Christmas with Satan [4/5]

Chapter 4 : Fight with Santa

'Ah… how long has it been? Cast out from heaven, decreed to rot in the underworld, awaiting judgement. Who would've thought? That a fallen angel could leap off land!'

"Ahahahaha!" Satan's laughter was world shaking but he restrained himself from causing any disturbances to the world. He didn't want to alert those above or find any unnecessary attention towards him. That would not only bring disasters upon himself but also his new friend will be affected.

The 'happy one' was thoroughly savoring the joy of being one with wind. Although this height and speed was much too low and the skies of this world are too small, that didn't curb his excitement at all.

"See… there is nothing as impossible. If you believe in it, then it is possible." Bayley grinned, looking at her elated friend beside her, flying side by side, soaring through the clouds. She was grabbing his hand or more accurately his large hand was holding onto her tiny one as now, he was the one flying because of her power.

He quickly controlled his emotions which he didn't know he still had, and turned to Bayley. The four magnificent white wings on her back were spread open, cutting through the wind with ease. They were double her size and emitted a faint aura of benevolence and sovereignty.

"Aren't they beautiful? I totally love them!" She smiled, noticing Satan's gaze on the wings on her back. But she was still under the impression that those wings were because of Satan's power.

He didn't want to encourage her misunderstanding as it would bring calamities on her and those around her.

He actually always had his suspicions from the moment he found the letter inside hellfire. And everything that happened later only helped confirm his suspicions. He could guess that Bayley was more than a being of this world and her residing here was something which he cannot fathom.

Satan shook his head, first he need to make sure she understood her situation properly. Everything else can wait and it's not like he could peer into the mystery enveloping her.

He quietly pondered how to phrase his words so she understood him clearly. Otherwise she'll just ignore everything she doesn't understand and they would be back where they started.

"Bayley, listen carefully. What I'm about to tell you is very important." He said seriously, looking at her, his tone made her nod unconsciously. "The wings on your back… are born from your soul, I mean power. But if anybody sees them, they will take them from you. So you should not let anybody know about them, okay?"

She nodded. She really loved her wings, and she would not let anybody take them from her.

"Not even your Mom and Dad!" He added as an extra measure and Bayley looked at him as if she wanted to say something. But he furrowed his brows and she gave him another nod.

"We should descend." He said as they hovered over a large ice mountain. There was ice and snow as far as eye could see as if they were in a world of ice.

What should've taken at least an hour of flight was easily scaled in less than 15 minutes because of Bayley's massive white wings. And there were four of them.

As they landed, Bayley could feel chill seeping into her as she began to shiver.

The 'kind one' turned to her and waved his hand slightly as Bayley felt cold disperse and her body temperature rising to normal. She knew it was his doing so she gave him a happy grin.

"First, retract your wings." He said, pointing to her wings. "Just imagine closing them and then push them into your back"

Bayley nodded and the wings closed as they shrank in size before disappearing into her back. Even Bayley was surprised, but she was more excited as she realized she could completely control her wings with just her thoughts.

"And remember, nobody should know about them. That means your beloved Santa too, got it?"

Bayley thought out about it but eventually decided to do as her friend said.

"Okay, now this honest one will send you to that oldman's front door. You can go and talk to him or whatever you want to do. And after-"

Bayley furrowed. "You are not coming?"

He scoffed. "No. He doesn't like me. If I come, he'll only yell at me and won't even talk to you."

Bayley thought that maybe because Satan was a devil, Santa won't like him. But she didn't want to leave him out here alone, while she was having fun with Santa. So she made up her mind to convince Santa.

"Don't worry. You are my friend now, I will ask Santa not to be angry at you."

"Heh, your persuasions won't work on that old bastard. He can be very stubborn."

"We wont know unless we try."

"Don't bother, I'll stay here. I don't want to get yelled at by that stupid oldman."

"No, you're coming with me and that's it!" Bayley said firmly.

The devil revealed an evil grin. "Fine…"

He then waved his hand and they both stood in front of a large snow covered wooden house with a chimney on top.

Bayley looked at the house with untold joy and excitement at the thought to meeting Santa.

How many would get to do that. She took a step forward and was about to knock on the door when an angry voice reverberated through the surroundings.

"Which vile creature dared to desecrate my humble abode!" The voice shook the nearby mountains as Bayley was shocked still at the door.

A few steps behind her, the sinister one quickly withdrew his aura and stood quietly as if he didn't do anything. Bayley turned to look at her friend and he just shrugged his shoulders as if saying 'I told you so.'

Then the next moment, a giant figure appeared above the house descending slowly. At a distance, Satan wore a smirk as he looked the big fat oldman in red robes with fluffy white edges.

He had a full face of white beard as he stared angrily at the black clothed Satan.

"How dare a fallen one show up in a guardian's territory?" Santa bellowed angrily, his voice sending tremors in the surroundings.

The devil snickered. "I didn't want to come to his monotonous place either."

"Then get out. You are not welcome here."

Satan ignored him and turned to Bayley beside him. "See, What did I tell you? But you didn't listen. Now go, convince him."

The furious Santa then saw the tiny figure of Bayley and was surprised. "Child, get away from that devil. He is an evil creature who will harm you. Come to me, Santa has lots of presents for you."

"Santa, please don't be angry at him. He's my friend and he brought me here to see you."

