Cosiness.

I stayed the whole night in Jonathan's arms. It was a soothing feeling. I never thought I'll get cosy with someone. The date night went more than I thought it would go. After talking, we just sat and cuddled and slept under the sheets together. No matter how much I wanted to ignore it, Jonathan Ramsey was changing me.

I wake up first, at 6 in the morning. This time I stay. I watch him lay there, sleeping peacefully. Even though he was unconscious, watching him made me feel butterflies in my stomach as if I was a 16-year-old teenage girl looking at her first crush. I forgot this feeling a long time ago.

I brush my fingers on the side of his face, and Jonathan wakes up. He opens his eyes and smiles instantly after watching me being there with him.

"You stayed this time," Jonathan says.

"Well, something kept me here."

"Good morning, Angelica."

"Good morning to you too, Mr Ramsey." I chuckle.

"Mr Ramsey Huh? I think hearing Jonathan coming out of your mouth seems more attractive."

"Haha, come on, let's have some breakfast. What do you want to eat?"

"Will it be disrespectful if I say you?"

"Maybe. Maybe not. I guess you'll have to find out."

"Then that's what I'll do."

Instantly, Jonathan goes under the sheets tickling me, making me laugh like hell and, of course, eating me like a hungry man he is. I laugh and get out of bed running towards the kitchen and I say in a loud voice, clear to him.

"Breakfast first, dessert later."

"Hey, that's not fair, you know."

"I know."

A few minutes later, here I was sitting and having breakfast with my one-night stand, forgetting about all my problems except one. I was constantly checking my phone for new messages or calls from Nat. Last night before sleeping, I texted her where I was. She would always text me back within seconds, but this time she didn't. Jonathan was addressing my behaviour for a while now. I could feel that in my gut. And it was about time he would ask what was wrong.

"So. Are you going to tell me about it?"

Here it is.

"About what?" I settle my phone on the dining table, acting like everything is sexy.

"Come on, Angelica. I'm not a child."

"I think you are... You were the one who was crying because you didn't get dessert." I chuckle, trying to change the topic. He does too but looks at me sarcastically within seconds.

"Fine. Either you can sit here trying to figure this out alone or you can have a choice of sharing it with me and having tons of ideas to resolve it."

Ugh. He was right. Maybe the best thing to do right now would be to ask him for some suggestions. We both can come up with a solution. Who knows?

"Okay. Promise you won't judge." I ask.

"Cross my heart."

"I have a friend whom I trust the most in this world. But the past few days she hasn't been herself."

"What do you mean by not herself?"

"Well, at first she vanished for a whole day without telling me where she had gone. She lied to me about her mother's sickness and..."

"And?"

"I followed her into an alley where she met a funky guy, giving him some money."

I look at Jonathan just waiting for him to react awkwardly after hearing what I just said and realizing that I may be just a freaky ass stalker. But he goes into deep thinking with neutral emotions. It surprised me to my bitter core.

"Okay, well. How do you know she lied about her mother's sickness?"

"I called and asked her."

"And did you try talking to your friend directly?"

"I did, but all she said was something about getting into a fight with other parents and trying to stay sane and something about trusting her that nothing's wrong."

"Okay, and when she was telling you all of this, what was her body language?"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Everything you need to know."

"Well, I don't know. She was just confused and confident at the same time. It was like the things she was saying happened in real life. They were just hard to believe for some reason."

Jonathan gazed into my eyes for a while. It was sure he was trying to figure the situation out, although he didn't seem to pressure the solution. Well, he has a tendency to tackle situations like this every day, so why not another day? He smiled instantly before leaning towards me.

"Maybe she's not lying to you, Angelica."

"What do you mean?"

"Look, in my career, I've seen a lot of liars. Each one lies about specific things, whether to pull them out of harm's way or to make someone feel good. You know, by fake complimenting or something. But most of the time I've seen those who do something wrong and lie about it by throwing that whole situation onto another person who was not even present at the moment."

"Okay, I didn't understand a single word."

"Let me give you an example. There was a guy working for us who got himself into a situation only known to him, not to us. He told us all about it and about the others who were there in that situation with him. By his statement, the involved person was one of his best-friends. But when the news came out publically, we got to know that the guy he was telling us about was not his best-friend but some woman he was sleeping with who just got into trouble."

"In short words, maybe the things your friend is telling you about are true, but the individuals she's including are nothing but lies. Maybe all of that happened but with someone else. Someone your friend doesn't want to disclose."

"And if you saw her with some funky guy, maybe he's the answer to all your questions."

I go into deep thought, looking at Jonathan, asking him what I should do next.

"Look, Angelica. If you trust your friend that much, directly talk to her. If not. Well, I guess the guy will still be there."

"So.. What's it going to be?"

I hate to say it, but all this left me in a terrible position. I lean back, thinking about what to do next.

"Okay, Let's do it."
