it ok? If you break it, it's gonna be a pain in the neck to sneak outside and buy another one" Uiru replies with more cheer in his voice

"You can trust me on this, It's in my name you know besides it's not that hard to sneak by the security with your mad skillz" however after he said that Rei goes quiet and contemplates why he even friended this asshole.

Before he can think of an answer Uiru says

"Ok let's forget the things I said for the last couple seconds ok?" with that, a smile creeps into Reis' lips and he replies

"Ok, whatever you say man" and after that, an awkward silence ensued...........

Unable to stay quiet Uiru breaks the silence

"*Cough* Ahem anyways there are some seniors sisters gathering tonight, and one of them is totally my type dude. So I was thinking 'Would there be a good friend who would be good wingman' sooooo-

"No" was his quick reply

"Come on dude please"

"Nope"

"Please with a cherry on top?"

"Ummmmm how bout no, so if you don't have any else to say I'm gonna hang up now, Bye" and with that, he was going to hang up but his buddy quickly replied

"Ok ok how about I give you some Jumbo sized candy?" Rei calmly replies

"9" Uiru is confused

"That's not ba-" And with that, Rei interrupted with his reply

"I meant 9 packets" and you could hear the sharp inhale

"Are you insane? Do you know how many are in 1 packet?, and you expect me to give you eight, stop dreaming" With that Rei says his decisive words

"You gotta have to remember what happened in that mission"

"…"

"6" was his reply after going silent

"9" Rei bargained

"8 and that's it"

"Hmmm, Deal" and with that Rai was smiling smugly

Uisi sighs behind his phone and says

"Deal, even though I'm talking on the phone, I swear I could see your smug smi-

However, Uisu went silent and any hint of playfulness was gone from Rei. His body tense and his breath lowered he strained his ears to hear anything at all

"Are you there, Virus if you are there, give me the signal or I will go to your room right now!!"

Rei said with a serious tone. His body taut like a bow he jumps from his window and rushes outside. His steps agile and quick he disappears into the shadows

However, while he was running his phone gave a response

"Ghost listen to me"

Rei stops right in his track. It was Uiris voice but it was different, it wasn't playful or teasing it was serious, almost robotic and he said

"We have a mission, THE Mission"

And with that Reis body is covered in cold sweat. Despite his training, his heart is beating quickly and his palm is sweating, after a while, Rei asks carefully for confirmation with a calm voice despite the storm rising in his body

"Is it 'Them'"

Uirui gives a calm reply, however, Rei knew he was excited as him

"Yes, and they want to meet-"

Rei gives a quiet reply and both of them say it at the same time

"In the Headquarter…."

After a deep breath, his training kicks in and he is calming his mind and body. After calming down Rei gives his reply

"Roger that, meet you at the Base tomorrow"

And he hangs the phone. The cold wind is rushing towards him but he gives no reaction. A normal man would've been shivering with this chilliness but Rei is unaffected by the cold. After a few minutes, he finally snaps out of his daze and heads back inside

At night the full moon is out, the forest is painted with a desolate look and the animals have gone quiet. Not a footstep is heard for miles away. They are silent because they are afraid to move a single muscle, their instinct is screaming at them "Don't move if you want to live". They are all looking at the same thing, a fragile human boy in the middle of the woods looking at the moon. It would be a sad sight if it weren't for the crazed look on his face

He runs past animals twice his size and with one stab he opens its guts and lets it drop all over the ground and on him. While doing so the other predators have awoken from their daze and rush towards him. He smiles twistedly and runs towards them. He mutters

"They will have the most gruesome torture ever known" and

"I'll kill every single man involved" while killing any living thing standing in his way

After an unknown amount of time, a lonely figure is sitting on top of something. Around the figure is blood all over with gore everywhere. Any normal man would've have lost everything in his stomach but the figure sits there. On a closer look, it looks like a decapitated human head and the figure is drenched in red from head to toe. The figure stands up and says

" I have waited for this moment for the past 7 years, I'll have my revenge ."

In the forest a deranged man is laughing all alone, what he's laughing to is only known to himself