"F-Friend? Child, he's a really bad devil. You should not believe anything he says." Then he turned to Satan and spoke with an enraged tone. "You devil, how dare you entrap an innocent child to do your bidding? I will not let you do as you please anymore."

The mountain started to shake as the snow fall intensified several fold and gradually turned into a violent snowstorm with Santa at the center.

"Heh, you think you can face me head-on. You should stop dreaming." Satan replied with a scoff, not even moving a finger. Actually he didn't plan on doing anything at all.

He'd just let the oldman do whatever he wanted and see how things will turn.

He looked at the girl beside him who took a step forward and stood in front of him."Santa, stop! He's my friend. He didn't do anything to me."

"Child, stay back. I'll capture this filthy devil and free you from his influence."

A snow wind quickly brushed her aside, away from the two. Bayley fell down because of the force but the soft snow underneath cushioned her from suffering any injuries. She turned her head to look at the two who were fighting because of her, feeling extremely guilty.

Satan said this would happen but she didn't listen. And now…

The snow typhoon completely concealed Santa inside and getting more and more violent with every second.

"Devil, release the child from your evil clutches and return to your world. This is your last warning."

"Heh, who are you trying to scare with that little wind? You are making me laugh."

"Hmph." Santa raised his fist and numerous long and sharp icicles shot out from the typhoon, aiming at Satan's head.

Satan moved swiftly to dodge the incoming icicles, but a few still managed to cut his cheeks, nose and forehead. Red blood flowed out from his wounds, turning his face bloody.

Santa frowned at the scene, not because he hurt him so easily. But because of the red blood flowing out from his wounds. Firstly, those were only superficial wounds and wont draw that much blood and second, the blood itself. Since when did the fallen bleed red? Something was definitely not right. This devil must be planning something. But what?

Indeed, Santa's suspicions were correct. The devil was planning something. In fact he was already executing his plan.

He was putting on a play… for his dear little friend. Bayley anxiously watching everything from the side, with tears in her eyes. Seeing this, the devil revealed a smirk but then it quickly disappeared as he frowned.

His plan was working and the play was getting a response but, maybe he was overdoing it with too many wounds and too much blood. Bayley was getting too agitated and her soul was fluctuating. If it continues, she might accidentally reveal her powers and worse yet, it could forcefully awaken more of her powers.

That was bad. He doesn't want anyone to know about her, and this oldman definitely cannot know more than anyone, as he works directly for those above.

He just wanted her to have a bad impression of the oldman so he won't have to hear about him again. But Bayley was just a kid and watching Satan all bloody like that made her feel hopeless. As a result, she unconsciously began to tap into her pure essence.

'Dammit. I should close the play early and get out of here, otherwise it will turn into a disaster for all of us.'

Satan frowned and suddenly raised his hand, catching a large icicle heading straight for his central horn. That was dangerous. That could've really hurt him. Badly.

Alright, time to leave.

Before Santa could realize what was happening, the devil appeared beside Bayley and the next instant they both disappeared from the mountain.

Santa furrowed his brows, glaring in the direction Satan had been till then. The snowstorm dispersed quickly as he flew off towards a distant mountain.

- -

Inside a mountain far away, Santa was currently communicating with someone through the water in a high pedestal

He was on his knee and head down as he spoke with respect and admiration. "Praise the holy lord. This guardian has encountered the Fallen from the Underworld here in the human world. And he has even influenced a young child to walk with him."

"This old man was unable to capture him. So, I request for an edict to throw him out of this world and to protect that young child."

The water in the pedestal parted to the sides as a thin blue lightning piece appeared in there.

- -

After disappearing from the snow mountain, the devil and his friend appeared at a faraway location. It was a large grass field with a few tall trees in the backdrop of a dull purple sky.

"Calm down, Bayley. We're safe."

Bayley looked at him and the tears started to spill down her face. "I'm sorry, Satan"

The devil then realized that his face was still bloody. He waved his hand and his face quickly turned to his handsome appearance.

"See, I'm fine. I'm not hurt at all. Don't cry." Her tears were burning him in the inside as he felt strange sensations in him.

"Im sorry, I should've listened to you. Because of me, you got hurt."

"Ok stop. Look at me. I'm the ruler of underworld, and that oldman could never hurt me. I was just playing with him." He was relieved when she raised her head to look at him. He smiled at her and continued. "Did you forget? I'm a devil. I do bad things all the time."

"So you are really not hurt?" she asked, still suspicious.

"Where do I look hurt to you?" he smirked and asked his own question.

She stood up and walked around him, looking for any injuries he might be hiding. But his black robe was clean and neat, without any signs of battle he underwent just before.

She circled him thrice before she was satisfied and finally showed a smile. Seeing that Satan blew a sigh of relief and he too gave her a smile.

"Okay now, lets go somewhere and do something fun." Satan spoke his thoughts. He didn't forget his original purpose for coming here. Its just that... he had to find something else to satisfy his desire as his original target has turned to his friend. An unfathomable friend at that.

"But where do we go?" Bayley asked, looking around. She didn't know where she was at. So where could she go?

"You can fly. Where can't you go? We'll just fly wherever you want. With me here, you won't have to worry about getting lost either."

Bayley grinned. "Let's go then." Her large white wings fluttered into existence behind her back as she floated in the air. She then extended her small hand as Satan held it in his as they both soared high into the dull sky.
