Discord Writing Contest Rules

A writing contest was launched on the webnovel.com Discord server a couple of weeks ago! The following are the competition's rules:

We've decided to run a writing competition! If this first competition is successful, we'll run it more often. You guys can write a story, and members of the server can vote for their favourites. A prompt will be provided, which will contain a scenario that you must base your story on.

To keep the contest from deteriorating into a popularity contest, entrants must DM me a read-only google docs link which will be posted here. I will start posting the links here on the evening of Monday 28th May (UK time), so take your time to write your entry over the weekend. The winners will be decided by who has the most reactions. Voting will end the following Tuesday morning (5th June). I will then list the entries alongside the authors and their total votes.

Anyone can submit an entry. Entries are limited to one per person. There is no limit to how much you can write, but it must be greater than 300 words. The entry must be based on the writing prompt provided.

I will be posting the entries on Webnovel as a collection to share with others unless you make me aware, before voting ends, that you don't wish for it to be. You will be credited for your entry in the author's thoughts section.

If you're an original author, your entry can have an advertisement for your original novel added to the author's thoughts section of your submission. After sending me your link, just let me know what you want added.

The winner will get a role above translators in a colour of their choice. The role can either be Writing Contest Winner or your original novel's name. You will keep this role until we run the next writing contest.

Additionally, the top 3 novels will win Spirit Stone gift cards!

1st place = 5 gift cards

2nd place = 3 gift cards

3rd place = 1 gift card

Each gift card is worth 100 spirit stones!

Remember, your entry must be based on this. Any entries not related to the prompt won't be posted here. I can't believe I have to say this, but remember that the subject of the prompt is a child and there are children on the server, so no sex stuff. Also, no excessive gore. Some gore is ok, just don't go over the top.
