The Chained Beast

Michael and Crystal passed through the veil of crystal-line light that obscured the view of anything beyond the tunnel. When they did, they were immediately showered by a rainbow-like light than shone down from above.

Michael looked around in awe as he beheld the magnificent sight. Mana crystals of all attributes were fixed into the walls all around them.

Krystal was just as awed as he was, and she froze completely, letting the rainbow lights reflect in her eyes. The two of them had completely dropped their guard, and they forgot to take in the full scope of their surroundings. They did not properly examine where they were.

Huff.

A mighty gust of wind blew through the cavern, destabilizing the space around them. The rainbow lights flickered, and it was like reality cracked. The space before Michael flickered, before Michael felt the space around him twist and distort.
